Find The Archaeologist is unique in that it allows you to leave the quest area while still allowing you to Hero Save.
As no other quest (aside from Try To Stop Jack of Blades, with a Summon clip) allows Hero Saving in Bowerstone South, we can abuse this feature to get both Wizard Hats during Book Collection by getting the first hat, Hero Saving, and getting the second hat.
However, it's a bit more nuanced, as any books you pick up won't return to their original locations after loading the Hero Save, locking you out of finishing the quest properly.
To get around this, if we make sure that we don't pick up any books beforehand, we can get all the books during Find The Archaeologist, and they WILL return during after loading the Hero Save, as changes to the world will not be saved in the Hero Save.
In addition, Mr. Gout accepts the books in a certain order, with the good books mostly taking priority. Because of this, on our first time picking up the books we need to be careful which ones we're picking up, so that we ensure we get the Dark Wizard Hat the first time around.

This video is amazing, so well done. Although I prefer the bright wizard hat, the evil books are hilarious to turn in. The dialogue for some of the books cracks me up.

The editing's really helpful in this video. Made it so much easier to understand everything, also really appreciate when it gets sped up. Nice!

How would one do this on Fable Anniversary unfortunately there's no hero save?

    Nice :)
    I know, how it works.
A type "Autosave game.hs" file is being updated. A file of type “Autosave game” remains old.
A file of type “Autosave game.hs” sets the properties of the hero. A file of type “Autosave game” is a map, quests and items.
And if you also specifically move one of the files (Autosave game.hs => copy/paste => renamed manual save 9.hs), then you can get not only hats.
One person got two swords this way, although playing honestly can only get one.
Then it became clear to me that can get into parallel saved game, and take something.

Many game crashes (bugs) are based on the fact that the game is saved as different files.
There are common ones, such as "Manual save1", or "Autosave". There are auxiliary files that usually exist temporarily, can be created by the game and then deleted. For example "Manual save1.hs" or "Autosave.hs". There may also be "Autosave.qs" and even "Autosave.qs.hs" (some names are approximate, in reality they may be slightly different).
All these files can be found on the computer approximately at: My Documents, Games, Fable, Profile (profile name).
For example, when the task (gold, silver quest) starts, the game dries up Autosave, it also usually creates the Autosave.qs file, if, for example, enter Etem mode and start another save, then worlds are mixed. Files from different saves work. This is how it is possible to move between worlds or roll back to the near past. And there were quite a few such ways. These are cases where mixing is possible without leaving the game. The key role is most likely played by the temporary Autosave.qs file. Based on this, the bugs of the game return to childhood, or give two swords or hats.
These files can be confused artificially, outside of the game. For example, I load Manual save1 (save number one), go to the task, at the beginning of the task I save - then the game resaves the Manual save1 file and also creates the Manual save1.hs file. Then I exit the game. This usually happens when the menu says not "save game" but "save hero" (during a quest).
Next, I rename Manual save1.hs to Manual save2.hs, and the next time you start the game (save 2), the hero from save 1 will end up in save 2, although the difference between saves can be large. In theory, all files like Manual save are compatible with files like Manual save.hs
It's easier to understand all this if you look into the game's save folder, minimizing the game or exiting it. Sometimes you can see how the game creates or deletes auxiliary files.

Crazy how they didn't give any opportunity to get both in game from collecting all the books. I guess it's part of the few "choices" you actually have to make. At least there's a way to get both if you really want to, but it sucks for anyone who has already started their journey and probably picked up some books along the way.

Yeah, it's one of the few items where you can only get one or the other, plus the whole unused default Wizard Hat which could have never been intended to be used, or even used for something completely different. There's enough unused content to fill another game :P

I wonder if this glitch could be used on demon doors such as the one we get a axe for marrying,, i never married, if i could get the axe with the marriage being reverted thatd be cool, and would be cool to open and shut the doors and get the demon face back

You can use a glitch called Etemmode (don't know if Etem has something to do with it). Anyways, in this mode, you can kill demon doors and then use the summom and assassin rush glitch to clip through them. This is not a cheat btw, it's just a crazy game exploit.
