    Ivar was insane. Bjorn was one of my favorite characters

    • @creon3866
      @creon3866 Před rokem +6

      Don’t think he was insane. He wanted validation and power because of feeling powerless due to his legs. He was cruel because of his anger about his situation. It made him feel powerful. Being feared made him feel powerful. He was sane but had a cold heart. He wanted to be loved but settled for being feared. When he met his wife and she told him all the stuff about being a god etc it made him feel great and validated his ego. It went too far though since she was manipulating him and he got lost in the “godhood” thing. He knew he wasn’t a god but let himself go along with it because he had everything he wanted. He was loved by her so she had control over him. Until he killed her though when the illusion was shattered by the deformed baby. That’s just my opinion though he could well have been insane and definitely acted it sometimes. I think being insane removes the depth of his character though and makes things he did have less meaning. I think deep down Ivar was always a scared little boy who just wanted to be loved and didn’t understand why he couldn’t be like everyone else so he took it out on the world around him. I feel like his character is based around a lack of power and control and everything he does is based around gaining control back or at least doing things that make him feel as though he has control.
