I really love this game, the soundtrack is awesome. Every time I go back to it I remember how terrible the unit pathfinding was though. Your units would slowly shuffle around trying to arrange themselves on the terrain grid or conga line around obstacles and run one by one into the enemy.
Conga line around obstacles is indeed an accurate description of the pathfinding in this game :) Still, I have very fond memories of playing this game. I remember playing the demo from a PC gamer magazine demo disc. It had the first and third level of the JDA campaign. I was completely mesmerized by the setting. Plus, the 3D approach to an RTS was very new to me. I played that demo over and over. Much to my surprise, I stumbled on a copy of this game in a regular supermarket. Back in 2001, they had a small section of PC games. For anyone from Belgium reading this, it was in a Colruyt, of all places. Somehow, I was able to convince my mom to buy the game for me. I was 12 years old at the time, and although my parents weren’t keen on video games, she could tell that I was really excited about the game. I spent so many hours on this game, and had an absolute blast with it.

A few years later i stumbled across dark reign 2 in a multimedia store that was shuttint down, and the game was only 5-10 euros! Mom got it for me. I was probably 9 at the time, must have been in 2002 or 2001. I played it for years and sank many hours into it!! The OST in one of the best from any game.
Track 1 = One of the reasons why I got attracted to computer games. Sometimes, someday, someone creates a masterpiece like this. Ahhhh..... I'd be torn between this track and CTF Face 2 from Unreal Tournament i trying to decide which one is better!!!

I just purchased this game on GOG and realized the game had no sound track??? I felt cheated so I came here :'(
in old games, the sountrack was on the disk, like an audio disk. The first song was the data, after came the soundtrack
Back in the day I played online as sticky125 with some random people making friends was awesome
Wasn't quite as good as the first Dark Reign's soundtrack, but still fantastic!
