such a great video, thanks for explaining the keyframe stuff. I was cracking my head trying to do it because a guy on YT forgot to teach the keyframe part.
I appreciate the little things that noobs like me would fiddle over - re-clicking the clips, re-selecting the mask in effect controls to show the mask again, etc.
Dude just use a gradient wipe and soften the edge. 100x easier and faster and you could save it to an easily reuseable preset. Although your method would be excellent for drawing different mask shapes to give different looks to the transition.

Thanks. And yeah I don't like the sudden start and stop of recording either. It's something I'm working on fixing but it's likely a settings issue. I have the yeti blue one.
You just need to make two more frame points. One for starting the effect and one for ending it. At the second frame, just drag the box to the right and there you go.
Why not just use a linear wipe set angle to 270-degrees start at 100% complete and end at 0%, then make the edge of the wipe very soft, like 300 feather. Boom. Done.

instead he could just use adobe audition's AI for removing noises that does the work very good
