yeah its not that easy dude retyping letters doesn't change the type of file lol the ignorance 🤣 such crude methods wont work most of the time. mkv is container but premiere rejects the file not just because of the extension/container but because it usually doesn't support codecs that container has. in most case you will get glitchy corrupted file or audio that is not working properly. you have to encode the whole file into another format like avi or mp4. you have to use some software that supports mkv for that.. like Handbrake for example

if you realise premier pros audio volume controls take over your PCs volume control make sure in the default output to select "system default" - (your headphones) rather than "headset" (your headphones)
