Best looking 40 series I’ve ever seen
This is definitely the best Landy-build at the moment in Australia, so much attention to detail. Well done and keep it up. From a South African fan.
nah watch patriot games fj45 build that shit is a sema car
landy? this is a cruiser not a land rover
Cheers Terence! Greeting from Australia!
@@flamingcows2381 still pre cool tho bro dont discount it
Cannot wait to see (and hear) this thing move under its own steam. Absolutely amazing.
Cheers Rhys!!
Hands down best looking 40. Something about sandy and black just looks wicked, awesome job man. Very interesting and professional built. Hats off to you.
Thank you!!!
Would never have this car left out on the road overnight. Looks amazing
Looking absolutely brilliant mate
Sweetest build ever. Wow, just wow!!
Hell yes Richard!! Looks so good mate 👌 The end result is a credit to all of the hard work and late nights from you and your mates!!
Cheers Geoff!
Wow 😮 unreal mate. I hope you feel extremely proud of yourself. Must be lying awake like a kid before Christmas waiting to drive it. An idea might be to Dynabolt some tie down points into the concrete floor of the garage and use your winch to pull it back into the shed. Happy days
Can confirm thats the feeling I have right now. Now theres and idea, I like it..... thank you
This will be one of a thousands of comments that will tell you that it's what you envisioned 18 months ago and have nailed it. I'm jealous as and I would never normally say that just because a LC with a FORD engine 👊 but you have engineered it and it's spot on dude hope you have years of fun in her..
Thank you mate, appreciate the support!
So stoked for this Richard, can’t wait to lay my eyes on her in person!
Dang 😈 !! Killing buddy. Ya making a killer ride… 👍🏻
I wouldn’t sleep at night while it was at the auto electricians for a few weeks so theres no way in hell i would park that in the street looks awesome
Looks great! Should paint Barra cover sandy. Also have you thought about going full airbag replacements front and rear instead of coils - could fix the garage height problem without having to modify the garage?
Cheers Oliver - good suggestion, I'll look into it. Torn on the Sandy Barra cover, it might be too much sandy!
@@DesignedandBuilt that's true mate, looks unreal the way it is now! Refreshing to have content come out that involves this much detail and skill, good job mate!
Looks pretty spectacular, you can see all the time and effort you put into such a great vehicle
I think it looks beautiful... A job very well done.. looking forward to seeing it in action... well done brother!
So cool Rich! Congrats!
Really breaks the black up with the taupe rear arch👌👌
was so on the fence about it, but glad I did it!
Showroom build man sooooo freaken tidy jealousy runs deep
Thanks Todd!!!
The Mog strikes again 👌 great work 🤙
I absolutely can not wait for your first drive video! You reap what you sow in life , and you have the best crop around! Keep at it and cut no corners ! Regards Tony.
Cheer Tony, really like that saying!
Looks awesome bro!
Do some fibreglass floor tubs. That fit the space and contain all the mud. You should be able to make them pop in and out with black resin to match.
Cheers Bill, cracking idea.
Replace the coils with bags and drop the bags to get in the garage. I'm sure airbagman would help you out.
So sick dude! Impressed AF
Looks so good one of the cleanest 45 builds
Awesome work mate! Worth every hour.👍👌
Change the door out I had to the same to fit 100 series in do it once how you want you will love it 👍🍻 great job
Congratulations!😍 Nice job!!!!
Great progress and stimulating content
Amazing work ! Truly inspiring...... I can't wait to get mine finished. Again, congrats on a job well done
🙏🏼
Man this thing is amazing!!!! I just watch the entire build so far in a day!!! Was searching for custom air box and it popped up. Great work can't wait to see it finished!!!!
Cheers Julian :)
absolutely gorgeous vehicle sir, can't wait to see it on some dirt
Well done so far mate! Looking really good!
Looks unreal, amazing work
Keep up the good work looks mint.
Looks mint, job well done!
Followed the whole build, love it
Dude, killer job. And I love the sneaky lightbar above the windscreen, which kinda doubles as a bit of a visor. Great work mate, at the pointy end now. And I can't wait to see it in person. You're an absolute legend. Once again, great work. Top tier.
Cheers Brian! Thanks for all the support, can't wait to show you IRL!
It’s coming out great well done
🙏🏼
Super awesome build, I love how it turned out.
You should be really proud of your work!
Thank you, appreciate the support!
Killing it as always mate.
done an awesome job mate, looks mint
Hey Richard love the build mate keep the great work up could not look better love the videos keep it up
You built a work of art man! For your first build you killed it💪🏼I hope you are proud of what you have been able to do
Thank you Riley, I certainly am proud :) just gotta bring it home now
Quality build, it’s a tough looking 45 👌
this is definitely a #NEAT4X4!
So Good! 👌
Tru-fit Carpets and vinyls for flooring options
So sick man! Congrats on 10k
Cheers Joel, thanks for the support 👊
Definitely wouldn’t mind it being out on the street a couple nights not all the time though looks amazing great job🥳
This build is just amazing
Can't wait to see her on the road!
Preaching to the choir!!!
Looks good
Bloody oath mate been watching since ep 1 this is amazing
So perfect.
Looks 👌 would like it see garage mods
What a great creation. Your attention to detail is of a high standard. I like the Colour contrast. Wise to use a Toyota Colour. Sandy Taupe. Looks great.
I would definitely lock this Vehicle away. Store it inside!
Thank you Andy, appreciate your support :)
This thing is so sick
Mate, again…bloody awesome. Two things: 1. Loved the paint scheme (as mentioned before). Not a suggestion but my thought only. A white roof would’ve looked good too (kinda like the old factory look). But saying that, looks great as is. 2. Before you fit off the glass in the doors, place some pieces of “car-builders” on the inner door skin. The door will sound A LOT less tinny plus help curb the road noise. Don’t stress if you can’t place it every where, every bit will count. Again, a suggestion only. Keep 🤘
Thanks Petro, cheers for that suggestion, I had eyed it off but it seemed like to the too hard basket so I'll give it a crack.
Super ep richie. Love it! Great engineered solutions and quality workmanship. Only tip if you plan on a lot of offroad use: spring washers and red loctite on everything. To compliment your nylocks. You will be amazed how nuts and bolts work loose if doing a lot of offtoad work
Thanks Mike, I have blue loc-tited most things, maybe I'll just upgrade to red as they rattle loose? Yeah interesting you mention spring washers, I have done a lot of reading into them and there is the school of thought that says they are completely useless. I wish I had some proper data to understand it better, so I haven't been using them as much as I possibly should have been!
@@DesignedandBuiltexperience has taught me to red loctite add spring washers and nylocks on just about every fitted part. Many miles of offroad use will rattle loose even the tightest of nuts or bolts. Particularly inland tracks in Australia. Gota love corrugated roads 😉
Good shit mate! Yeew!!
Been keen for this episode for a while your time has paid off 👌sick build
Looks so nice!! I hope engeneering goes well!!
Looks unreal brother! An idea for the interior flooring, it's a bit different but you could try EVA tread. Most commonly used in marine applications but might suit your needs.
Cheers Dylan, I just looked into it and I really like the idea. Wonder how it would stand the test of time?
👍 for the Mog
Let’s go baby been here since ep1 :) grats on 10k subs fo
Thanks Coolen, cheers for the support from day 1!
Looks amazing mate well done
🙏🏼
“It came out alright in the end” - understatement of the year! Looks great. Best of luck with the engineer. Cut your lawn ;)
haha cheers Rhys, all household chores were paused for the last month or so, I can assure you the lawn was the first thing that got my attention and is looking luscious now.
Hey Richard , l had a troopy many years ago and did a 307 chev and 5 speed 60 series manual conversion . Just thought id throw my 5 cents worth into the ring ! You may want to consider taring the underside of the guards as it will cut down a lot of road noise and also protect it from stone chips! It does not make it look bad if you do a neat job as it is a black finish that stands up to pressure washing absolutely. All the best dude , i may see you at the motorex show with a little bit of luck! Regards Tony.
100 % agree with you, do you have a product you are talking about specificially? I was thinking about black raptor on the bottom and then clear wrapping the top?!
Im sorry im a little out of touch with products nowadays. But back in the day you could get a 4 litre can of tar (black goop ) and generally you would either paint brush it on or thin it and spray through a special spray gun. Ideally the finished thing would be a very resilient coating about 4 or 5 mm thick! Im pretty sure it was known as body deadener! Regards Tony.
Looks absolutely awesome and great achievement. Only one thing in my opinion I would of painted the grill original cream/white for a bit of contrast. Congratulations on the build. So close to rego you must be over the moon.
Thank you! Can confirm I am over the moon :)
A panel-lift door would probably pick up the height you need and you definitely need to keep it indoors.
The black is working a lot better now with the sandy taupe to break it up. I'll suggest you look at Jonathon Ward's channel and see how he does the floor mats in his ICON builds. It might give you a few ideas on how you can tackle the floor in the FJ. Overall looking very nice, you should be very pleased with the result.
Thank you Jason, I'll look into it.
Nice work!
Thank you!
No street sleeps for the big girl!. It'd be in my lounge room! Remove the lounge room window knock out a couple bricks and install roller door, all before the Mrs gets home!!🤣👍
🤣 on the cards I reckon
SICK RIG.👍.
I've raised and Installed roller doors, it's not the easiest but two high lifts, block and tackles will get it higher for new mounts
Love the build man, just one thing I would of done is got the bolts all power coated the bolts black, but everything else I love
Keep it up
Thanks Riley, I don't know that powdercoated bolts would last long unfortunately... I agree. Black bolts would look much better. I think I could get them blasted and anodised etc but a fair bit of hassle.
Love it
GOOD THING!!!!!!!!!!! UP YA GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙏🏼
Fantastic job Richard and friends, it looks great, yes it looks like a 45, BUT, it's YOUR 45 mate !!! Absolutely right mate it should be garaged but just how you're going to do that is going to be a big shed mod in itself. I love everything about the truck, the headlights, light bar, dash setup, just brilliant Buddy. For me it's been edge of the seat stuff waiting to see what comes next, I like the suttle silver bits, the high mount and the fair lead at the front just to add an extra accent. Are you going to sound deaden the inside of the bonnet? Well done Buddy. Seeya Rob
Cheers Rob! Thanks for all your support. I haven't really thought about it, I guess I'll see how it goes initially and if its tinny I certainly will.
Look awesome and you should definitely get vinyl instead of carpet
Cheers Denzel, will do.
Congratulations Richard! The car has come up amazing. Colour scheme works really well. Looking forward to seeing it in action. Now you have the fan base, what's the next project? 😋 If I remember correctly you were planning something sexy on the back for carrying the bikes.
Thanks Adrian, I think I'm going to take a little bit of time off and enjoy the car before I start the next big project. If the vehicle weighs in and I still have enough left over to build what you're alluding to I certainly will!
Looks fantastic and you should be very proud of what you have achieved. With regards to the doors; I know that the space is very tight, but have you considered lining them with something like liquid rubber to dampen the tinniness?
Cheers Andrew, I think I might try and stuff some more carbuilders in!
Looks great 👍 would you fit a grab handle for the passenger above the glovebox. But definitely not on the street a work of art like this should live in the shed.
I welded over all the mounts, I’ll put some in on the a pillars!
Richard have a look at Nolans website as sell a pvc backed 2x1m low tight pile Heckmondwike bonded polypropylene expo tile thats impervious and won't hold dirt but big enough to cut to fit for both sides. Then removable if wet and can be steam or high pressure cleaned. ☺
Thank you, could be the product for me.
Awesome job mate, can't wait to see the finished product. What is the direction of your channel once this build is completed, are going to build something else, like a canopy I hope so because I have enjoyed the build from the first episode.
Hey Trevor, I have a lifetime full of projects that I want to do: boats, cars & other vehicles. I want to give myself a few years to enjoy this car before I tackle the next big one. In the interim I'll build a canopy and do a fit-out, also might put out selective trip videos!
Should have put the usb outlets on the rib in the overhead console save the cords dangling down
That is a good idea, really should have done it. Next build...
Love this build, have you considered a different snorkel head?
Thanks Cory, I personally like the ram head on 40 series so I haven't considered anything else!
Looks awesome! would love a Barracruiser too. Taking orders?
🤣 not at this stage
Hey mate what door handles are they? Ute looks unreal mate good stuff.
Just the standard FJ45 ones from 1973 mate!
Looks amazing and I bet it will go just as good, your garage is to small so keep it in mine👍
🤣
Awesome look too mate. As good as it gets. Where is the tare weight once you know? Also whats your engineering scope as might need advice for the lil shogun om606 project...
Thanks mate, I'll let you know! DM me for specifics
@@DesignedandBuilt found an emgineer who has made me realise as the mk2 shoguns are commercial NA class I should be fine with the 'slight' increase in power. Aiming like you for a softer tune at 400bhp 😊
Lol, did you just influencer out at 00:26? 😂😂😂
💯 I don’t drink the coolade often, but when I do I’ll make sure you know about it 😂 had to rep the free sunnies and hat
Was behind you today and your brake lights are stuck on most of the time or flicker on and off rapidly, may need to adjust the brake light switch on the pedal or something 👌
Cheers for letting me know :) I'll sort it out
What auto elec are sending it to?
Hi mate just watched the opposition 45 series build I was just wondering if you had to get an engineering certificate to get your car registered I find your vehicle a much better quality than there’s
Cheers Geoff, certainly do!
Would a suckdown winch front and rear be enough to get under the door?
I don't think so!
Another quality episode mate. Are you planning to run billet axles?
Not at this stage, have you had any experience with them vs stock?
@@DesignedandBuilt yes, they will obviously take a fair bit more but in a 4x4 you are more incline to be further away so that said if u do break one it can go down line to next weakest point which may not be repaired on the track. Sometimes it's better to have a standatt one break for ease of repair and standart are cheaper, I would personally try stock first 👍
What are you guna do after the build?
Have a rest! Enjoy the car, save up and build something else. I have a lifetime worth of things I want to build, boats, cars etc! We’ll get there eventually.
Is that a battery on back wall behind drivers seat ? What one ?
Hi Shane, yep its a 110 AH Baintech battery.
@@DesignedandBuilt thank you, it fitts well 👍
How much power?
300kw at the flywheel!
