It’s taken me 2 years and 3000 hours to get to this point which includes many hours contributed by my friends, a little outsourced work and plenty of off-road testing.

90k in 2 years. In a typical year there are about 2,000 working hours, so this build took as much as a 3/4 time job. :)

I know exactly what goes through your mind when you open the door to the Toyota, sit down and turn the ignition, a big smile involuntarily happens and you keep smiling all the way to your destination. I’ve owned and restored 31 vintage Military Vehicles (all but one was American) and some were extremely rare but in time, they came together along with the help of great friends, I couldn’t have done it without them.

Wishing is for fairy tales. Quite honestly, you can acquire any skill you wish to be proficient at. Effort is the first requirement. Restore an old bicycle or something simple to start. Just start, my friend.
This is fantastic - the build and the video! I had a HJ40 shorty so I can relate. The Barra engine will give you plenty of torque too.
With time, talent and resources combined you can make beautiful things. Amazing job.
