- Join Kevin as he sits down with American movie icon and arguably the nicest man on the planet, Tom Hanks, as he discusses the many roles he plays in the film industry. Tom chats about the hectic press schedule for Forrest Gump leading him to write, direct, and star in his own film; how the role of Jimmy Dugan changed his acting choices; and his stance on Disneyland traditions.
I swear that Hanks could do the KPCS 5 times and still keep the show fresh without repeating any discussion points. Just so entertaining.
Talented man, Tom Hanks. Chris Rock said that Tom Hanks was THE funniest standup comic among many comics, while Hanks was appearing in clubs in preparation for his role in Punchline.
Please, please , , , lose the hat.
Kevin doesn’t need the sidekick gambit and I find it incredibly annoying. Otherwise, I love his style of interview and wit.
Single best guest appearance on any form of media I have ever seen. In the moment, self-deprecrating, warm, witty and even a through line of quality callbacks. Unbelievable. Tom Hanks deserves everything he has gotten in life.
Tom Hanks is one of the funniest people on this planet. I laughed harder for him than the funniest comedians who have been on here. OMG! Laugh out loud funny.
Another reason to love Tom Hanks: Disneyland purist. Changes make him berserk. EXACTLY ME.
Tom Hanks is exactly as Tom Hanks as you want him to be.
Who misses movies like The Money Pit! I miss his comedy but I also love Sleepless in Seattle, that has to be one of my favorite movies
why did it take so long for me to find these interviews, anyone who loves movies wants exactly this. Your favorite actors, real talk an over two hours long. Pollak is a genius he's getting Interviews people on TV would kill for.
I really dont get how anyone could ever talk smack about tom hanks.. hes in my opinion the best actor ever.. show some fucking respect
It bothers me just how riveted I am by this man's American Experience. He is absolutely fascinating to me.
Tom Hanks is pure class.
Holy fucking shit, you got Tom Hanks to come on. I thought it was great that you got Michael C. Hall but this is just... amazing!
How come this show is not more famous, great conversations and this particular enterview is just so enjoyable.
Wandering around the internet wasteland and stumbled, happily, into this gem. Thank you, Mr. Pollak!
Kevin I'm a huge fan of you and your work.
Talented actor. When he did Punchline in 1988, he put together a stand-up act and went on stage in NYC to prepare for the role. It was Chris Rock or Larry Miller who said that Hanks was funnier than any of the other comedians, funnier than Rock, Miller, Seinfeld, etc. That's impressive.
THIS is absolute GOLD if you're a Tom Hanks fan! Memorable moment:
