ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.
The Oxford Union is deeply grateful and encouraged by the messages of support in response to our determination to uphold free speech. During our 200 year history, many have tried to shut us down. As the effects of self-imposed censorship on university campuses, social media and the arts show no signs of dissipating, the importance of upholding free speech remains as critical today as it did when we were founded in 1823. Your support is critical in enabling The Oxford Union to continue its mission without interruption and without interference. You can support the Oxford Union here: oxford-union.org/supportus

Tom Hanks deserved a better interviewer. She had no idea how to challenge him or know anything about his enormous body of work.

Its funny he mentions the pentagon and the three dart finish but doesn’t put the Script together

The host or presenter needs a LOT more practice, as I felt she was abysmal and super flat with low, dull energy (sadly), but Mr. Hanks opened my eyes to a great deal of the business or process of film-making. Hear, Hear! I see now why he’s at the very top of his game. So impressed with the message (even when he was clearly under the weather)! 😢 I wish him a speedy recovery…

Friends is just plain awesome. It's a fantastic series you can watch in your 20s and then again in your 40s and still think it's a great show. Can you name any other series that spans such a wide age range? This show was made for families of all ages. Sure, there are plenty of great movies and series today, but nothing quite compares to Friends.

A fan sharing his feelings with the actor was brilliantly captured in the first episode of 'Only Murders in the Building.' I don't think you can get any closer to that odd feeling, and it's funny that this story was worked into the show. It must have been weird to play it

Tom is unbelievably charismatic and I imagine his actors love working with him and for him.

Watching this, I am reminded of how bloody old I am. Seems like yesterday I was watching 'Turner and Hootch', 'Big', 'Sleepless in Seattle', 'Bachelor Party etc

Don’t believe in the story theory, it’s about the whole package 📦 the story and the way how it’s told. And cinema is a way how to tell it

It’s literally being at the right place at the right time, having the right connections, being born or living in California, and a lot of serendipitous good luck and no one will admit that too be so true and mercury being in 💯 retrograde helps too!!! 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🧦💯👋🌻✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅

First This man loves typewriters and he probably types his work up….. did she know that about Tom Hanks???

  • @garthdebruyn7195

Listening to Tom Hanks made me think that if I could choose 10 close friends, that pushed me to think more about life, Tom Hanks would be one of the 10. I see him as both a profound thinker and humble.

  • @OzzieBenzC300

Can we not wait til this guy is dead to acknowledge how much joy and happiness he has brought to all of our lives along the years. Thanks Tom Hanks for all the laughs, tears and all the range of emotions you have made us feel! You sir are a national treasure! I want to thanks him from the bottom of my heart! I don’t have any social media so I can’t post it straight to his account so if someone can copy and paste to his Facebook or whatever other social media he uses I would be very grateful! Thanks again!

  • @freemagicfun

I really liked his comparison of movie theater experience v streaming experience. The art will survive, the business model will change. 😎

  • @TraitofSiNN727

  • @Yourmission9

Tom Hanks is my favorite actor, and Forrest Gump is my favorite film. That’s the one film I can watch over and over and never get bored of

  • @christanzer

the film director is the viewer of the film, that the film makes it, and the actor has to follow, for the story to see or watch the film !! Great interview !! thanks

  • @clarkparker4860
