    IWC Ingenieur Review - thedeeptrack.com/video-review...
IWC makes some great sport watches today, but looking back just a few decades reveals some truly epic tool watches that just hit differently. This is the Fliegerchronograph 3706 from the mid '90s, and it says something important about where IWC was, and where it is today. Catch more details on this one over at The Deep Track right here: thedeeptrack.com/video-the-iw...

Great job, Blake. I really appreciate you focusing on neo-vintage. It’s much better that watching yet another CZcamsr reviewing the same new releases without a break.

Great look back at this fantastic watch Blake!
    I like the 3706 a lot!
Choosing an IWC Pilot Chronograph I was hesitant between this 3706 and its successor the 3717. To be fair I love both very much! But I ended up purchasing the successor of the 3706 (the 3717) and I’m very pleased with it.
Might be a hot (probably more warm) take but the 3706 felt a bit small on my 18cm wrist.
The issues with the domed crystal and lack of proper AR combined with the matte anthracite dial also turned me off and looked a bit washed out and faded to my eyes. The 3706 looks definitely more vintage than its successor.
I adore the legibility and the fine texture of the 3717’s dial, it full of contrast and crystal clear. The colour matched calendar is very welcome as well. I find its thickness present but perfectly acceptable and comfortable on wrist, it even slips under a shirt cuff in my experience.
In a perfect world, I would love a 40,5 or 41mm diameter pilots chronograph with a lug to lug slightly under 50mm. I would also look to see IWC using oversized half-onion Big Pilot crowns on their chronographs, it would looks so great! ... one has to accept and enjoy the available product of course.

Congrats on the 3717! Another great reference for sure. Would also love to see a modern 40.5 chrono, or at least a shortened lug. If they could shave even a mm off the thickness that would go a long way as well!

Love this direction, this video as well as the one on the seiko 7002 are amazing. I love both watches! Thank you

That squared off hour hand. For me, it's the dominant design feature of this thing. It's subtle, and so distinctive.
Also, in my eyes the pushers are just the right height and diameter. They really scream I AM A TOOL. Or whatever that is in Swiss German. It probably sounds totally awesome and tool-like.

I am a big fan of this watch, and I think this is the first time I've seen someone demonstrate (or maybe even mention) the highly reflective crystal. Which is good, because I can stop thinking about owning one. I would be interested in a 3714 video. Also, goo d luck with the new channel.

I like your approach on this channel. I wish you success. That IWC is on my shortlist right behind a JLC Reverso 976.

Excuse Sir, the Pilot's Chronograph 41 is absolutely phenomenal. As an owner of the racing green one, I can attest.

No doubt! I've got no issues with the newer references, they are very nice watches. However, they've changed quite a bit since the '90s, and I'd say some of the charm of the older tool watches has fallen by the wayside in favor of a more luxurious experience (nothing necessarily wrong with that) - and I think these older references are still worth appreciating and understanding.

Well done! Sinn has a verry comparable watch in their lineup. What are your thoughts about the sinn 358?
Aah that aquatimer 2000 in titanium, what a beauty, i went finally with the Pelagos two liner OG for my daily driver but hell, what a watch. Please do a review about that one!!

Excuse sir, the last great iwc chronograph of the previous era was not this but instead were the Dopplechrono 3711 and 3713 created by Richard Habring for IWC. Collectively their contribution to the horological history with this invention way surpass any other run of the mill iwc chrono.
