Best Diver of Watches & Wonders 2024? Zenith Defy Extreme Diver Hands-On
I'm quite torn between the two. On one hand I really love the classic look of the black dial, it's a true icon. On the other I like the white one, I think it's the black bezel that doesn't quite sit 100% with me, not sure. But I think the classic black dial is the one I'm going for.
I love the new Speedmaster in white and think it looks better then the panda Daytona...
Is there a rarity of it in the States? In Germany you can pick it up all day at any AD.
Not hard to find at all just about omega aren't exactly hard to find tbh
Such a cool watch. It is a little thick for me, though
The watch market it dead.
Face down in the pool
I was fortunate enough my amazing wife was able to find one for me. It's a beautiful watch that wears so well on the wrist. I have a 7 inch wrist size with 3 links removed and its so comfortable to wear. That white dial though is something else. I can honestly say it is a beautiful watch and Omega got this one just right 👍
I love my lume. 😢
Question, why did you say that the speedy is more wearable? The Daytona is smaller on the wrist and not as thick. Were you focusing on scratches? If so, that makes sense
I should have been clearer there - the Daytona is the more comfortable watch, but the Speedmaster is more wearable in the sense that there's less pomp and circumstance involved. You put it on and just wear it. To be fair, that's how I'd suggest approaching the Daytona as well, but it's a bit tricker at this moment in time.
@@TheDeepTrack thought so, totally makes sense. Thanks for the response
My Speedies are 1960s ones, for they bring back my 1960s childhood memories. My scratched 321 from 1967 is my absolute grail. A 2024 won't do. But the new white one looks very nice, but it won't be for me.
I'd seriously be keen to get this. I'm content to wait, though. Wait lists for one is stupid long. It'll die down and be more available later.
Love the outdoors and love the sound quality!
Lovely watch. Would have been lovelier with black subdials, imho.
Great video! I’m really hopping to get one of these for my wedding at the end of September. It’s seeming pretty unlikely at this point
Omega hit a home run with this release. Other than the lume not being quite as good as the black dial, it's near perfect. However, my buddy pointed out that's not why anyone buys the Speedy and he's right. As long as it's got lume, I'm good. I've tried this white dial on at my preferred AD. It is absolutely gorgeous in person. I definitely have it on my eventual want list, but the TAG Heuer Skipper and hopefully a blue Pelagos 39 (come on, Tudor) would have be ahead of it.
I have a MN22 FXD and wear it every day. I'm very pleased. It's easy to read and the bezel is very useful (cooking eggs 😊). I love the fixed lugs and have now different straps. I change straps according to my mood or colours I wear. Great daily watch, robust, practical, precise and good looking - it became my favourite amongst the collection.
Great release by Omega. I love legibility on my watches and this has it in spades. I'm also glad they chose the sapphire sandwich model to introduce this as I enjoy seeing the movement and having the applied Omega logo on the dial.
watchdives version is nice too
i can get this watch for only 22k great deal
My first luxury and Rolex watch. Mine is 25 years old now and still hasn't been serviced but it's still super accurate.
Just purchased one of these in Japan after two years of consideration. It's in great cosmetic shape but might need a service from Zenith, which I will happily pay for. Such a sleeper gem really needs to be preserved well.
I got a MN23 FXD and wear it on an elastic pass through Watch Gecko Octopod strap & buckle. Keeping the original two straps not used. Love wearing it. Flys under the radar.
Great look back at this fantastic watch Blake! I like the 3706 a lot! Choosing an IWC Pilot Chronograph I was hesitant between this 3706 and its successor the 3717. To be fair I love both very much! But I ended up purchasing the successor of the 3706 (the 3717) and I’m very pleased with it. Might be a hot (probably more warm) take but the 3706 felt a bit small on my 18cm wrist. The issues with the domed crystal and lack of proper AR combined with the matte anthracite dial also turned me off and looked a bit washed out and faded to my eyes. The 3706 looks definitely more vintage than its successor. I adore the legibility and the fine texture of the 3717’s dial, it full of contrast and crystal clear. The colour matched calendar is very welcome as well. I find its thickness present but perfectly acceptable and comfortable on wrist, it even slips under a shirt cuff in my experience. In a perfect world, I would love a 40,5 or 41mm diameter pilots chronograph with a lug to lug slightly under 50mm. I would also look to see IWC using oversized half-onion Big Pilot crowns on their chronographs, it would looks so great! ... one has to accept and enjoy the available product of course.
Congrats on the 3717! Another great reference for sure. Would also love to see a modern 40.5 chrono, or at least a shortened lug. If they could shave even a mm off the thickness that would go a long way as well!
All tool watch fans need to check this out. It was a great conversation.
This was a great way to spend an afternoon in New York. Watches and illustration! Thanks for letting me borrow your Zenith Rainbow. I just checked my luggage and I don’t see it anywhere so I’m pretty sure I didn’t take it with me 😬.
Thanks again for the opportunity to film the process! Now to find a suitable frame...
Very cool
Such an incredible experience & such great company!
it is my only Tudor .. love it ... I use it with a Garmin nylon strap(perfect fit)... the original velcro is not quite good, the rubber is ok...
Me too!
Absolutely love mine 08 and wear daily ❤
Overlooked by who? It's a cornerstone of watch design and divers, literally a piece of history, a legendary watch. Why would write a title like that for a video? And by the way, it came after the 7548. Yes a QUARTZ. Edit: unwatchable.
In my experience (around divers and watch enthusiasts) it is indeed overlooked in relation to their other divers, for some of the reasons stated in the video. I welcome a different perspective on that, however.
James and Tony is the good left at Hodinkee
For now.....
Great conversation, I love where your channel is headed!
voted with my wallet - Sinn U50, awesome watch!
Nice! Congrats - hope you enjoy it!
I’m a drummer and have popped too many spring bars. I love my OG Pelagos and bought a San Martin fxd to try before I buy. So, I’m saving up my gig money…
Love this direction, this video as well as the one on the seiko 7002 are amazing. I love both watches! Thank you
Love the watch- great retrospective
I still have mine, purchased while on active duty in the USN 1993
I have one
Lovely watch, keep up the good work
Great video and awesome watch! Thank you
Will this watch hold its value?
Looking at other modern Tudor divers, it seems a safe bet that a small amount of depreciation will take place with this one, but should stabilize over time not too far from it's MSRP. Will largely depend on the volume entering the market, however, which remains to be seen.
Would love to see omega create an all dlc black FXD in the old military British navy sword hand configuration for SBS or SAS
Same. I do not like the skeleton hands that omega uses on their modern SMP.
One discontinued Sinn he EZM10 (pilot watch with central minute counter chronograph) Two still in the Sinn lineup: the EZM12 (“heath care watch”) and the 3006 (hunting watch) I would be verry interested to hear your opinion about them. Great vid as always!!
Well done! Sinn has a verry comparable watch in their lineup. What are your thoughts about the sinn 358? Aah that aquatimer 2000 in titanium, what a beauty, i went finally with the Pelagos two liner OG for my daily driver but hell, what a watch. Please do a review about that one!!
Thank you for the awesome interview! Andrew - thanks for the time. Blake - love your interview style. Continued success to you both!
Remember buying one of these when I was 10 great starter watch to beat up then replace after it get scratched up
10 huh
the 3705/06 is a super watch.
i wouldnt mind having one
2254.50.00/2264.50.00 BEST WATCH EVER
are they ready yet?
I like your approach on this channel. I wish you success. That IWC is on my shortlist right behind a JLC Reverso 976.
