I was fascinated by the process every second but what the heck is that mystical sheaf/cloth that went over the image? Or is that a magicians secret?

Same here, wondering what the protective sheet on top was?!? Is that the rice paper used in the process of conservation? Nice to see different process being demonstrated. Mike H.

Was that poster backed with some sort of fabric? I'm amazed it came off! Does that mean a reversible adhesive was used way-back-when to mount it?
