    bought it for the volume and the speed, but i dont need that extreme speed and still nice to see a big volume printer going that fast !

    driving neos (5: min mark) .... you can use any Pxx pin on the display EXPx ports. I have strips around the base, connected to the stock neopixel board port, and a single neo mounted up under/in between the air horns to illuminate the print head using a port on the EXP1 header. (usually used for the small lcd displays)

      @@tylersnard the quality on the 500 is not as good as 300 and 400, because of the ringing caused by the heavy gantry, which I am going to change to a CF gantry, but even with the aluminum gantry it already prints much better than my Creality bed slingers

    • @davidwang_3d
      @davidwang_3d  Před 2 lety +3

      @@tylersnard for a bed slinger that size, it will be very difficult to push higher speeds. Most importantly, have Klipper installed, and input shaper enabled. Then for the bed you want to have thicker belts and two NEMA 17s to be able to push higher accelerations on the heavy bed, and preferably linear rails for XY axis.

    Why would you ever want to convert a core XY to a cartesian ?
    Seems like a pretty obsolete kinematic in DIY printers

    • @davidwang_3d
      @davidwang_3d  Před 2 lety +7

      When I talked about "CartesianXY", I'm not talking about turning it into a bed slinger. I was talking about the cross gantry kinematics, which is still cartesian but the bed only move in Z axis, and with cross gantry, there are 4 XY motors, and shorter belts than CoreXY, which means higher accelerations from these motors and better dimentional accuracy with the shorter belts
