A real wake up call a few years later, they will feeze her bank account demanding a large sum of it. If she does not agree then her bank account will stay frozen. I had a friend that lived through that. This happened in Texas.

10 years ago my husband took his ex to court for full sole legal custody and won. Honestly, she didn't even fight it. Just said "okay". Her mom pays him a whopping $50 a month (she can afford more), which covers a whole lot of nothing. We give her the $ every month so she has spending money as its for HER not us, and are more than happy to take care of everything else she needs ourselves. My step daughter is now 16 years old, and has lived with us full time for nearly 11 years. She's thriving, is a straight A student, doing amazing in everything, and luckily has her dad's brains. We couldn't be happier and more proud of her ❤

@@katdbrisshe mentioned very sporadic shifts. My aunt is a nurse and has essentially "odd" jobs because she doesn't work at a hospital. Hospice, prison nurses, in- home patients, tele-health and online nursing are all ways to make money but they can be spotty with income

Where was this judge when i was a kid. By the time i graduated highschool my dad owed over $20,000. Never paid it. When my mom took him to court he just happened to lose his job. Mom did have a job but we were barely making it.
When I was 19 the judge ordered $200 a month child support for my son who is now over 30. I never saw a pennybof it and im ok with that as we had no contact

For people in the medical field there insurance for work sucks real bad. It's non profit. My mother was a nurse for 30 years we were on my father's insurance and at those times -80s it was great. When he pasted away moms insurance was real bad. I'm a pipefitter in Chicago and my insurance is great thank God

I took care of both of my kids every day. I fed them ( I admit that I am a horrible cook) but they were fed. They were clean. Had clean clothes. I paid for piano lessons, dance class, t-ball and soccer plus drum lessons. I bought a keyboard and drum set and my dad was a musician who played key boards and gave my daughter a synthesizer exactly like he used. I also worked full time in a factory and worked overtime when it was offered. Plus I paid day care.
There is no excuse for not paying for your kids. I didn't buy my kids designer clothes. I couldn't afford it. If they wanted more than Walmart clothes, they had to babysit, mow lawns or whatever to pay for it. When they got to be 10 years old, they were expected to wash their own clothes and help around house. I did not give allowance. I couldn't afford it. It was a case of you live here, you help around the house.
Maybe I was wrong but both of my kids grew up to be hard working responsible adults that I am proud of.. ❤

My daughters ex NEVER paid and never got in trouble for it. She finally gave up cause they would tell him to pay in court and he still wouldn't. She had him put in jail ONE time and his other paid $3,000 to get him out and my daughter got that money, but he still to this day owes her about $45,000, which she will never see and he makes 6 figures every year. Some people are luckier than others, with better judges.
All she has to do is take that back to court and ask for his wages to be garnished.
She may only get $25.00 a month, after the court taking their cut.
But,
When he dies, anything he has is hers to sell the debt.
So if he is married to someone else, if he has
Property with his name on it, a car, a home she can sell it to get her money before any heirs get their cut.
It’s a pain, but while they laugh at thinking they have gotten away with it, she will have the last laugh.
@@auntiem873 Actually he spends EVERY dime he has on wine, women and cars, so he has nothing. Plus she signed off on it cause it was more hassle than she wanted to bare at the time. The child is an adult now. She will never get a dime from him. She knows it and has resigned herself to him being a deadbeat dad, but now their son and he work together and get along most of the time, so it's a lost cause, just like he is.

I was a nurse lpn made 12.02 hr. And my child support was 1,000.00 a month and i told him keep my alimony on top of that i had the kids half the time the court didn't give a shit that i couldn't even pay my utilities

The judge doesn't determine the amount. The state does.
It's a formula based upon the person's income and the difference between what the children would have had if the parents were living together and their incomes were combined and what the children would have experienced in that home at the time. That's why the Hollywood divorces are so horrible because they don't get spousal support anymore they get child support and oh boy yeah they can say I need a million dollars a month for my child to live in the luxury they were living in Now for themselves but for what the child was used to look at what oh crap I can't remember that guy's name The Yellowstone star is going through right now. She keeps taking him back to court for the kids support what they need and it's just astronomical Oh yes and the house The house needs to be what they were used to what they were used to living in well she's the one who slept around she's the one who screwed around she's the one who left but the kids need the house to be like what they had when they were living with that why don't you just let them live with Dad? Are you insane? The average cost to raise a child is $320,000 not including college. Interesting enough that's about what this woman paid, but that was based off of her income, most verdicts are for much less than this.

Yes times change. Back in 1990s I had three sons. Two teen one 11 got only $400 a monthly. That was it. I was making $9 hours clerical office work.
I got my two sons in a divorce in 1979 they were 2 & 3 years old. The lawyers told me not to ask for child support because, the judges don’t want to lock up mothers for not making child support payments. We live in rural central Kentucky. What gets me she deserved to loose her children. And never had to worry about child support. When in many cases there where good men that wasn’t at fault of the divorce and lost custody of their children to a cheating wife and have to pay child support.
Now let's address all the deadbeat dads out there. Shame on them too.

I raised 5 kids on my own without a penny except what I earned. No matter how hard i tried, he paid nothing. Every year i got a statement from the child qelfare collections telling me how much he owed me for that year, it always ended with ' Amount collected £0.00
