  • Tony Reyes Fishing Tours hold such a special place in my heart!
    Not only for the fishing, but the journey as well! The landscape and scenery we have the privilege of seeing, exploring, and fishing makes this adventure so special and a one of a kind experience!
    The food is phenomenal, including fresh caught fish of your choice.
    Yellowtail, Cabrilla, Triggerfish, Jacks, Amberjack, Grouper, etc! You name it, they can prepare it the second you are done fishing!
    In this video, I was able to check off not only a species I have always wanted to catch, being a Flag Cabrilla. I also, finally got to check off eating a fish I have always wanted to try, but could never bring myself to do so, being a Spotted Bay Bass.
    Eating a spotted bay bass is something I would never do in the states, but they live in a lot healthier water and are LITTERED all over the Sea of Cortez, so I did see this as a great opportunity to try one for the first time ever!
    I hope you all enjoyed this episode. Make sure to watch episode 1, if you have not already done so!

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  Před měsícem +1

      Heavy calico rods pretty much.
      15-30 or 15 / 20-40 lb bass rod, with a 300 or 400 baitcasters spooled up with 65lb braid

      Thanks man! Trip is best to book through Longfin Tackle.
      Runs between $1400 - $2000 depending on how many people go and what time of year.
      All inclusive, 3 meals a day, 2 fishing sessions per day, Drinks and Beer included, and fish cleaning included.
      Bring extra cash for tips for your captain, topside crew, and kitchen crew.
      You do have to drive down to San Felipe for the trip departure, and you drive back with all of your fish.

    When fishing for yellowtail on an iron or tuna and stuff do you need a floro leader or can you use mono? In what situations do you use fluorocarbon or straight mono to the jig/rig like a sinker rig or knife jig?

    • @carp_smokin_a_blunt
      @carp_smokin_a_blunt Před měsícem +1

      For me as a rule of thumb I’ll do 2 wraps of mono on my reel and then about an arms length of floro usually 4-8 ft for knife jigs I’ll do straight braid to bite leader to maximize braid capacity when I do straight braid to mono is when we dropper loop or throw jigs for bass .

      @@socalfishincrew5410 but usually it’s personal preference just note for jigs use floro and especially use floro on flyline

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  Před měsícem +1

      It’s honestly all personal preference for how people want to rig up. A lot of people like to do braid straight to a flouro leader, and to be completely honest with you I will only do that for bass fishing fresh or salt.
      Anything else, saltwater wise, I almost always have a decent amount of mono.
      About 50 - 80+ yards of mono for flyline and casting.
