- Hey everyone, welcome back to another video! This was the second day of a trip to Catalina Island. I had some bait left over so I decided to focus on trying to catch halibut with rockfishing as my back up plan. Conditions were tough at the island but once I got back to the beach I got my limit of vermillion rockfish in no time.

But at least your out there with nature. Just going through the motions is good enough for me always in my life. Fun always
White sea bass usually hits around 4:30 to 6:30 in the morning Yellowstone usually runs around almost the same time but around 4:00 the latest from 4:00 to 5:30 it's great to have Calico Bass nice video
Awesome video bud
Thank you!
I just love watching your channel. I grew up fishing out there in the early '70's. I used to fish horn sharks at night while moored up in Avalon. Used cut bonita. Good company, good beers, so fun. I've caught tons of dolphin fish off the east end. Enjoy 😊
Thanks for watching! You can't go wrong fishing at night and pulling up those horn sharks, such cool animals. Hopefully the dorado show up in that area soon.
At first, I thought yep mighty proud of that Grabaldi. Then I put my glasses on. 😮
haha! would be a monster
You had an absolute unit of a sardine in your bait tank
Great content! I can't tell you how much knowledge I've gotten from watching your videos. Thank you.
If possible, could you go into detail on how you go about making bait? Size of sabiki, how you find the bait, and gear used are what I'm most curious about.
Right on thanks for watching! That is a good idea I will have to do a more thorough video on making bait next time I am out.
Appreciate this video for keeping it real! What pound test braid do you use on your electric "deep drop" reel?
Last week I was on the Pursuit and we got into bluefin tuna foamers at the back side. They looked like 40-80lb fish feeding on mackerel. We weren't able to hook any but it was the craziest thing I've ever seen at Catalina.
Thats awesome! At least you got to see that. Hopefully that is just the start of things to come this summer
Nice video dude. I know the solo trips can be like therapy, but if you ever need a splitter, lemme know.. we can exchange info. I'm in OC.
Great work brother. Love the content and the Fin Fetish sweater. I’ve went out in the past with Fin Fetish and absolutely slayed. Was just wondering if you do private charters on your boat at all? Keep up the great work bro
Thank you! Haha yea I have to rock their stuff they are good dudes who run a great operation. I dont do charter currently but have been looking into it.
Adam, you were out there grinding it out by ourself! Great job! I don't think you get any negative feedback about the size of those red's 😂
Haha thanks I definitely put the time in! Nice reds are always welcomed as a consolation prize
If you EVER need/want a fishing mate or deck boss, let me know. I am available anytime
niiiiiice🤙
yeww
the fish taco master
haha you know it!
Hey good reds ! If you don’t mind sharing, where is that location? And what set up did you use? I’m shopping for an electrical reel ….✌🏼✌🏼
Sleeping on the boat gives me the best sleep ever
@@thatonebeone it really does. Can’t beat it!
It’s really true. When I’m out offshore I don’t sleep much, but if I need to it’s always the best sleep
Come down south for some cows bro. 425 has been producing
@@Boogie1904 I definitely need to!
How do you make that chum buddy?
They sell them online or at west marine!
Chum buddy!!! How did you build it? Make a how to video please!
They sell them online or at west marine!
Nice rockfish catches. I've been considering a electric reel cause in 200 ft, it is exhausting 😂. What depth were you in?
@@pohukai3216 especially when you’re scouting new areas that can be unproductive haha. Anywhere from 250-500
Did you just use your own anchor there or is there a mooring bouy? I know that area, you're real close to where is smells like shit. lol there must be a sewage outlet by there somwhere. Everytime I pass by that area, it smells so bad!
Ya I just used my own anchor. Haha luckily no bad smells, it was as close as I could get to avalon and cell signal without being in the MLPA
Reds good for fish tacos? Do you always go by yourse
They are great for fish tacos in my opinion! No not always, this trip I just slept on my boat though so not everyone wants to do that haha
How deep were you fishing for the deeper spots?
For halibut at cat
Do you offer private charters?
@@Tdiep619 no I don’t currently but have been looking into it.
Catalina is overfished, seems more dead everyday
@@S3_103 naw, there was just no current and big ground swell this trip. The next two trips out we got yellows and all the bass we wanted
Hey good reds ! If you don’t mind sharing, where is that location? And what set up did you use? I’m shopping for an electrical reel ….✌🏼✌🏼
Ah I can't give out this specific spot its a long guarded one haha. I was fishing the Shimano Beastmaster 3000 on phenix axis rod
