      I haven't played racing simulations in 2D for a long time. 3D stereo depth perception with head movement makes racing games much more intense and fun. Yeah, GT7 is the system seller, sadly Sony did such a poor job in the marketing department of the great platform.

    Gt7 in VR+ steering wheel/racing chair setup has single handedly DESTROYED ruin racing games in general for me in the BEST WAY possible. I can no longer play "flat screen" racing games anymore. The VR experience I get from GT7 is something I had dreamed of for the longest time. Its the gift that keeps on giving, never get tired of it!! Best VR experience ever, and nothing can describe the attention to detail and the "life-like" realism you get through the VR helmet. A word if advise, turn off all the HUD aids for an even more immersive experience

      @@SuperJonaco you wont regret it! I have played the game for soo long that I have every corner memorized from every track, also I know when to change tires when its about to rain without the need for weather radar. Keep in mind that there are some cars that will relay information to you regarding fuel left, current lap and current position. Use these as a means to eliminate the need for HUD 👌👌👌

      @@highpriest90 Which cars? I only know Audi R5 that provides this kind of infos.. It's a shame they can't add a small hud on the side for the race infos like the one for the car's infos without having the bloody thing in the center

    • @highpriest90
      @highpriest90 Před měsícem +1

      @@massimopiantoni682 hey bud sorry for the late reply i hope this helps... You can actually assign how much information is displayed in front of you, or to your side. During a race, go to display settings and select only race info. This will allocate a small HUD to your dash instead of having all that info floating above you. This is your essential stuff such as fuel, mapping settings, weather and tire life. As far as cars that provide info already on its "real" dash, there are a handful that provide that. Cant remember all, but on top of my head the GR.1 jaguar (the purple one) shows you fuel and current lap. The other car is the 99 GR.2 Toyota GT-one that was recently added via update. The only thing that you will have to bring an HUD up for is weather. No way around that. But since im a gt7 veteran, i already know all the races with rain, and around what lap it starts to rain so i never need to pull my weather radar up. If you want to enjoy that immersion, start with the 2 cars i mentioned above until you start familiarizing yourself with track conditions. I hope this helps 👌

      @@highpriest90 Thank you for your reply. I already use the small hud with the car's info on the side (it doesn't bother me),. What I meant is that I'd like to have position, laps and time on the side as well. The cars you mentioned have only lap info, no position. It would be so easy to add a small hud, I really don't get why they can't do it

In normal track races you can feel the back end losing grip before you feel it at the wheel. I’ve also added speed fans that are great at cooling you when using VR and a NLR HF8 haptic seat pad for vibration car & over kerb feedback. GT7 puts out telemetry data.

    I bought GT7 and PSVR2 a few weeks ago. I already owned a PSVR1 so I wasn't new to VR. So I of course had some expectation of how it would feel like.
    Nothing can truly prepare you for this experience. The details and graphics. Wide view. The feeling of immersion. It's simply unparalleled. While you don't get the same field of view as in real life, you sort of do since you pretty much get the same view as if you were wearing a helmet. Which your character in game does. And with the headset and VR headset on, it does feel like you are wearing a helmet. It sells the immersion so well.
    For anyone that is on the fence about getting it. Do it. It's worth it. It's truly amazing. Start slow. Do short sessions and use slower cars in the start. In a few days/ a week your mind will be used to it. Atm I am easily doing 2-3 hours in one sitting without any issues. I also found having a fan blowing cool air on me helped a lot. As it does get warm. Extra immersion for driving convertibles.

And no patches for back compat with PSVR titles like Driveclub VR or Dirt Rally. Sony really dropped the ball with this headset. Typical of them though to bring out a cool product then just give up on it. 100% Agree with you on PSVR2 in GT7 though it's the only way to play that game.

      Everyone’s talking about the PS5 Pro like it’s the best level of gaming, for one, Sony haven’t even discussed the PS5 Pro existing, let alone what it is or isn’t capable of.
      Until Sony actually come out and say it’s here and here are the specs keep your mind active with other details you can control. It’s a waste of your energy.

It doesn't feel like an old school F1 race car. It drives surprisingly like a modern Formula car if you exercise a little throttle control. I cant go back to normal tv anymore. I've had this for almost a year and is going to cost me my marriage...LOL....My wife can't get me off it. I have heard some people complaining about the headset, saying it gets too hot to handle wearing a VR unit. I find this to be part of the experience as after i have a few intense races, I take it off and i have sweat running everywhere. If you were a real racing driver you wear a helmet and you get the same effect. I feel I have really been in a race and it's worth all the heat and sweat. I just wouldn't go back. My wife limits me to three races in a row. Not because I'm under the thumb, but because I have severe Epilepsy and the concentration and the sweating can bring on a seizure. I'm cool with that though, because I cannot drive a real car anymore since giving up my license 16 years ago. This game has taken me right back to a hobbie I loved. I only need to convince my wife now, for me to get a motion rig, pedals and wheel....Donations welcome....lol. Once I get my hands on this hardware, I have all I need to satify this itch. I own it and love racing GT7 - But there's some of ideas from playstation. It sometimes loses the connection and needs new position in the middle of racing, and then it want me to look around, which is crazy when only using locked position ( Race seat ) let me choose Locked position only in option, so I skip all the nonsens. I only use PS5-PSVR2 for racing GT7.
    But I must admit, I'm very disappointed that EA-WRC is PC exclusive, and AC Evo is probably ending the same way.
    It's apparently META Quest 3 that has the biggest success with VR Racing ( which is growing faster and faster )
    But Yes it's an amazing experience driving GT7 in VR.

    My biggest gripe with PSVR2 is the how "not sharp" it is. It's like looking at a 720p screen. Sadly, even though it's not OLED, my Meta Quest 3 produces are far superior picture (in terms of resolution & clarity) than the PSVR2, and with its pancake lens, it looks quite amazing. And wireless! If we can get the MQ3 to have full VR support on the PS5, I may never go back to my PSVR2 for GT7. The only thing I will give the PSVR2 over my MQ3 is the black levels, which for me to reach for my MQ3 over my PSVR2, tells me that it's almost there.... not quite... even if it was wired, being a higher res and pancake with the OLED would've been the best. But the PS5 just doesn't have the HP to drive 2x 4K screens like that without sacrificing a significant amount of detail... a RX6700 will still be a RX6700, no matter what how well you optimize it for performance (usually meaning sacrificing details for other details that are more "noticeable").

    Great review. After getting to A+ in GT Sport, and maintaining that rating through to GT7 its fair to say I've got and handle some decent lap times.
    But after getting PSVR2, I started beating my old lap times immediately. I believe this due to the 1:1 fov you get in VR.
    GT7 on a flat screen has no fov settings. It's fixed and nobody really knows what it is set at so to get it right you have to have to be at the perfect distance from your perfect sized screen in order to gain a proper sense of speed and in turn gain some valuable milliseconds.
    So i would argue GT7 in VR makes you faster as most players on a flat screen do not have the correct field of view and its holding them back.
    I also had trouble jumping from ACC back to GT7 because of this. But now with VR i dont have that problem. I have the correct fov in ACC on a flatscreen and jumping back into VR on GT7 is second nature, only with much more emersion and awesomeness.

I've dumped a ton of money getting the best VR experience possible. This of course spoils you and why I found PSVR2 a poor experience for me. The mura effect is over the top and distracting along with the glare in dark scenes (oled side effect combined with choice of lens). I would love for Sony to bring GT7 to PC and let it be VR compatible so we on the PC side can extract more out of it. Nothing comes close to GT7's game design and there should be VR to match it.

    Do you need to have lots of room to set up the VR? Or can you set it up while sitting in the cockpit?

    • @SuperJonaco
      @SuperJonaco  Před měsícem +1

      It's literally just one usb cable to the console, I just keep it on a table beside the rig, put it on and play, very simple, no more troublesome than turning on a controller. Setup is literally two button presses to set position once on.

    • @Atum1c

      Not much difference at all , in car is the same and outside the car is a little downgraded

    • @SuperJonaco
      @SuperJonaco  Před měsícem +2

      Of course it's not as crisp, but i'd say nothing that causes any sort of distraction or makes you feel like you're 'missing out' from the 4k flatscreen. The depth perception from the stereophonic image massively outweighs a resolution difference imo

    Too bad that the supposedly planned PC version of GT 7 was just a fakemessage, I also had the PSVR 2 for a short time but compared to the Quest 3 I found the picture not so great because of the Mura and small sweet spot and sent it back.

    • @kraenk12

      Q3 doesn’t have HDR nor OLED blanks though.

    • @Bamuxx
      @Bamuxx Před měsícem

      @@kraenk12 Yes, but it's useless for me if I have to look through the Mura veil, which ruins the whole impression of the picture. Not everyone sees Mura to the same extent, but according to some tests, around 30% perceive it as very annoying on the PSVR 2. Mura is unfortunately a common problem when OLED panels are used for VR, I've had a few OLED Headsets (Rift CV1, Quest 1, HTC Vive) but with the PSVR 2 the Mura is particularly bad.

    • @SuperJonaco
      @SuperJonaco  Před 19 dny +1

      Pretty impossible as you need to set up the "play area" which I think by default is upright. If laying down you can't turn to see behind you either... so no, not practical
