Thanks man. She does have a bit of lope. Wait for the next video, as it sounds a bit better once i get the timing a bit closer...
She sounds healthy Brad. You’ll be cruising up and down the streets before you know it 👍✌️

Thanks man. I've been driving her a bit. Footage coming soon!
Pretty cool nothing like that running after all that work is paid off
Thanks Michael!
Getting it done Brad well done hope you make it man !!
Thanks Fiano. Progress has been slow and work won't allow me to make Nats this year. Maybe next time? I'd love to see the All American in person someday. Hope you have a blast!
Would you spray the hinges on the driver's door. It squeaks every time and sounds like a bird chirping. Engine sounds great. I like the stance where you have it. Great job.
That door has been squeaking since the 80's, so it's part of the character of the car to me. I might fix it, but I doubt it. Thanks for watching!
Hey, Brad: I love your work and your programing. In regards to your issue of your plug wires being too long, if you are using a set of wires for to fit an original engine, they were meant to go down the back of the engine and come in under the exhaust manifolds. That would account for the extra length you are encountering. If that is the problem, then making up a custom set of wires, would certainly cure the problem. I used to have a rod shop in Kalispell, during the early 70's and 80's, then moved to Seattle area in '88. You remind me so much of myself during those early years of building cars. I been building cars since the late '50's and am still going strong. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Randy. I figured as much about the plug wires. Unfortunately that won't work with my headers. I still need to do something about them long wires. It's on the list... I appreciate you watching!
Awesome video i was excited to see it running. Might wanna crack that garage door a lil tho just in case
Yeah I can't afford to lose any more brain cells. Thanks!
Sounds good looks good can't wait for the test drive won't be long now looking forward to the 2 door ddspeedshop build
Thanks Dave. I guess you missed the memo about the DD car.... I guess I need to make the announcement in a video, not just on the live. Stay tuned to see what's up with that...
@@MontanaGarage I'm like a mushroom always in the dark thanks
The reason the spark plug wires are so long is because they are meant to be routed behind the block and down underneath the exhaust manifolds
Yeah I figured so. That just doesn't work in my application due to the headers. I still need to do something about that.... Thanks for watching.
That's got to be a good feeling I know I built my big block and dynoed it about 7 or 8 months ago I was going to put it in my car last week but had to change my vacation because I was asked by my boss so it will be a few more weeks but I can't wait. Good luck on power tour hopefully I'll be able to make it next year. Your friend from Louisiana Rick 427
Thanks Rick. I hope you go your big block installed and are enjoying the car by now! I appreciate you watching.
Hey Brad 🖐, sounds good 👍. Keep up the awesome work .
Your getting closer to a driver now!
Have a great week ahead 🖐
Hopefully I'll be driving this weekend. Fingers crossed for good luck between now and then... Thanks man!
question, is that T Shirt from Rapid Hot Rods in Box Elder?
Yes, well they are from Rapid City area, not sure exactly where. I haven't been there, but I've chatted with the guy on IG a bit. Sounds like a cool place. I'll check it out next time I'm in the area. I forgot if I did know, but are you from the Rapid area?
Looking good and sounding good ! Nice detail on everything do far. What is the plan for the body,,,,,,,,, , prime and go for now ?? I am looking forward to your first drive around the block ( so to speak). Thanks for the update.
Thanks man. She is staying bare metal for the time being. More driving footage coming soon!
You are really doing this car right. Do you still have the 57 from DD Speed Shop?
Thanks man. I sure do have the DDSS '57 still. I made an announcement about it's future in my recent LIVE video. Check it out, or stayed tuned and I'll announce it in an upcoming video as well.
It really makes a difference seeing it all come together knowing that you painstakingly detailed every step of the way ... this is really very impressive work. Great content!
Thanks Robert. I really appreciate that.
Sure love the sound of a heathy SBC uncapped, how awesome is that, way to go Brad.🫵🏼💯🆒🇺🇸
Thanks man. I do to!
Will run cooler in the summer with 50/50 mixture of coolant and water. Plain water is going to boil.
He's going to be making passes on 5 Dragstrips for Race Week. They have rules about puking coolant on the track.
Thank you Hippie Chip!
Thanks for the advice! I'll check out what rad cap I have. A far as I know it came with the radiator but if it's not a 20 I'll grab one. Thanks for watching!
Check your alt belt again, hard to see but maybe a little loose.
Thanks. It may have been. It's been off and on a few times at this point and she's good and tight now. I appreciate you watching and trying to help.
Throw some rust inhibitor in too if you’re just running water in the cooling system. Also, you could probably bump up to a 20 psi rad cap with a good quality aluminum rad, as they can handle the higher pressure, and give it a higher boiling point. Can’t wait to see it all together!
Thanks for the advice. The cap came with the rad, so I'll check it out. If it's not a 20, I'll grab one.
Beware, those flex fans are known to come apart. If you don't want to run electric fan, I suggest clutch fan. Unless I'm seeing it wrong.
It is a flex fan, and I have heard they can come apart. It is what I had on it before, and so far so good. Thanks for the heads up though, I appreciate it!
Check the timing
Yep, did that in the next video. Stay tuned!
👍👍
👊
Not 9 - 6 max your timing sounds slow still.
Yep, still hadn't touched it in this video. I just got it to idle so I could throw the light on and check it out. It is much better in the next video... Thanks for the advice!
Sorry brad meant fuel psi on the 6 pounds, watch that flex fan I learned the hard way cooled ok but lost a blade around 5 grand. Clutch fan all the way.
Dude, y’all need to set the timing on it. It sounds like it’s running late.
Yep, I did eventually. Thanks for watching.
Do your self a favor change Your fan to clutch fan unless u like over heating
I've heard they aren't the best. That is what I had on there before, so I threw it back on for now. I'll make a change if it seems like it needs it and isn't cooling that great. Thanks for watching!
Brad have you considered locking out your dist? The engine will be a lot more responsive and still have good street driving manners also better plug read for air fuel and timing. Also please get rid of the death fan and put an electric one on. No body wants to see one of those blades sticking out of your head! Your gettin it done I think you'll make it.
Thanks for the tips Jim! No fan blades in my head yet....I did replace the fan with a newer one, does that count?
👍👍🙏🙏🏆🏆
👊👊👊
