Not yet. The production began in mid 1990s. The principal shooting in october 1999. They released the movies between 2001 and 2003. Next year will be october 2019. So we nearly reached 20 years. I know... it's kinda crazy how fast time runs.... when people ask me what happed 10 years ago.... I don't think about 2008, more about 2001... and yes we all age and look different after 20 years. I will always remember Viggo in his prime as Aragorn.... he was damn sexy !!! 😍😍😍

And I think that Tauriel _was_ in the book, or at least is based on a character from the book. In the novel, there was a captain of the guards in Mirkwood that got drunk while enjoying some wine with Galion the butler, and that's how Bilbo got the keys to the dwarves' cell. But the captain in the books was a male Elf, not female.

Fascinating that there is a real life couple with an elve and hobbit who are Tauriel and Merry (Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan).
Viggo Mortensen isn't, in my opinion, a fox in his natural persona, but the parts I have seen him play are so intense and of high character that I fall for the characters. Also, according to his bio, he buys and keeps the horses he rides and works with in his movies (Hidalgo and LotR), so I gotta love him. I suspect he would be a very intense, interesting person in real life, too.
I think he's gorgeous, not just for his looks, yes he does look more gorgeous in L.O.T.Rs and Hidalgo but because he's a lovely guy, he even bought Brego his horse in the film and bought one of the stallions for one of the writers or whoever it was, such a kind gift . he's funny, can paint, does photography, sings god knows what else.😍😍💞✌😁
