An actor doesn't live off of blockbusters only. He's doing theater and independent movies that seem good to me.
Honestly, considering how Hollywood is doing right now that is not exactly a bad thing.
He will shortly be filming the second season of Carnival Row, which you mentioned,a very popular show. You could even say it is doing way better than any movie Hollywood has done in a while.
His career is far from over.
Personally, Elizabeth Town is one of my favorite movies. Anyone who hasn’t seen it should check it out.

@@caroldowning5964 they just said ratings weren’t great. Given that I didn’t see much promotion for the show and came across it by accident, that’s understandable. For a show to be successful, not only does it have to be good, it has to have great promotion so people will actually know about it. Kind of like that amazing show starring Clive Owen that came on at one point; The Knick. It had zero promotions (that I saw) but it was frigging EPIC! I was so disappointed when we didn’t get a season 3.

I’ve been in love with OB since LOTR TFOTR, since then I’ve been watching all his films from POTC, Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, Haven, Black Hawk Down, the calcium kid and (I don’t care what the critics say Elizabethtown was a wonderful movie) Elizabethtown. It’s too bad that criticism of Orlando’s bad acting in Pirates has followed him his whole career and led to him being typecasted, while his other really GOOD roles have been overshadowed. Orlando’s a theater kid and thrives well in complex roles. I recommend watching his performances in the Kingdom of Heaven, Haven, Zulu, and Romans, where he has more to work with and really shines in his roles.

That shot at Mark Hamill was greatly unnecessary and untrue. His voice over work has carried his acting in the second half of his career. His voice as Joker has stood for decades now in tv and video games. His comic con dates alone are enough to warrant never learning another script if you didn’t want to.
