What's going on, everybody Adam here with Etrailer. Today on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator, we're gonna be taking a look at the Titan Chain V-Bar snow tire chains. This is a ladder pattern style chain, so as you can see, we are gonna have a little bit of dead spots, but these are gonna be fairly aggressive. So, you really are gonna feel it when you're going down the road, but you're not gonna get stuck, 'cause these are pretty much the second most aggressive chains that we have. We have some LT studded truck chains that's a little bit more aggressive than these, but these are definitely gonna get the job done. These can be used on-road and off-road.
Made of a low-carbon steel construction, so they're not gonna rust away over time. Now, you have twist links with the little V-bar on top, and that's really gonna get you the really aggressive traction that you may or may not want. So, if you do want these, just make sure you don't exceed 30 miles an hour whenever you're going down the road. The chains come in a pair of two, so if you're just gonna put them on the back tires, just grab one, and it does come in a carrying case, but you can put them on the front. If you really think you're gonna get into some really slippery situations, you go ahead and put on the front and the back.
Just grab two of these. They fit in this canvas bag pretty nicely, but as you can see over time, they start to rip a little bit, so just be mindful that. These will probably last you a couple of different seasons, but you never know. So, it does fit in there, and that's always a plus. One thing that I like about these chains is they fit pretty well on our tires, and the installation process wasn't that bad.
So, if you stick around, we'll show you how we did it. First thing you wanna do is lay out the chains. We wanna make sure that there's no tangles or twists in our links. And then there's gonna be two things we wanna take into account. One, this little bracket here, this little chain.
We're gonna have a abrasive side and a more smooth side. We want the smooth side to go towards the tire just to prevent any unnecessary wear, and then we need to have this lever on the outside, because we will need to access that later. So, once you get all that sorted out, what you wanna do is grab in the middle of the chains, and what we can do is drape them over our tires, just like this. We wanna make sure they're nice and even, forward and back, and also side to side. And once you get all that kinda figured out, I will meet you around back to make our first connection. On one side, we're gonna have a series of links. And then on the other side, we're gonna have a hook with no home, so what we wanna do is find a home for it. I do suggest doing this in your garage first, because as you can see, we have a couple of links we can choose from. I'm gonna use, let's go with the second from the last, so if you do it in your garage first, you'll know exactly which links are gonna work best to get the best fit, so you don't have to figure it out when you're laying in the snow getting ready to roll. You can either install them like this, or if you really needed to prepare for the trip, you can roll onto them, so you don't have to get down right here. But as you all know, sometimes you just get stuck, and you need to put them on in the field, so this is the process you'll do. So, let's go ahead and continue with the process, and I'll meet you around the front for our second connection. Same deal on the front, kinda, but we got a little lever here, so find the little links on one side, and again, we will have the option to pick from either of them. I'm gonna try to get the second link from the end to work, but if it's a little too difficult, it's not really necessary to make it extremely tight on this step, but as tight as you can get it. So, I didn't really use a whole lot of effort, but it's definitely not gonna be able to go on the next link. So, go ahead and do that and then fold it back, and then there's a low link here, and that's the home for this bracket. We're not done yet. What you need is one of these, so this is a rubber tensioner. If you go on the related part section of the webpage, just scroll down and it should be there. You can go ahead and add these to your cart. They don't come with the kit, but they are pretty easy to install. All we wanna make sure is make sure that that hook is facing out just to prevent any unnecessary damage to the wheels, and we do wanna make sure it is nice and symmetrical, so we can evenly distribute all that pressure throughout the chain. Just like that. One more step, but thi
