After testing out the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with factory tires as well as 35s, both on and offroad. It was time to go ahead and jump to 37s!!
Most of you guys knew this was coming, and honestly i think it fits well!
The truck looks well balanced with the 37s, and i think they will do very well over time.
I chose to go with the Yokohama XAT all terrains because of the nature of this Jeep. It will see a little offroad action, but its main purpose is daily driving, family adventures, and camping. I think the X-ATs will do a great job all around, of course i will do an install video of them as soon as i get some good amount of miles underneath them!
The wheels are from Vision Wheel, they are the Manx 2. They are the 5x5 bolt pattern which will fit the JK, JL, as well as the JT. They look great, offer the correct backspacing (4.5), and are extremely affordable.
So far i am fairly impressed with how well the Jeep drives with the 37s. I feel a regear isnt completely needed, but i will do it soon anyways. 4.88s will bring the full pep back into the Jeep.
I talked briefly about the Tazer JL programmer. This will all be covered in a future video, showing the multiple possibilities offered by this tool. In the mean time, here is the link so you can read about it yourself! www.zautomotive.com/product/t...
For everyone still reading, i hope you have been enjoying the videos of the Gladiator, but dont worry, i still have more videos on the JK to do. Upcoming videos include the Long arm videos, rear tub body damage fix, as well as corner armor install. I will also try to do an offroad video with both the JK Wrangler, and Gladiator both in action side by side!! That would be pretty sweet.
Thanks for watching, and like always please give the video a thumbs up and leave a comment!! Thank you for your support!

FozWasHere cool vehicle. Will be nice for people planning to drive on the beach, occasional camping trips, while still sipping a latte on their way to work.
I don’t see a place for it in an actual Offroad environment, modifications will be hard and very expensive. Extremely low ground clearance that will most likely be impossible to fix.
Doesn’t fit in the Offroad realm, doesn’t fit in a true overlanding realm. It fits in the “I want to look like an overlander in a way, but don’t want to be judged when I pull up to my high end job meeting”.
      Short, I’m not a fan.
I’m sure it’s a great SUV, but it is not my cup of tea.

“Line up the yellow dot with the valve stem.” Finally, someone who knows how to properly position a tire when they mount a tire to the rim. It’s incredible how often tire shop installers do not, or refuse to follow that procedure. Also, how many also confirm both lateral and radial runout when they install tires? If the tire is out of round or wobbly, it does not matter how perfect the balance is, if the tire and wheel is not true, the ride will suffer. I have had balanced tires, and the ride and vibration was still bad. That was because they were still either out of round or wobbly. (It happened more than once.)

Only been running the Geolander MT G003s for a week, but I'm totally impressed with the ride quality, traction, and low sound levels. I'll be airing down and trying some rough desert stuff this weekend- anxious to see how they do. I know they're a relatively new tire model, but I've yet to see a bad review.

@@erichconnally5643 I am considering the g003 for the traction of a MT and the lower sound levels. I was running a KM² on my TJ Rubicon and at 25,000 miles, the noise level was becoming excessive. I sold them and bought 35" Falken AT3Ws. With a long arm suspension and aired down, they grip the rocks well, but slip on muddy dirt as to be expected. How do the noise levels treat you with the g003's? How do your g003's hook up on the trail?

Wanted to say thanks for all the info you've provided with your channel. I recently did a 2" Mopar lift with Fox shocks to my Gladiator and went with a BF Goodrich KM3 M/T. I absolutely love the tires. They look so good and are quite relatively speaking but after about a week I felt like I had some buyers remorse because I didn't realize they truly are for a vehicle meant to live off road. So I bit the bullet and got another set today and went with your Yokohama's X-A/T. I was worried I'd be in the same boat since they are so aggressive but they truly are a softer, smoother and quieter ride. Hoping to get a few MPGs back too. I put the KM3s on my original stock rims and now have a set to put on solely for the trails or camping trips. Expensive mistake but I know its for the best.

When mounting tires some tires don’t have the yellow or red dot to indicate high or low spots of the tire. You don’t necessarily need to line them for a perfect balance. I work at discount tire and have had tires balance out fine with and without the yellow dot. Again very educational video and some people wouldn’t know what the yellow dot means on a tire! You can determine optimum gear ratio by multiplying tire size by .12 or determine optimum tire size by dividing the gear ratio by .12, then round up or down depending on your application.
For example, a Rubicon has 4.10 gears. 4.10÷.12 would equal 34.1" tires. Since it runs 33s it provides more torque. This is appropriate given what it's built to do. Upgrading to 37s would be 37x.12 equals 4.44:1 gears. You'd want 4.56s to turn the weight of the tires considering mud pack. 35s would be 4.20 gears, but the stock 4.10s would be fine for 95% of people.
Non Rubicon Jeeps have 30.5" tires. This would equal a 3.66 gear ratio. They appropriately have a 3.73 gears set.

That's what I'm thinking about doing to my Gladiator,, 37 tires and 4.88 re-gear and a 3 1/2 inch lift in the future,,, my first goal is to get the DV8 hood for it and put my bumper on..

@@Whiteandsonsgarage Yeah, I didn't realize it either. Picked it up for 6 grand. 2007 had a few of the early releases with a 6 speed 2wd option. Works for me. Conversion is simply a new front axle (which everyone does anyway) a drive shaft and a 4WD transfer case. Still cheaper than getting a stock 4WD

Not sure why you wouldn't add TPMS sensors to the new wheels. I did with aftermarket wheels and tires on my 2019 5th Gen RAM 1500. The truck still reads the stock tires which I run in the winter and automatically syncs with the 35's I run all summer. Sensors were $30. Works great!

I know I'm a little late to the party on this one but I wouldn't truss the gladiator 44 just for 37s. Part of the engineering that went into JT to tow over 7k was supposedly making the axle housing thicker, I believe it goes from 7mm on the JL D44 to 10MM on the JT. So you should be fine without it until you start going up to 39s or 40s imo, gussets on the other hand wouldn't be a bad idea. That's something to think about for all you sport and sahara guys who want to do an axle swap and aren't really wanting to take on a 1 ton set up.
