The hardest thing to get used to when switching to a 48" CX for gaming was dealing with true blacks in gaming scenes. On a bright monitor blacks look grey or so bright that you can still see the parts of scenes that are supposed to be black. On an OLED black is truly black. It was hard to get used to at first, but then you realize this is how it is supposed to look and that is part of the challenge inherent in the game you're playing. Once you go OLED you'll never go back whether it's TV, Gaming, Streaming, Blu-ray, etc... I think the prices will remain flat for the C1. There's nothing else on the market that provides the same degree of flexibility and features (4 HDMI 2.1 ports, Free/G Sync, etc.) Until someone releases a TV to match it LG is not gonna be in a hurry to lower price. I wish you could get a 48" G1...

People complaining about nits, like, am I the only one who prefers playing games and watching media in a room with the blinds closed? I want to reduce as much ancient light as possible.
Caleb, can you share the color measurements pre-calibration? I know it can differ per panel, but I've seen other reviews (Rtings in particular) say their C1 had terrible out of the box color accuracy. Thanks!
Caleb you said C1 is not as bright as G1 .. all the measurements im seeing its almost exact same nits and only 2% more color. Were you assuming or in person you see the extra pop? Robert z from VE said C1 got a new panel but not evo seems like the new processor is pulling that extra brightness
@@damonblackburn2434, every TV reviewer. Has said the G1 is 20% brighter than any other lg oled. So I don't know why you say it's the same measurements. It's not a huge leap but it is brighter. He said in his video comparing G1 to A90J. The G1 had brighter nits than the Sony. Except in vivid mode on the A90J. The G1 so far tested is the brightest oled in a normal (average consumer) viewing mode . A90J does get really bright but only in vivid, it's lower than the G1 in other modes. Panasonic will probably be the brightest Oled this year though from a manufacturer (evo panel plus heatsink).
@@stealth2951 lots of ppl have said that but when you actually measure peak brightness on C1 and G1 they are measuring the same right around 750. I think it has more to do with the new processing increasing brightness than the Evo panel I've seen multiple measurements from different reviewers all point to about 750 avg
I actually originally bought a 50 inch M7 Vizio as a secondary TV for the bedroom, but I'm use to my Sony OLED that I couldn't go back to a regular LED TV. Loving this C1.
Coming into TVS and the marketing if you dont know any better nits would seem the way to go. All great tvs start with contrast which is why most will say OLED over QLED/LCD thus having having peak brightness isn't going to be end all be all if the contrast ratio isn't there which is why OLED can get away with infinite contrast + lower nits compared to QLED higher nits and meh contrast sure QLED is brighter but it looks meh from the blooming and not enough dimming zones to control it
Your probably too young to remember this but there used to be a saying that "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down!" It referred to a child's egg-shaped toy. You reminded me of them when you talked about the remote not wobbling.
I picked one up a 65” for $1524 no tax from the military exchange. I doubt it will ever go lower. Upgrading from a 55” 9100 OLED circa 2015 that I paid 2K for back then.
It would be nice if any reviewer mentioned that out of the box color accuracy of C1 is terrible. Rtings gave it 4.6 out of 10. Not many of us have $2500 SpectraCal Calman Studio laying around to calibrate it ourselves .

I have 2016, 2018 and 2019 LG Oled TV, basically you get constant flashing black screen when playing video games with PS5 after the last firmware update. Their App Store server is down 90% of the time and can’t ever download the user agreement which is required to run any apps. Their server to update or download apps is down 90% of the time.
Had mine a month now. It's awesome except for one thing: when changing volume, there are no numbers, just up and down icons. It's impossible to tell what the volume is until you hear it. Depending upon the previous source, it can be way too loud or too quiet. Very annoying.
Massive fan, and this is always my channel for every new TV I buy. I have a C1 coming for my PS5, and will pass everything through my my digital receiver to the TV. Could you offer a detailed settings guide for optimising the TV for gaming and movies? Thanks for all you do!
Picked up the 48A9S master series from Sony and thought that it would just be a huge picture quality champion vs the C1. I could never get the picture to look anything but dull, since the A9S ABL was so aggressive that I could never get it bright enough in any condition. I swapped it out for the 48C1 and I haven’t looked back. The gaming features, especially with the Dolby vision update on the Series X, it’s almost untouchable among its peers. Thanks for all you do Caleb.

@@rudypj30 I got it shipped but from what I've read it's a better idea to leave it standing up to protect the screen. The panel on this TV is very thin so if you lay it down be very delicate
Hi, Can you tell me how you pause/ play /rewind and fast forward media content on netflix for example. The remote doesn't seem to have these dedicated buttons
The TV itself looks great and by year’s end I will upgrade to a 2021 model of some kind, I was looking at this tv and I don’t like to watch tv in the dark and the glare on this tv was killer. I could not believe how much glare it had while watching content. I’m hoping the G1 is better as that one is high on the list.
I bought a 75"er (obviously older tv, It's two years old now), but the box said 4K, 240Hz refresh rate and that it had smooth stuff and whatnot. The guy selling it to me said he thinks it's the best one, touting all the things it said on the box. So turns out it doesn't have 240Hz on ... anything. 120 is the tops, and 60 for 4k. While it looks good, it's not a good TV for gaming as the side to sides are blurry even with 120 FPS games running. I was highly disappointed, but at the time I was recovering from a shattered leg, so I let the return time pass, so I'm stuck with it. So LG is off my list now when I'm looking for a new TV. Good video though! :-)
I would say that getting the color quality, viewing angles, image clarity and deep contrast of an OLED screen are worth setting aside your petty personal issue that stems from making poor decisions in the past.

We just got the A80j after comparing it to the C1, and only play on PS5. We aren’t going to be let down right? Everyone keeps saying “C1 for gamers”, but I mostly see that for XBOX. I hope this extra spent won’t make me regret the Sony A80j vs the LG C1.

Really felt like it was time to upgrade to something that would best pair with my PS5 and Series X.
Thanks!
Yes, I was wondering the same thing.
I just got a C1 48 inch for $850 from best buy it comes in a few day!!!! Super excited 😄
Caleb - Let’s see a head to head G1 to C1. Can you see the difference?
Caleb you said C1 is not as bright as G1 .. all the measurements im seeing its almost exact same nits and only 2% more color. Were you assuming or in person you see the extra pop?
Robert z from VE said C1 got a new panel but not evo seems like the new processor is pulling that extra brightness
He said in a previous video he no longer has the G1 with him 😔
@@damonblackburn2434, every TV reviewer.
Also the C1 is measuring brighter in SD
I actually originally bought a 50 inch M7 Vizio as a secondary TV for the bedroom, but I'm use to my Sony OLED that I couldn't go back to a regular LED TV. Loving this C1.
I used to be a nit nerd... then I got the LG CX.
LG OLED - The Cure for Nit Obsession Disorder.
Coming into TVS and the marketing if you dont know any better nits would seem the way to go. All great tvs start with contrast which is why most will say OLED over QLED/LCD thus having having peak brightness isn't going to be end all be all if the contrast ratio isn't there which is why OLED can get away with infinite contrast + lower nits compared to QLED higher nits and meh contrast sure QLED is brighter but it looks meh from the blooming and not enough dimming zones to control it
I got this tv in 55 inch and the only I can say is awesome and perfect 🤩
Is the picture quality the same as 48 inch?
I bought the TV yesterday and will be here next week. I can't wait.
my LD B8 is 3 years old and I love it.. looking at a small C1 for my bedroom and this review confirms its the right choice.
^^ LG lol
“The more love you show the faster we’ll grow” nice
🙏Thank you Mr. Denison. Brought the 55inch variant for 2000$ in Bangalore,India. Yet to installed by engineer. I will first watch that Netflix video you suggested
Its on sale all over bangalore and I might get one soon? Any signs of burn in so far? Burn in topics on the internet are really divided and is stopping me from pulling the trigger.
@@sakthisudanss2341 no complaints, go for it
Pickup my 65" c1 soon can't wait!
It’s amazing to me that most people are okay with “Soap Opera Effect”! It drives me completely nuts! Makes me not even want to watch something when people’s TVs look like that.
I always disable it on people’s TVs when they step out of the room
It literally makes me dizzy and nauseous after a while.
I love it
I'm hoping to get a 65' on Black Friday, I hope it goes down under $1500, that would be perfect
Just picked up a 48C1 for $779 ($899 Sale + $120 in Rewards). Can't wait to set it up!
Caleb your grey shirt (especially around the collar) is highlighting a problem with my current TV. Your shirt has this weird zebra moving pattern thing happening. My TV is 7 years old so yeah.
its called moire effect
I have the same on B9
My AMOLED phone display is only a year old and I see it too 😅
@@mythoti I have the s21 ultra and I see it too i was thinking it was my phone I was like damn really lol 😆😅.
Not your tv, it was the camera captured that caused this. Quick way to avoid this is reducing sharpness in camera as that’s what 99.9% caused this.
It's May 2022 and this TV is still a rockstar.
I just ordered a 77" LG C1.
I've never spent this much money on a TV. I'm anxious.
But I always try to remember that there was a time in ancient history where it didn't just take a few months worth of effort to earn their purchase back.
Imagine how much a helmet was worth to a Spartan.
Sometimes you gotta splurge if you're passionate about something.
Just got my C1 was debating between CX but happy with my purchase regardless. Upgrading from X900E
Hi, Can you tell me how you pause/ play /rewind and fast forward media content on netflix for example. The remote doesn't seem to have these dedicated buttons
Thank you me and my wife just ordered this TV.
Qn90A vs C1 pls, thats what all are waiting to make a choice!
Thanks again for the amazing review - I watch every single one of your videos. I would love to know more about the differences between the G1 and the C1 - basically I want to know if the extra money is worth it for the G1! :-) Thanks again...
Maybe you can do a video about the best 4K Blu-rays that look the greatest on OLED's (or in general)? I know most people have gone all digital however
Revenant, Ready Player One and Tenet have all been suggested elsewhere 👌🏾
Blade Runner 2049 should be at the top of your demonstration discs.
I feel like anything with scenes that demand dark level detail, since that seems to be 4K Blu-rays’ major strength along with sound.
Gotta test that Speed Racer bluray
Love to see a battle between the C1/G1/A90J, but mainly a battle between the C1 and G1
I'd like to see a battle between all of them but the c1 and the A90J first, then the c1 against the g1.
Bought my 55 inch august 26th and returned it today for the 65 inch. The 65 inch when on sale for 700 bucks off a week ago. Great deal from 2500 to 1800.
Is the picture quality the same ?
@@faouziiscool1245 only different is c1 get just a Lil bit brighter and all 4 inputs are 2.1

Nit Nerd is a perfect term. Save the money and buy the C10. The C10 price will drop soon.
Got my C1 for $2,099.00 yesterday at BB.
Would love to see a comparison between the C1 and QN90A. Or OLED vs Neo QLED
IMO oled will win every time unless your tv is going on a literal sunroom. In fact, I feel like the qn90a is TOO bright sometimes.
Guys is the a dramatic difference between the LG c1 and the Sony z9 j 75 inch when it come to realistic picture quality?regardless of the price ?
@@arronworrell1354 Yes massive difference! C1 is amazing
When exactly does the TV start playing free content and advertise for Pluto? You said it happens, but when? Staying idle in the menu too long? Right when you turn on the TV?
LG G1 OLED Signiture Series is nice TV if want budget friendly mid range gaming TV but A90J like A9G Master Series is for hardcore AV enthusiasts and the G1 much the same .
Pit it against the qn90a please that’s the big one everybody is waiting for, lg c1 vs qn90a.
hi! maybe a comparison between the qn90a and the c1?
I just bought the 65" LG GX 3 months ago. It's perfect for my bedroom at night. That said, would love to have the 75" QN90A for my sun-blasted great room for day time viewing.
I get numbers when I change volume…something is wrong with your tv
Great stuff Caleb, as always 👍🏼
P. S. No I don't like soap opera effect either 🙄
Thank you for the comment and the validation, lol. Appreciate it.
Massive fan, and this is always my channel for every new TV I buy. I have a C1 coming for my PS5, and will pass everything through my my digital receiver to the TV. Could you offer a detailed settings guide for optimising the TV for gaming and movies? Thanks for all you do!
Glad I got the C1. I'm a very happy customer.
Afternoon, I'm getting my C1 55" tomorrow and so very excited.
Is there an OLED for dummies guide or first things you should do with your LG ?
I'm slightly paranoid that my wife will complain about its darker picture in our bright room.
Cheers.
EDIT: just found your first things you should do video.
I love this channel.
I just ordered a CX. Stoked.
CX still a monster just look around on reddit, twitter on how many people are getting CX its alot still even with the C1/G1 out. CX is cheaper and honestly more matured with software updates but thats just me
I just got my 77" CX yesterday, didn't think it was worth getting the C1.

Upgrading from LG C9.
Love your channel man. So what do you do with all the TVs after?
Just picked this up for $799 at best buy, first oled can't wait
Hey I just wanted to ask how did you transport it home, can you lay the tv down or does it need to be standing up?
@@rudypj30 I got it shipped but from what I've read it's a better idea to leave it standing up to protect the screen. The panel on this TV is very thin so if you lay it down be very delicate
At Costco the 55" is $1299. Pretty good deal considering the supply chain issues this year

@@stringsofair8039 wow, trigger much? Petty personal issue? I was LIED TO by the store guy who was misinformed by THE WORDS ON THE BOX ... So... what part of that is petty? Choose your words better, and maybe learn that people have different opinions based on their experiences. Good luck to you.
PS5 + A90J = PARADISE 🔥🔥🔥
We just got the A80j after comparing it to the C1, and only play on PS5. We aren’t going to be let down right? Everyone keeps saying “C1 for gamers”, but I mostly see that for XBOX. Ps5 doesn’t support the “vrr” thing and input lag on both seem almost negligible anyway. Plus Sony looks to have the best quality in motion, color, and picture. I hope this extra spent won’t make me regret the Sony A80j vs the LG C1.
I just got this TV last week. I'm still frustrated I was only able to purchase the 55 inch version due to my limited budget. It's a shame, but it is what is. 😢 Love the TV regardless though.
I have a 55 inch CX, planning ro get another oled for living room when C1 came out and qled q90a i end up buying 77inch CX because nothing much a different between CX & C1.
Just got my c1 48" in today.. my back is the brushed silver look, not white 👌
Just ordered the 48 inch for my PC.
Do you know that the picture is dimmer when gsync is enabeld?
I would love to see this up against the Sony A90J, reason being is I would really love to get the 83" version of either and curious if the extra cost of the Sony is worth it or if the diminishing returns hit hard here.
For gaming the C1 destroys the Sony
@@W1Z_38 oh agree, I am more of a 75% movies 25% gaming so image quality etc. is important and after calibration both sets I am sure are super close. I prefer the google interface on the Sony, but agree 100% the LG is made for gaming. since the 83" is new and costly, I might wait till this next year to see the changes and the cost coming down etc. But appreciate your comment.
