- The Tabernacle Choir and members of the Orchestra at Temple Square perform Mack Wilberg's arrangement of "My Shepherd Will Supply My Need."
Episode 4438. Aired October 5, 2014 - Hudba
No longer a stranger nor a guest but like a child at home! Of all those hymns that I love, this phrase from this hymn is one the most satisfying, inspiring and calming! It reminds of a phrase from Psalm 23 which has become for me almost a "mantra": "He restoreth my soul". Thank you choir, orchestra and Director!
This is one of my all time favorite songs and by far my favorite arrangement. I got this CD for Christmas and was going through a terrible time with one of my children and I would put this song on repeat as I would clean the kitchen after everyone left for school and the healing would just go through my body.
Just as the Holy Ghost can prompt us to read certain scriptures, He leads some of us to certain songs.
No longer a stranger nor a guest but like a child at home...
. . . .like a child at home. Reminds me of the Sweetest Woman to have ever walked this earth. My Mother!
Mine also 🙏 🤗🤍🌺
One of my favourite hymn.. The choir sang this beautiful hymn during my grandmother's funeral ❤ everyone were in tears 😭 thank you for this beautiful hymn ❤❤
Lattely its been hard for me to stay spiritually tunned, however this songs always remembers me that the Lord will be there and its there for me, everytime I miss my path he will make, "He brings my wand’ring spirit back when I forsake His ways" this makes me reallised how much love the heavenlty father has for me.
Why do tears of healing and peace come to my eyes when I hear this . . .
Because something is telling you where happiness can be found...
This may not be the most popular, but this is perhaps my favorite song of all the ones the Tabernacle Choir performs. The words help sustained me in some of the hardest times of my life. Before, I merely enjoyed the song, but I started to pay attention to the words, and I found that they filled the voids in my soul. They reminded me of my relationship with my Savior; they brought me remember his goodness and mercy. I saw the blessings that were in my life again,. I love the lyrics in the last verse:
3. The sure provisions of my God
Attend me all my days;
O may Thy house be mine abode,
And all my work be praise!
There would I find a settled rest
(While others go and come),
No more a stranger or a guest,
But like a child at home.
How much do I love those lyrics! I look forward to that day when we may rest with the Lord. Surely, He loves his children. You can feel it in this one.
Thank you for your message. I too have experience something similar
Kenton Young I once gave a sacrament meeting talk based on this song. Sublime and spiritual it brings peace to my soul just like being a child at home. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings.

Again and again I tell God I need help, and God says, ‘Well, isn’t that fabulous? Because I need help too. So you go get that old woman over there some water, and I’ll figure out what we’re going to do about your stuff
A lot of times we find answers to our problems when we are serving others. We fill their needs and we fill our own at the same time. The things that we counsel others to do are the same things we need to do so we both benefit.
