great project and walnut is fast becoming my favorite wood....love the grain .....
Good, clear instruction video. (And good job on the wine bottle box.) Thanks!
Getting ready to make one and this popped up in my feed. Watched it a long time ago. Still a great video.
I like this project. As a Wine bar manager I especially like it.
Looks good and nice build.
Great video man, nice looking box!
Like the idea of 'excelsior' to cushion the bottle. As it turns out, the two best things out of my shop are wood shavings and sawdust...and I have a lovely scrap pile as well.
I made this exact project except I used mitered corners with splines. I didn’t realize until I was making the lid that I made it harder on myself because I had to make two tiny pieces to cover the open miters where the lid slides. Turned out awesome, but if I make this again, I’ll definitely use rabbets
Nice and simple box, I like it. My son has asked me to make a presentation box for his Christmas gift to his mum so I will follow the basic principles you lay out here as it's within the realms of my skill level. As an aside, I am truly jealous of all the American/Canadian woodworkers. They always seem to have a spare piece of gorgeous hardwood to turn into shavings or some other menial use. Here in the UK that piece of walnut would cost a fortune.
Walnut here is really expensive, too. Nearly 20 times the cost of pine. Personally I would use some leftover soft wood for shavings.
Good video, bud. I liked the faster paced editing style, while still keeping in brief explanations as the project progressed. Subscribing for more.
Nice! Glad I found this. I don't have the tools yet to make this but I can borrow some from friends. :) I am wanting to make custom boxes as needed for my new line of sculptures that will be in my Etsy store. :) Not only for better safety during shipping but also for a step up from cardboard and paper boxes. I am considering burning my logo and website address in the lid. - Heidi
Don't think I didn't see that gap at 4:08! LOL You have some really nice tools. Love that Festool sliding miter saw. I need that. NEED.
Cary, thanks for commenting!
Nice SHOP!
Thank you Gary!
Great video. How do you print the logo on the wood with an inkjet?
It will be in a future video! Pry release it on Tuesday!
Andy you give the length of the sides top and ends - I dont recall you indicating the width of the boards. Would you be able to let me know the width. Thanks Burt
