Xlock was addressing a need. There is a reason why people would buy multiple grinders just to avoid swapping disks manually. Yeah it only take a minute, but it's not convenient when a person has to change attachments multiple times for a task. Having xlock is definitely convenient so I tend to preferably use that. My non Xlock grinders tend to keep the disks they have until they are needed to be swapped out due to wear

Well said, when you buy a grinder you need to look at your use case to determine whether x-lock will be worth the extra convenience.

X lock is great in my opinion for pro use but yes a downside is i cant get 100 packs of 6" wheels for like $120. Im guessing theres nothing for 9" grinders either yet since i dont think 1 exist with x lock. Other downside is its jus not a grinder that is as good as others when it comes to performance. I had it and sold it. I would love x lock for all my flexvolt grinders. Would love for x lock to become standardized like sds

Same thing with starlock on multitools. If they put flats on the side you could double wrench it like an old school plunge router.

Imagine designing this thing and not putting wrench flats on it.

Instead of making the adapter, make the disks affordable and actually make them available. I love my x-lock grinder but I bought another grinder for wheels that wear out fast

how do you loosen the different discs from the adapter when there on really tight. since there is no lock from spinning on the new xlock grinders.

X-Lock is to solve a need to be more efficient and it does exactly that. There is also, rightly so, a push to make this the standard in the Industry, which makes perfect sense and eventually it will. Reason it take off so much yet, because it wasn't so widely available before, but over the years, it has become now. It is a no brainer. The old Grinders disc changing system is outdated and time consuming when have to be as efficient as possible.

Xlock is about efficiency and safety. For users who are grinding every day and need to switch between disc types quickly and without having to touch a hot disc.
It also eliminates the need to have a wrench and nut to secure a disc. Both of which often get lost.
As for the cost of accessories. The Xlock accessories don't seem to be priced at a premium. Home Depot has the Xlock 4-1/2 cut off disc's in a five pack from Diablo at a lower price than the comparable non Xlock disc's from Diablo.
Also thar adapter seems sketchy and it places that flap disc almost outside of the confines of the guard. Essentially negating the safety that the guard provides to the user.
