  • A British Columbia family received a harsh reminder this week that bears are out and about in many communities across the province.
    On Tuesday, a hungry bear in Port Moody, B.C. tore through one home’s closed wooden garage door to get to the trash can stored inside.
    As Angela Jung reports, the incident is serving as a reminder for people living in bear country to take precautions.

    She feels violated? Maybe she should go live in a high rise instead of backing her house onto bear territory! What a princess!

    Violated? By a bear?🤣. Seriously, it’s a bear doing what bears do when they smell food or garbage. Can’t arrest a bear for doing what it does best.

    If you have a big deep freeze, put your compostable/stinky garbage in bags and freeze them until garbage day. No smell of rotting food coming from your garage. Welcome to bear country!

    Building a fence around the area would help out. Slippery as only metal straight pipes like fence for 🐻paws to slide on pipes 8 feet tall will prevent them from climbing on and over.

      @@Another-Address When people come together in the area they can shave of some cost with labour if that's an issue. Definitely safer to close it of since maybe one family is like grizzly Adams family maybe not. Old drilling rig pipes could be used as 1/2s from one to stretch more and have it so the bears can't bend it and half pipes would also have about the same worth of strong structure to keep bears out and wolf's and other small creatures would can pass freely.

      @marcinhibner9507 Před 14 dny +1

      Ohh and maybe large rocks down blow in dirt so if the decide to dig under with piping fence deep below in 3feet should be sufficient as large lorks would slide down and they wouldn't have a chance to pull them out and cement some in as well stretch cement as well Avery foot or so And half pipes like 4 inch wide to 8 and lengths are like 9m average long give or take few inch so you get alot out of one split I to and hav them welded like half leghts on houses side and straight ups outside so you have outside fins like to see some light if needed or let some small creatures in and most i would half pipe cit lenghtwise 8 feet sticking out of ground and one side open inside and welded to back and the other cut outside curved so it's like an ~~~~~ and thta would be tough and have stretched width on fence all the way like and back end also half cuts even 3rds so to stretch and bears paws wouldn't have chance with naild though ion to back frame horizontal frame welding and only would slide and nothing to grab on back paws. Thta the only way or have electric but people could get electrocuted and smaller animals as well. Ohh you could even make a structure on houses as like a hanging garden lettuces and any hanging gardens as well so its frame fitted as well and worked into veggies or other plants that people can grow seasonally or solar panels or smaller size windfarm to get electricity for that area as well anything like use the back area as well, why not and have Ohh and have some trees cut from fence just in case it falls on the fence and bears can get over plus chance of damage to the fence would be eliminated as well. Ohh and scrap pipe ends take them to recyclers and get some %back as well. I bet they have drilling rig auctions in Alberta and get a scrap Metal deal equvelent prices as well.

      buddy in Coquitlam up onto the plateau above C. Centre has a photo of a fat bear clearing just such a fence. Of course, his German shepherd gave the bear a little more incentive, but still...........bear country.

    • @marcinhibner9507
      @marcinhibner9507 Před 13 dny

      @@user-zf3xb3qx8w not a chance bear would be able to climb or since pwas nials would slid on metal and paws wouldnt get stuck sonc eits all straight up and wildlife from outside would only have fins sticking out and inside from safe side is the welded frame or horizontals and outside for bear they would only have straight up edge they would slide and up to let say 10 feet like the USA MEXICO FENCE but cost on cutting all less but like just more bear proofing since he has paws and longer hookes claws and they would be able to cling on and top would be a wider half pipe so it slide if for any jump ups. Humans could maybe caus ropes and placing treesand other handy stuuf and but bears naaah i know they can climb and go accross shot strings cables i saw that hanging horizontal lines on YT but up the won't have any thing to cling on to since it not wood and paws would be able to have that grip sine it's open pipe half closed like a wavey wall straight pipes only up from outside bear side and no welded frame for them so its all just that finns like wavy effect hulf cuts. 🐻 Would need magnets on paws to climb that. I saw some on the net but they are either electric easily damaged by antlers and or trees but that's ok depends on if close to trees or open areas which better and I saw soem metal ones like but to short ornamentals and their paws have more smaller metal pipes or like sticks that they could have their body on into hold and climb with paws on locking like squized type formed climb. Anyways I'm not buildung it maybe some ideas will be placed from if it's worthy. Gist explaining as well. But once in playing with idea it will come to the effect I see would get them and instead of 8, 10 foot fence would be sufficient. 🐻🅾️
