More than 40 years living in Houston. Every year I receive tornado warnings. Never paid much attention to them bc they never hit us.
I live Cypress and this time I thought I was about to get killed. The lights went out and all of a sudden I heard a distant freight train getting closer quick. Barely had enough time to get my dog and barricade ourselves in a small closet underneath the stairs.
It felt as if though the house was about to get blown apart.
We were lucky. God is good. Part of my roof and my entire back yard fence and a tree is completely destroyed. A tree in my front yard had huge branches ripped out damaging a few of my vehicles . Those are trivial things. Material things can be replaced. Your life cannot. The city says we won't have power restored for at least 48 hrs. It blows (pardon the pun) but I can live with that. Stay safe everyone.
So glad u are here to write this & share your story. Squeeze your doggie tight. Glad you guys are OK friend.

Well you reacted fast and was really smart thinking on your feet
Poor Bob had to cancel his wine & dinner 😂
At the Petroleum Club too. Big loss. 😂
I know right.
IKR. How will poor Bob possibly cope? 😱 Ohhh...the humanity!
That is so sad, how does one deal w such a loss .. remember Bob's story everyone!
Maybe it’s cause I don’t watch news anymore but the reporting seems so dumbed down like people really need every single detail pointed out to them cause they can’t understand basic reality…oh wait
10:38 There are still no lights, but im happy to hear that many are safe. I'm praying for those still in the path of this horrifying storm....
Why
@@jmcd21182You aren't edgy stop trying
@@jmcd21182 because the high winds blew down transmission towers that carry electrical lines
Doesn't look like a good sign for this hurricane season 😬
it missed the mobile home park where i live
I'm glad you're safe it can be scary being in a mobile home with those strong storms
@@AlienGirl24 yeah it could have been worse for me
Bob was not happy about shutting down his nice wine dinner 😂😂
Lights went out after 6:30, and it's still pitch black in our neighborhood. 😢
"What a wonderful day!"
@SmartyHome-hu5pt you take care and be safe also
I think this is worse than Hurricane IKE back in 2008. When it comes to windy weather, storm damage, and power outages.
Seems like Every year since early 2000’s always a bad storm in May right before hurricane season.
Big fact been saying that for years now
@4:08: "It looks like windows got blown out. Is that really what we are seeing?" SMH and rolling my eyes... No, the office occupants just wanted some of the cool breezes and accidentally broke the windows trying to open them.
I don't know what happened boss. It just sucked that defective printer you won't replace right out the window.
I was hit by the tornado, and I am in the center of the power outage, sadly.
Damn where was the tornado at?
NWS is currently investigating if this was a tornado. It's not yet confirmed to be. As of now the word is derecho storm.
thank God you’re not injured
Thanks God He protected you.
@@StormChaserMaci. thank you
Skies did transform mid day blue
A storm turned skies a grey hue
Eighty mile an hour winds blew
Shattering glass in Houston flew
Storm passed an left quite a view
then the looters came, dressed in red or blue
I live in the Houston area and this reminds me of Hurricane Alicia in 1983 when all the green glass from the Allied Bank Building (same as one in the video) blew out and landed in the streets below. This is why the newscasters said this destructive thunderstorm was like a Category I Hurricane. So true! Because by the time a Hurricane comes ashore in the Houston area, the winds die down to Category I strength, but there is still destruction - just not as bad as when it first hits the coast.
Stay safe Houston praying for a quick recovery!!!
God please have mercy protect them all
Lol god has no parts in this, if anything he or her have better things to do
Nigga 4 people died. Was god sleeping on the job?!?
pray for yourself we all need to repent
@@digitalxtremehgand you are out of line . god created every single thing on this earth. even these storms. he does have his hand in this. he allows it read your bible real good next time
God, please go back in time and don’t allow these storms to happen
the wind pressure between those building increases. just like under the the overpasses during tornados . !!!! it had to be super strong
it knocked down hella trees on Antoine dr, one fell on a obs silverado on top of the roof idk if they made it, if they did go ahead and buy a lotto ticket.
Wish I could help clean up. I love my community and love Houston. Let the people here know how we can all assist in restoration.
Thank you for reports
Wow, this is absolutely wild. Stay safe there everyone.
Praying for everyone thur this, l have friends that live in Texas.🙏🙏🙏
Sorry to see this happen to such a beautiful city. That was a heck of a storm. I did not know those big buildings would sway and twist in the wind. Thats probably why so many windows broke as glass doesn't bend well. Please be careful as it is going to take a lot of work to repair all the damage. Good luck to all of you.
Bob is like “eh been through worse” kinda attitude. 😂
God Bless everyone though. I love Houston!
My first bicycle trip city got hit with intense storms 😱
I work downtown, near the Hyatt building. It was surreal driving on those roads, hearing the constant crunch of glass. And some of the traffic lights were out, so had to be careful driving through the intersections. Traffic light out at 288 and McGowen and Gray.
Oh no, they shut down the nice wine dinner… Still button up and ready for the cameras Lights camera Action🤡
they need to stop building tall buildings ..my thought
The owners of these buildings and bridges need to stop hiring ilegal aliens as cheap labor! These people don’t have experience in construction. They pretend they know but they are lying to get the job and to survive in this country. We will see a lot of accidents, If they keep hiring people with no experience in construction!
Es ahora el tiempo de buscar al Señor,El ya está muy enojado de tanto pecado, necesitamos humillarnos y apartarnos del mal, para encontrar misericordia (Gracia )para el oportuno socorro!
Necesitamos Trump!!!!!🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Why does he punish both good and bad people?
Que comentario mas burro! Trump es la definición del pecado.
Cypress neightbor. Same scenario. Any help. Let us know. God bless
Anyone there get a weather alert or anything on their phones? Sirens? Seems like this was all very unexpected. Praying for everyone in Houston!
Internet was out fir hours!😢
@@pamelaarmas2217*for please proofread
Wow!!!!
The height my area got hit hard...Still no power
My job sent an email saying the office is OPEN but no IT support after me in IT said I can’t come in today.
GUYS HOPE ALL IS WELL. MY QUESTION IS WHY? ARE WINDOWS SHATTERED IN OFFICE BUILDINGS. THEY SHOULD HAVE STORM WINDOWS PUT IN ESPECIALLY ON THE GULF OF MEXICO HURRICANE AREA. ***SPREAD THE WORD IF YOU LIVE IN HOUSTON ***
I am fully convinced a tornado (NWS currently investigating) had been on the ground very close to downtown based on damage and on Doppler radar I had seen as storm occurred. Major power supply lines were taken out and those take an insane amount of force to move let alone bring down multiple.
(Trained NWS storm chaser/spotter.)
I saw that, it had to be a tornado those things are pure metal it wont come down with just wind alone.
@@MrDisgruntledGamer1 Those transmission lines are bolted into concrete and they were found bent. That's why I'm thinking possible tornado.
It's worse where I'm at. ..definitely seems and felt like a tornado. It was calm when I pulled up at my place from grabbing food but as soon as I shut the door after entering my place the wind and rain came in. by the time I finished eating it calmed enough for me to go outside and it was a mess.. downed Trees.. power lines hanging in the middle of the road and severe roof damage to several homes in my area
@@dmatrix3485 That is why NWS is investigating this. They suspect it could have been weaker tornado.
Bless us all.
The failure of Weather emergency alarm. or Amber alert for Houston area
An Amber Alert is for missing children, not weather.
I got two national westhwr alerts on my phone to take shelter immediately
@@sarahfaith6531the alerts were terrible. My area definitely felt like a tornado hit..I got the weather alerts after the damage had already started. Did alot of damage in only a few minutes and I still haven't heard anything about a tornado touching. down. Not sure if it was but I never experienced anything like it
I got nothing….i came out to drive Uber and didn’t even realize there was a tornado warning in effect, until I got in the car and heard it on the radio station….now mind you, I had looked at my weather app earlier that afternoon , all it said was 80% rain expected at 3pm….i came out to drive around 3pm….no rain….then around 5:45-6:00pm the sky gets really dark, rain and wind get heavy (this is in Pearland, Tx, South of Houston)…..it last until about 8pm then the sky gets super bright and I can see a rainbow behind the cloud
@@dmatrix3485 you guys okay?
Sounds like a 📽️🎞️🏆
shes pretty but gotta get her to stop saying “like”
Tire sales will be good from broken glass because people want to 👀. No proper footwear
So many fires, the climate is already tired, let's take care of the forests. The United States is the epicenter of tornadoes. May God protect all the inhabitants of the United States. Let's take care of the forests, please.
That's creepy.
Very crazy
With Deepest Sympathies for the loss of Bob’s wine dinner.
houston better prepared for hurricanes from the southeast, not hurricanes from the northwest
They need to start reclassifying these storms.
I have this weird feeling those windows will not be repaired.
It is just the way things are going lately in Houston.
Wow, that is a really bizarre nonsensical thing to say
Houston will recover faster than most cities
Skyscrapers are privately owned, unless it's a government building
@@AlienGirl24 lol
Those buildings not built properly
😂 Thank the asylum seekers.. this is the beginning folks. Cheap labor =piss poor quality
Glaziers are gonna be thriving.

Finally a new EF5 since 1 decade+?
I live in the UK. Only ever been to New York once. Hardly ever hear any American news, only Biden and Trump. Anyway, this is scary stuff and hope everyones ok. But RIP to the I think 4 who died. Hope the number doesnt increase. x
I can control it.
Looks more like a down force than straight wind
Boo Hoo Bob. 4 people died and your worried about your wine dinner.
LOL, Bob is like that meme of the white guy who isn’t bothered while everyone else is in a panic 🤣
We here in the Mohave desert experience micro burst
When the heavy rain pushes the air out sideways and very strong winds cause damage..

“And everything like that”…..Note: if you don’t have anything to say, please stop talking. And yes, windows have been blown out.

Well, they’ve pulling in second and third stringers to cover the whole city
They're not worrying about professionalism when covering these types of stories, they're just trying to inform the public and stay safe while they're doing it
