Ocho Rios, Jamaica - Part 1 - Sandals Ochi Resort

In February 2024, we vacationed in Jamaica at the beautiful Sandals Ochi Resort to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. We stayed in a Honeymoon Grande Luxe Poolside Villa Club Level. We absolutely loved the privacy and luxury of having a pool right outside our door. At the resort, the customer service, property grounds, restaurants, and beach were all well above our expectations. My favorite part of our stay was looking out over the stunning turquoise waters. His favorite part was the delicious food! We also both loved the adults-only feature of this resort. There is no other place quite like Jamaica - every time we visit, we feel the love and peace of this special place and it’s people.

what was the room category you stayed in? We are coming in October and see our room category changed from PV to NPV. New pictures on line show a more modern room.

How was the resort ?! I’ve been reading bad reviews.. we are staying there in 40 days as first timers!

We loved the resort! The service was fantastic, with staff being very accommodating and friendly. The food was also a huge plus for us. We enjoyed every single meal and felt the quality was on par with nice restaurants from home. Be sure to make restaurant reservations as soon as you check in. Everything was very clean, from our rooms to the common areas, and the grounds as well. The only potential negative would be the size of the resort. We didn't mind it, but if you stay on the "hillside" portion of the resort, you have to ride on "The Hop" bus to be transported to the other "beach sides" of the resort. Also, I would check with your travel agent or with Sandals directly to see how the repairs are going with the beach area. As you can see from our video a huge storm came through toward the end of our stay, which caused significant damage. They may still be working on repairing the beach area and docks, and that could impact your stay. Wouldn't hurt to double check. Have a great vaca!

@@Gmariex0726the hibachi was pretty standard and just like any other that I have been to. Sushi was really good with a nice selection of rolls, and to be completely honest we would sometimes go there before or after our "real" dinner to have some rolls as an extra appetizer. It was that good. Our true favorite restaurant though was the french restaurant though. If you want a nice sit down service for breakfast, that is the place to go. As for drinks, they have a nice list of specialty drinks that all of the bars offer. I didn't have one that I didn't like! :)
