    I fixed this issue by simply reducing the gain for the TA system. Feedback now completely gone

    Mine feeds back if I leave it alone and full on, but not really a problem during playing. It is sensitive and alive, I don't think I would want it deadened down, which may be what Yamaha do to returned guitars via different electronics or settings?

    Feedback ruined the "ToneAmp" device for me and I realize now that all the videos demonstrated the product (the one that is held magnetically on the backside of the instrument) were all with the performer touching the strings and defeating feedback in that way. As I write this, however it occurs to me that having to defuse feedback by touching the strings is not a HIGH PRICE for the convenience, the luxury, of reverb (and more) on the acoustic without any amplifier! As long as the feedback doesn't distort actual picking. Maybe this tranacoustic is still a good deal??

      I'm pretty sure you turned on controllers fully. Just reduce a bit and it will stop. Feedback is quite normal behaviour of such a system.

      Yes, Yamaha replaced the internal electronics under warranty and I have rarely experienced the same problem.

  • @kookiebub
    @kookiebub Před 5 lety +3

    Surely this is normal ? Undamped strings and a pickup/amp combo, driving a hard surface driver in the soundbox, making the strings resonate more and the feedback cycle starts and soon runs away, just like a mic'd guitar would ?

    Another update: over a month later I am still waiting on the repair. Told multiple times by Yamaha staff that parts were still on the way so I no longer trust what they say. Needless to say, don't buy a transacoustic unless you have a few guitars and can wait a couple of months if it fails. Tried getting some help via their Facebook channel, was told not to as they don't provide customer support using social media.

    aggiornamento : ho voluto ricontrollare e con mia sorpresa non mi da piu’ questo problema.
    strano ma vero.
    l’unica cosa che mi viene da pensare e’ che ultimamente ho cambiato la selletta in plastica adattando quella della ls 36 in osso.

    the only thing that comes to mind is that lately I changed the plastic saddle adapting that of the ls 36 in bone.

      La mia non era piana. Ed era molto lasca rispetto alla sede del ponte.
      Io ho risolto al 100% dopo la sotituzione della sella. Prima della sostituzione la chitarra emetteva un fastidioso fischio.. Ora zero!!
      Controlla la base della sella mettila in un piano e fammi sapere se anche la tua non è piana!!

      Nelton Koo , if you haven’t already, take it back for repair and make a complaint to Yamaha Singapore. Hopefullly they will take this problem seriously and do something about it particularly given that is a problem since new for at least two guitars in Singapore. Given it’s a small market and the LS-ta is one of the their more expensive guitars there wouldn’t be that many sold here.
