Playing guitar in a great sounding room is the most inspiring, engaging playing experience imaginable - far more enjoyable than in a dry-sounding room like a lounge, office or den. Yamaha’s TransAcoustic Guitar recreates the incredible experience of playing in a rich, live room without needing any external amplification or effects - just the guitar itself. Whether you’re practicing, writing, recording or just playing for fun, the TransAcoustic Guitar will make you play better, longer and with more creativity. Once you’ve experienced it, you’ll never want to play another acoustic guitar again.

Jon. I picked up an LL-TA a few years ago and love it. I figured even if the electronics crapped out over time it's still a beautiful acoustic guitar. So several months in it developed an annoying vibration sound inside on certain notes. The dealer tried to fix the battery container a couple times but failed. I contacted Yamaha Canada and they right away paid shipping both ways and fixed the noise. But a very small 2" long crack started in the top beside the neck, from shipping across the country. Yamaha without any issue at all sent me a brand new LL-TA no charge or squabble. I'm very impressed with the guitar and the company. It's a keeper. And I really enjoyed hearing you play that one. Chow.

I bought one about a year ago, use it allot playing all sort of gigs, big and small. This is a full blown professional guitar, holds tune like no other and just feels and sounds great. Yamaha did a great job with these.

I bought the LL-TA (Vintage Tint) yesterday. As soon as I hit the first chord I was sold. Bell-like clarity with the kind of depth and warmth you normally only find on guitars costing two or three times what Yamaha are selling for. It hits you in the gut. The sustain is excellent, build quality is top notch, and personally I think they designed this neck specifically for my hands.
The tranAcoustic chorus and reverb just kick the whole thing up another level. I've barely put it down since I got home yesterday and I still can't get over how good it sounds.
    Solid pro-level guitar for +/- €1,000 👍

    great review and demo, Jonathan!
When I was shopping for my Yamaha LS-TA, the thing that sold me was the sound of the guitar without the effects engaged. It’s crisp, and has a nice balance across the strings. The sustain is wonderful, and the tone is also very nice. I think it’s very “piano-like”.
When I engaged the reverb, it was like I was transported to another world. It’s one of those guitars you don’t want to put down.
I absolutely love my Yamaha, and I know anyone looking into these will love them, too!
I know Yamaha are not ghost built, as they have their own production facilities.
Also, Yamaha was the first to this technology...NOT the Tonewood amp.
The Englemann spruce top is not generally found in acoustics at this price point. It’s generally reserved for much more expensive instruments.
    Beautiful song you played, too!
    Love you, man!
    🐰❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️

Jon, I bought this exact guitar based on this review. I now have had it for about 5 months now. I have never enjoyed any guitar more than this one.
It is so addicting to play, because I love the sound and action. I love the effects with you anywhere, no need to drag an amp and pedals around.
It is wonderful to just take anywhere in the house or out on the patio to just play wherever you want and have the beautiful sound with the effects on board.
It travels with me too, when I make trips to see family for three or four days.
This guitar has inspired me to start playing more often again.
This guitar sounds and plays better than high end guitars that cost three times as much.
Thank you for guiding me this direction.

I have been a huge fan of these Yamaha TransAcoustic since its inception in 2016. It is such a glorious instrument and the reverb and chorus effects, just adds a nice touch. It is something which can't be explained through words. One has to fully immerse themselves with the instrument to truly understand the nature of the TransAcoustic Guitar. Now if Yamaha introduced a Made in Japan model of the TransAcoustic, I would most definitely, without hesitation, buy that guitar.

I have had one of these for 3 years now, such a good guitar and I am sure I turn the TA on for a bit every time I play it, because I can! I had the FG model first, nowhere as nice as the LL, I advise everyone to own one! The TA quit in the first 30 days so I returned it and ordered the LL because I was sold on the TA with that FG.

I just bought the FG-TA last week, total impulse buy. (Wife was not happy) Edited because now I have more guitars than motorcycles. Whoops! :) Oh well, anyway, I started playing after a 25 year break, of course I totally forgot everything. I found this video, and I love the first song! I also noticed that you pick with your thumb and index finger. I just started doing that a few weeks ago and it the easiest for me. Very cool! New subscriber for sure!

I've played this guitar and had a chance to put it up against their Japanese high level guitars. First off, Yamaha was my first accustic guitar and I still have one. But My Martin D-28 is my favorite now.
I found the Trans- Accustic to be a wonderful guitar and the effects are really cool if you play without an amp. But, I still found their top end Japanese guitars to be my favorites.
The wood on them was thinner and resonated better producing a superior sound.

Jon, I have the same guitar, and really enjoy it. I was changing the strings a couple of days ago when the bridge nut fell out of saddle. When I went to replace it I noticed that the nut sits right on top of the pickup contacts of the saddle. My question is there anything that goes between the bridge nut and the pickup that may have fallen out? The reason I’m asking is the sound of the guitar seems a bit tinny to my ear or am I just imagining this? You are a very accomplished guitarist and your skills really accentuate the beautiful sound of the LLTA. Thx

Hi Jonathan, and thanks for looking at this guitar for the rest of us(not having played one myself)Did I hear you say something about the line out still having the effects on when plugged in?And do they sound the same or similar to the room sound from a
mic' , for example? And I must agree that placement of the tuner LCD is a rare design fumble from Yamaha, and I should say that I always thought Yamaha had the best ears for sound and tone, maybe from making pianos and stuff like that- and until probably ten or so years ago when Asian built acoustics started to sound good, they were , to me before that never quite as warm and rich and natural as Yamaha guitars.Of course now many fine sounding acoustics are made in the Asian factories, but 30 years ago, many just sounded cold or neutral: apart from Yamaha and one or two others.Whether from carefully selected and prepared woods, or digital alchemy, they still sound amazingI think they should come WITH headphones( even basic folding ones as you used to get with the scholtz rockman's) without phones the guitar lacks versatility and ease of use in the everyday setting.Anyway I've gone on too long, so I'll see you on CZcams again soon!
