- Wrestlemania 24 was the last Wrestlemania of the ruthless aggression era. This show just had a vibe, WWE in 2008 was a fun time, the roster was a nice mix of veterans and new talent. The presentation of WWE was much better now as they finally went HD. Heading into WrestleMania 24, the fans were excited for this show, and this show definitely lived up to the hype. This show had one of the most emotional wrestling matches ever, along with one of the best celebrity matches ever and an amazing main event for the World Heavyweight Championship. This show just looked beautiful. WrestleMania once again felt like WrestleMania. So lets go back to 2008 and take a look at WrestleMania 24

It's so weird listening to someone today talk about "the good old days" of wrestling in 2008. The internet was filled with people absolutely shitting on the product, talking about "the good old days" of the late 90's, and how bad wrestling had become. I must admit, I was kind of apart of that crowd (being only 15 at the time) but I look back now and I can appreciate it wasn't as bad as maybe we all thought it was. Goes to show, always enjoy life. Because one day, you'll look back at all the good things, as when you're in the moment, they pass you by.
SiloNova that’s why even these days man I don’t like shitting on the product or making videos about how THIS should have happened or THAT. You just gotta enjoy man
Same I was 15 knowing this was inferior to the attitude era but now I look back at this as “classic” wwe
Yea people hate on things just cause they aren't used to how it used to be it's really sad and annoying
As someone who grew up during the attitude era I admit being guilty of doing that. It wasn't that the ruthless agression era was bad. Actually from a wrestling standpoint it was superior to the attitude era. It's just I was in high school during the attitude era and Monday night wars and nothing matches the electricity of that era. Its hard to explain if you weren't around for it.
SiloNova EXACTLY!! I remember everyone used to talk shit about wrestling during those days but now they look back at it being a classic.
I swear, nobody talks about that Orton/Cena/H Triple Threat. Underrated match honestly.
Cam / The Unstable Nerd it’s because randy orton won, the favorite to win the match was cena or triple H but they didn’t except orton to win, people wanted to see a new champion
If IT was the main event or the title changed IT Will be more rem3mbered
I've always loved that match and I agree it deserves more
The problem was, that this WM had too many Highlights. The Money In The Bank Ladder Match, the totally thrilling match between Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels, the main event, Chavo getting squashed and even Floyd Money Mayweather. Orton vs Triple H vs Cena would've been MOTY-candidate as a main event of any other PPV. But at this particular evening, with all those special matches it came out as a dull Triple Threat nobody remembers. The defense of Orton made this one even more hard to remember in retrospective. Same thing with the Triple Threat one year later.
(If you dont like To read Then just Hit Read More for the shortened version, look for The Long story Short)
but Think about It like This...
The year Is 2008, and the Most Hated Heel at the time is Champion.
Flash foward To the Rumble And "DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUUUNNNN" Here comes Cena Who Went Ghost Almost missing Mania and Comes Back At The magic 30 Bomb winning the Whole Damn Thing!
Now Head to no Way Out Where Hunter Believes He Has Some unfinished Business(mainly since He did at that time).
And Add A Cocky Orton Who believes These Two Rice Burners aren't Even Good Enough To lace his Boots, And that Nobody Will Respect him ever unless he shows he's Elite
To THINK That This Match Would End With A New Champion was TOTALLY FAIR And Acceptable, because Cena Would've Beat Flairs Record Later Down the Line and Ended his 08' Mania season With a Perfect Cinderella Story.
Trips Wouldn't Have Had Anything To gain Other That Another Title Dub At WM and Payback For Getting Screwed. At N.W.O.
Where as Orton, If he pulled off the Win Somehow Would've Been Seen as The BIGGEST Main Event Threat of that Era, AND would've Been Seen as An Elite player. But nobody Wanted to see Him Winning. "Rodger Goodell Challenge"
So To SEE The Ending All of us didn't Think Would happen? BROOO! To The Fans there or at Home Globally...thats Word To NonPoint Cause Everybody down.
Thats Word To Disturbed cause Everyone was Down With the Sickness...
Orton Was On his GOOBA Shit that night, He was on Some "Talk Ya' Shit, or let ya nuts drag Bitch" type stuff.
everyone down to They Moms Was Sick As Fuck when they Saw That Boot caressing The Side Of Hunters Face.
He Stole The Win Right Out, No Cheap Shit, No Interference, Straight 1..2..3.. the Heel had won, The Heel had everyone talking that night...But sadly not enough.
(Long Story Short): the outcome of that triple Threat seemed too good to be true but Thats Because it was!
The Fact That It isn't Talked about as a M.O.2008 candidate Is a Whole 2 Pack of Ass(Word to joe budden).
It's One of those matches That doesn't get Respect Because Of How Sick The Fans Were After The Bell.
anyone Who Has Seen this match Will be like "Yeah It was Cool but Orton Won So it kinda killed The Show for me"
Well Yeah it kinda did for me too But if Orton Were to lose There? Then SOMEONE ELSE Would've had to Hold Their L that night, And you Know How That Would've went...(Looking At 15-1 Deadman)
Plus him being the Bad Guy And Winning? That Was All orton needed To get You talking. Controversy is, Was, and will forever still be a form of Publicity, no matter who is the Center.
And y'all know How The Internet Gets Reeeeaaalll Dirty Bout THAT kind of Subject. But lets Talk about it. "MGK Challenge"

that was the night ric had his last match where he officially retired
*now let's just remember that moment and pretend he never went to tna at all*
That's what I do haha.
No he didnt go to TNA he was just sleeping
@@isaah4612 good. He needs his rest after 36 years of entertaining us. Either way still one of the best Matches, moments and and personifies what Pro Wrestling is to us.
Lol right, what a slap in the face to WWE. But i heard HBK had no problem, he knew Ric was broke and in debt so he Ric had to make some money somehow
TNA Flair is just a terrible dream from an alternative reality
I think Ric Flair was good even he's 59 he didn't even botch himself
I remember having this wrestlemania on one of those UMD PSP disks
And it was my childhood.
Bruh,, hell yea, same here.
God I miss being 10 years young.
Yo same here this was the first wrestlemania that I watched
WM 24 was full of great moments like JBL and Finaly's underrated brawl, Floyd vs Big Show, Ric Flair's last dance and classic match with HBK, Orton shockingly retained the WWE title against Cena and HHH and Undertaker vs Edge. This WM is a pleasure to watch
Slick Exact like HBK vs Taker was an legendary match so that should had been the main event. Also Orton vs Triple H should had been an no holds barred match and Orton should had won
IMO Undertaker Should've Been The One To End Ric Flair's Career Since Undertaker Has Fought Flair Before At WrestleMania X8
@@futuregohan4837 I know but at the same time, Taker's feud with Edge was already boiling since May of 2007

I remember wanting EDGE to win because he was such a good heel for the last years that I really thought he would deserve it.
I really loved WM24
@SCARYDAB FOLKSCURRY well kurt angle would have been amazing.
Watch angle vs taker at No way out 2006.
One of my favorite matches ever!
I was so sure he'd win, he seemed to have an out for everything, and (excluding 1 money in the bank) he was unbeaten at WrestleMania as well, easily my favourite storyline and match of all time. Love Edge
I didn't like Edge but I had been sick of Taker for like 9 years already. I didn't care who, I wanted Taker to lose lol
The heat edge would get if he ended the streak would’ve been amazing 😂
@Mr. SuliMan he probably wouldn't be able to leave that Stadium that night haha. Edge was The Heel In 08.

Great vid as always man, thanks.
Felt that, even tho i was only 7
RHCP is a classic.
I still think the greatest Mania feud is HBK vs Undertaker and technically HHH vs Taker is also apart of that

Agreed
This wrestlemania broke my cherry as well. I miss these days
Ah the rivalry of my childhood Edge vs Taker, hope to see a whole video based on this rivalry, idc bout Wrestling Premiers, WrestlinGifs is where's it at 💯
Wrestling premier has the worst voice imo and he struggles to say full paragraph, cuts up have sentences.
Or is that just me
The best spot in that Flair and Michaels match was when Flair went to the top rope and finally hit a cross body after trying and failing for 40 years 😂
He literally won multiple World titles with a flying crossbody. It's crazy how people change history
lastnight on april fools you should have made a video called "why was wrestlemania 17 so trash?"
Idea: what made Wrestlemania 31 so confusing, yet so fun
“The heist of the century”
WrestleMania 31 was so very unique and solid. It was the last good wrestlemania. Until 35.
Jeffy The 18 Year Old 31 was top 10, 35 was good but I wouldn’t put it as top 10, honorable mention, but Not top 10

It's such a shame Floyd "Money" Mayweather was never a playable character in WWE games cause his intro was flames
This Match Edge vs Undertaker proved EDGE CAN THROW DOWN‼️👏🏾
what about Edge vs Cena at Unforgiven 2006? That match was awesome. Or even Edge Vs Orton at Vengence 2004? That one was epic too.
I like to think Edge vs The Undertaker like, The Bad Boy Pistons vs Jordan.
When it mattered the most, Jordan/Undertaker, came up big.
The Bad Boy Pistons/Edge, the most hated throughout their time.
And in the 80s, it was the other way around! The Bad Boy Pistons are one of my favorite teams of all time, but that might be because I’m biased towards the Pistons
First wrestlemania I vividly remember watching, this wrestlemania made me love the wwe 100x more

After the hell's gate submission by Taker, Edge started bleeding and back in the day I thought that shit was real lmao. Such a nostalgic Wrestlemania.
