Gorgeous GTX. When these cars are restored they look and go like a new vehicle with the exception of those door rattles and clangs from the drivers side window mechanism.I think this GTX has one of the nicest paint and stripe combinations available at the time.
I had several , road runners , chargers , they were rattle traps 4 sure ! When you'd shut the doors there was a tinny , hollow sound , but they were very powerful, my 71 charger had front and rear anti sway bars, they were not many cars with the rear ones, that dodge handled like it was on rails, !
They were solid its the door glass tracks that would rattle,like GM/Ford cars did also...You have to repair them and they are solid...I restored many Mopars....I bought a babied 1 owner 68 Charger RT in late 80's and never wrecked it lol..the doors always shut solid with a thud and never had glass rattle...I had a 1972 Charger Rallye that was owned by 3 young guys in its lifetime and it rattled like crazy when you shut the doors...I went in and repaired the tracks and door panels,then it was solid..The glass even was solid after,didnt jump around like it was on meth! I agree with you they handled like on rails especially with the sway bars...Chrysler products from the late 1950's-60's and 70's handled better than GM/Ford cars because of torsion bars and their suspension set up..
My farther friend had a roadrunner 440 6 bbl plum crazy purple with white interior 4 speed my farther had a 1970 Buick 455 4 speed he said the roadrunner would run circles around his car
advertised horsepower was 390....that was the old fake gross number.....the real SAE NET horsepower is really 325.......and most modern V-6 engines can do that. A 2022 Dodge 5.7 puts out 375 net---or 50 more....
@@cmscms123456 My numbers are 100% fact and 100% accurate goober....440-6 325 horsepower, 426 Hemi 350 net horsepower, all taken from the 1972 MOPAR parts catalogs.....you run fix-it videos on you tube like you are some expert, yet are so stupid, you don't even know the difference between GROSS horsepower (fake numbers used by car makers until 1971) and NET horsepower (the REAL numbers used starting in 1972). Horsepower on the 440-6 in the video is 325 NOT 390, and any 2022 Dodge with common 5.7 V-8 will blow it off the road in a race, even with its massive extra weight of 4200 pounds. Get yourself educated about what is real so you don't look dumber.
....new vehicles that weigh 500-1500 lbs heavier than this beauty. These beauties were way underrated for insurance reasons. Closer to 500hp, and with a few engine mods and slicks, it ran low 11's! Nice Try though!
