Rode in the back of the wagon version of this as a kid. It did just fine carrying the whole family and towing the family boat.

That's nice. When you started the Firebird, I could hear it burble. Pontiac cars were noted for that sound. I hope I spelled it right. Burble.

I don't get it! The previous owner was worried about changing the car and keeping it stock. Why add the bigger motor and other goodies? The back seats are worthless, and those speakers will probably make indentations on the original seats. There's tons of OEM reproduction parts for that GTO. If it were me, I would have swapped the original package tray and the interior door skins. Bought a retro stereo! IMO, the way the car looks now is cheesy. Could have covered the amp tray, too! So the wood didn't stick out like a turd in the punch bowl....

My father owned a yellow.. Came with two antennas on the rear fenders..

This is the same as my first car in about 1960 it had leather upholstery. I used to carry a new head gasket as it used to suddenly blow and I used to just change it on the side of the road using a ring spanner. Also the shocks were clapped still it was a great old car.
