Nikki reed who played Rosalie in the twilight series dyed her hair blonde in the first movie, but had to continuously bleach it about every other week to keep her roots from showing, and it destroyed her hair afterwards. so after finishing the first film, she strictly wore wigs for the rest of the series

My hair has been fried many times by both myself and professional stylists. Once, I had a seizure resulting from oxygen toxicity while having my hair done and another time, a stylist talked me into lifting my hair 6 levels in one afternoon and I had it all snap off 3 weeks later.
I no longer change my hair colour.
Carl Payne should have been an honorable mention. He got heat damage during his time on the Cosby Show for an episode plot. He got fired for it even though it was what they wanted him to do.

Yeah, his hair had to be bleached so much fpr the role of Spike that he even had sores on his scalp from the chemical burns.

I don't understand if they're worried about ruining their hair, wear wigs. The wigs today are amazing and look so real! They could have been used to make your hair red or bleached out. Synthetics are cheaper than real and the studios can afford them. I get Charlene's buzz cut you can't fake but if they're really worried about all the color changes just pop on a wig!

Milla Jovovich in the 5th element. Start of filming, they dyed her hair flame colors. It made her hair fall out and break off. Finished filming in wigs.

Salt asymmetric hairstyle wasn't on purpose.
Her sister just got her beautician’s license.
She permed her hair and burned it off, and she had to shave the side of Salt's hair.
She had to pencil it in with eyeliner to cover the bald spot.
I remember begging my mom to have my hair like Salt.
I wanted to dye my hair and shave my hair when i was in 6th grade.
2.Bobby Brown and his Gumby haircut was a mistake too.
Bobby's barber was cutting his hair, for the video Every Little Step I Take, when he wasn't paying attention. He was to busy looking at a girl and messed up Bobby's hair.
I remember Bobby’s Gumby cut started an entire look, black and white boys was wearing the Gumby😂

It's a shame that Ariana's hair got damaged but she had her hair down in the Beauty and the Beast music video so maybe her hair recovered or she got it fixed somehow
Yeah, her hair repaired quite quickly, and it looks so beautiful now and much healthier it's a shame she could not sue Nickelodeon for the damage.

@@annafowdy Yeah, she had to sign off her hair or something to Nickelodeon because they knew that Ari would sue them so they made her sign the rights to her hair to them, It's just such a sad story and I saw in an article somewhere where she was allegedly quoting "If they didn't force me to sign the rights to this hair, I would've sued the heck out of them" I'm not sure if that's true that she said that but if that were me I would do the same.

Ugh, so many. Recently, my hair was getting quite thin and very damaged after years of bleaching it and dying it fun colors. I let it grow out, and I've just started using henna to dye it. It's still drying and damaging, but less so. I hate the process. It's long, it's heavy, and it stinks, but i get the most gorgeous auburn red from it. I do add a bit of dragon's blood oil to the mix (it's supposed to add body when used on hair. I add other oils as well but they don't seem to affect the color) and that drastically changes the color of the henna, so it may be affecting the intensity of the red I'm getting as well, but i love it. I've also changed the products I'm using (biotin shampoo and conditioner seems to be really helping) and paying better attention to my nutrition. My hair is looking much fuller than it has in a long time. I really need a trim to get rid of some damage, but I'm hoping using henna will allow me to keep my hair healthy and still color it. Naturally, it's the most boring dull dishwater shade of brown. There are so many lovely shades of brunette, but i was not blessed with one. Idk also, there's something special.... almost spiritual.... for me knowing that I'm coloring my hair in much the same way people have been for millenia.

Gillian Anderson had the same problem as Kate Winslet. She was a natural blonde who dyed her hair red. In the last two seasons of The X-Files, she opted for wigs.
I used to dye my hair to a shade of blonde that made my hair look like I was wearing Big Bird's feathers on my head.

One of my closest friends frequently dyes and bleaches her hair, and while she uses vegan products, it has damaged her hair so much. She has a pixie cut now, and is trying to not dye it.

I’ve had numerous hair problems throughout my life and only recently (about 6 years ago) was I finally able to get it to where it is now (healthy, thick and with volume) and I’m not going back to where I used to be

I once had an idea for a TV show where the main character had pink hair, but if it were to be a reality, I would hope the actress wouldn't be forced to dye their hair, as someone who's had their hair bleached and dyed (felt like acid poured in my scalp).

In 2021, I decided to change my hair to a classic side part. My mother broke balls for over a year that it wasn’t done right. Had to go three different barbers to get her to stop complaining. The third one got it right initially, then fucked it up in time for my brother’s wedding, so all the whining was for nothing. So I went back to the barber I liked originally, and she figured out that she has to use only scissors for my hair because it is too thin to use clippers. Never again will I listen to my mother.

I must be lucky or weird because I’ve never had damage to my hair due to dying it. I’ve dyed my hair just about every color of the rainbow and bleached it several times. I also have curly hair 😂
My first movie I did in Cali when I was in my early 20’s gad me die my hair blonde. We had a horrible hair person and she dyed it and it was orange. I had to go to the professionals. My hair was so fried. And my hair is way long. Had to do the same thing. Bob cut. My hair is again extremely long and I barely ever use heat on it. Castor oil and rosemary water and rice water to keep my nappy do friz free.

I read in Sam Heughan‘s biography Waypoints in Outlander the first 2 seasons from the red hair dye his hair would fall out in chunks and it irrevocably damaged his hair to this day. Now he wears wigs on the show

You missed Hilarie Burton on One Tree Hill. Her hair was ruined in the early seasons of OTH having to go so blonde and curly. She chsnged her look in S3 to not have curly gair for that reason and had darker hair by S6.

The hair can grow out but can also undergo months or a year of split ends and fried pieces of hair that always require product for damaged hair, but yes it can grow back.

I really wish this list included women of color as A LOT of them have to dye, cut, heat, etc their natural hair to oblivion just to fit the industry standards. A lot of people on this list had similar hair and, therefore, similar problems to each other. This list doesn't even scratch the surface of people with other textures.

These days they just use wigs , i all ready wasnt lucky to be born with the best hair but ❤ coloring it in every color of the rainbow and it was more then bad, sometimes i just want to save it off but i dont have a head for it 😂😂 So just use wigs in these movies😊
