Just to clarify:
1. The grass type Pokemon I caught was Toedscool (I forgot to update it on the challenge board a little earlier though haha)
2. The Maschiff shiny is confusing a lot of people so heres what happened. I legitimatley found a shiny Maschiff, however the footage of me finding it broke, so I just got a random clip of me encountering a regular Maschiff and edited an image of a shiny one over it just to repesent what it would of looked like haha.

Honestly so glad the consequence of failing the challenge isn't something so dumb and wasteful as releasing them, happy you surprise traded them instead like others really should be doing, just so much better to me!

Funny story, I also had a lot of trouble hunting Shiny Dondozo. I found a full odds, no charm shiny Goomy in the wild during the hunt. IDK if its even worth getting the shiny charm in this game because of how easy it is to get them anyways. Just caught shiny Roaring Moon btw.

Caught my first shiny today, Froslass, this video definitely helped. It took about an hour hunting and I was almost going to call it quits and it just showed up lol. Thanks for the video

A couple thoughts now that I've completed the shiny living dex for every new pokemon this gen:
Everyone freaks out about Tauros but it's truly not a difficult hunt. It's colors are inverted on the shiny so it really sticks out when you look for the right thing.
The Tinkatink hunt was a nightmare for me too. It took me a grand total of 8 sandwiches to get the 3 that I needed.
Sandwiches are super broken. I used two switches to keep using the same HM without consuming them. There are numerous pokemon that I got all 3 shiny for each evolution in one sandwich. It's nuts.
Getting a Cetoddle outbreak was terrible for me too. The shadows make telling the shiny from one in poor lighting a really anxious endeavor.

There are a lot of great creators out there with great locations for pretty much every pokemon. Search up your pokemon before you start hunting!

Coincidentally I hunted swablu from an outbreak yesterday. I got the first one within a minute, and two more respawns later I got another. And then I went on to catch 3 Noibat from one outbreak. It was nuts.
I never do this. But this is the only video Iâve seen of yours and Iâm subscribing. Usually I watch a few vids to see the vibe but this was just such a delight to watch
For dondozo, I masuda hunted it, as both the intensely low FPS, and those Vaultin' Veluza were grinding my gears for that shiny.
great video! for a time based challenge like this i'd really like to see a timer or some sort of indicator of how long its been during the video. i think especially w the concurrent forfeit challenge and how long some of the hunts took, it would really help both ground the video and raise the stakes.
Yeah I totally agree I should of done that. My only excuse is that this project already took like over 100 hours and considering the footage is taken in clips of 2 minutes, Itâd be very hard to align the time correctly with the 100s of clips I did đ

@@jaydenwilson makes a lot of sense tbh, it would be a lot easier to do if you were using a capture card or something but I can see how that would be a nightmare using just clips taken on the switch itself. either way you did a great job and i really liked this video!!
Oh no I use a capture card but I choose to clip in 2 minutes because itâll end up being like 50GB of footage and not like 300 lmao. But again big thanks

@@kaidenrichards1045 yep, so far I've found Lechonk, Cufant, Hoppip and Litleo as full odds random encounters and Azurill, Buizel, Arrokuda, Wattrel and Shellder through 60+ KOs in outbreaks.

For Scarlet I completed the dex and got the Scarlet paradox shinies (Slither Wing is my favorite btw) but anyways before then I found a few full odds shinies one being Cacnea, Female Salandit, and a shiny mareep. Then I started hunting others like greavard,houndstone, klawf, and tinkatuff

The fastest shiny I've ever gotten in this game: Booted the game. Turned around and a shiny Yungoos appeared. Crazy lol
My fastest was not even 5 minutes in the game and I found a shiny flamigo when I was going to get wooper

Great collection! I have been really lucky so far and have 42 shinies (about half are full odds/from wandering the world before I got my shiny charm), my hours are at 145+ now though which is a lot more than 24.
My man be complaining it took 1 hour to get a shiny swablu me looking for 50 hours just to not find it also Iâm new already love these videos

Two of scarletâs hardest shinys are sandy shocks and roaring moonâŠ. And those paradox PokĂ©mon are competing against flutter mane that despawns during the daytime in the overworldâŠ
Yeah, but shiny flutter mane won't despawn if it spawns during the day, which is nice
Love the videos I prefer using the masuda method not bc it's more rare but I like to breed for shinies with good IVs I do like that they added a easier method for people who don't have as much time

My first shiny was caught a few weeks ago, it was a swablu, then a few days later I caught a shiny shinx, and then a few days ago I got a shiny gogoat, I think itâs really cool that all of them have gold
You can also use towns to desawn pokemon. Also I just found a full odds shiny Fidough from town respawns.

I'm 100 hours into the game and I've only gotten 5 shinies. I'm trying to get a shiny charm now so I can increase my odds. My best shiny right now is a Larvesta i encountered using the sandwich, and it took maybe 40 minutes to get. The other shinies were literally at random spawns and I traded a duplicate for a shiny Wattrel from a friend............who currently has 10 shinies

You are so lucky I only have three shines the first two I caught within ten minutes of eachother they were a psyduck and a paldean wooper and then the other which was a meditite I got in area zero a few weeks later
I thought that this was funny but that hoppip that was shiny I got it in the same exact place and position. Also Banette is my favorite glad to see its shiny in a video.

I havenât done the time skip method for outbreaks yet, and I have 32 shinys so far, I think Iâll use the skip and see how much faster I can get them
Yeah, Shiny Hunting in gen 9 is nuts, sometimes you'll be wandering around minding your own business and ohey 'that sheep is pink!'

If you do use the sandwiches prepare to come across a lot of them it's the very best way to shiny hunt heck even the normal non shiny sandwiches were pretty good at finding shinies

Personally, I use Ruination from one of the Ruin Quartet for shinies. Rather than false swipe. I don't trust 1 hp. But half is usually enough to be good enough to catch and for it to not die. If not, a second use with bring them down to a quarter.
After getting bombirdier in an outbreak yesterday I decided I wanted a shiny mankey for tera raids and found a shiny fletchling immediately upon landing at a tower then maybe a minute later I spot a shiny wooper! Use a fighting sandwich and get 2 mankey in the first 10 minutes of the buff. Today I got a basculin on the 29th feint of an outbreak. That's probably the only way to get one cuz I only stopped to check when mine refused to battle and almost left it. Next a shiny buizel on route to another outbreak. Then I got a cloyster from outbreak and bergmite while spawning the cloyster.

Yesterday i was hunting iron moth with isolated encounters. it took 50 minutes. then with a couple minutes left on my sandwich i decided to hunt volcarona. in 1 VERY makeshift loop i found it.

Hey, if it makes you feel any better with failing that Hopip shiny, I failed my matsuda method shiny thanks to the game crashing. I never though I could have my soul crushed by a game in such a way. Needless to say it took another day of Matsuda x shiny charm hatching to hatch a new sparkly skiddo.
Just fyi if anyone is still planning on hunting iron valiant, if you do a fairy type encounter sandwich and go through the crystal area in area zero itâs the only one that spawns of that type. A lot faster than the cave in the video. Found mine like 10 minutes in

The cyclizar hunt omg.. idk if I could handle that one.. i watched a group of murkrow spawn by a cliffs edge & 1 was shiny & ofc it was 1 of the 2 murkrow that KO itself off the cliff.... I looked down, nothing đ

i randomly got a shiny Cetoddle when going to fight that gym leader in glaseado. I had no idea how to evolve it for a while and it's still a cetoddle because i can't even find an ice stone
