Having a gravel drive at your shop, wow
Also. Not adjusting the foamLance. Good job😂
So you're telling me brillo pads and a bucket of floor cleaner is the wrong way to go!?
Yep, should’ve used a cream cleaner or swarfega with a handful of salt mixed into it 😜
You guys needed Car Cleaning Guru on the show with his trusty Guru Volvo V30 Polestar mobile
And he is wearing a wedding ring that can scratch the paint....hmm
Well, when you say "Till death do us part" it didn't have a clause "Except when cleaning cars" in there, now did it?
My car gets washed when it rains.
Winter has its benefits
Exactly
7,- Euro gasstation carwash every three years or so. I'll also drop 50 Eurocent in the pressure washer and knock off road salt after every winter spell.
Why he needs the car for two days:
1st day - Dog tf outta the car
2nd day- wash it , give it back like nothing happened
I washed my honda civic last weekend after four years and it looks brand new. I also saved $5k.
First rule of cleaning a car is do the wheels first.
Why?
nah, do em last you fool.
LMAO! ;-)
No.......just no........
The most time consuming part in detailing a car is the polishing, I know from experience. A half decent 3 stage polish will take 1 to 2 days depending how bad the paintwork is and how intricate the body panels are. Then you will have a day cleaning and decontaminating first and half a day to a day on the wheels. So for a very good detail you could be looking at 4 days. To clean, decontaminate and one stage polish my old Astra vxr and the. Protect with polish or sealant would take me a full day.
A lot of money is spent on products, some waxes can cost in excess of £1,000. Yes, you could say what the point but what’s the point in buying anything expensive, why buy a white t-shirt from Ralph Lauren for £80 when you could get the same for a tenner? You pay for the name and product. A car will always get dirty but proper protection will help protect the paintwork and keep it looking its best and ultimately help in resale value
That is a good point. Why buy a white T-Shirt from Ralph Lauren for £80 when you could get the same for a tenner? Why spend 2 days on polishing when you can take 2 hours?I'm also calling bullshit on the idea that "proper protection" will help the resale value. Unless you've got a colour which should be illegal, like red or black, you can leave a car dirty for months or years on end and it doesn't add a penny to the deflation.
Looks like I am going to be doing a bit of shopping :)
Definitely getting the microfibre towel! Not sure about the lambs thingy!
Ooh, the bucket is a yes :D
You should list in the description area, what was used in the cleaning of the car :)
Subbed!
And 10 minutes later, it starts to rain.
Zorak1988 yeah but the water will bead and will make it easier to wash the dirt off the next time. (5k is ridiculous though)
Details car in a gravel drive way.
Ikr wth
When he said 5,000 pounds he meant the weight of the car! The Rolls Royce Ghost weighs about 5,000 pounds
washing up liquid is great for removing wax, which is what you want to do when you're adding a ceramic coating or sealant
Washing up liquid does not stop wax that bull shit it leaves a film on the paint that gives the appearance that it’s been stripped only way is an abrasive polish then panel wipe to remove oils
Yes. The idea that it is bad for cars came from the days of terrible paint technology and cars starting to rust as they left the factory. The theory was: Because detergent breaks surface tension of water it would allow it to get in between folded seams of the metal bodywork more-so than water alone and therefore accelerate corrosion. The difference between dish-washing detergent and car-wash are the waxes & other protectant additives that would protect those spots it got into. However the failure of this theory is that the capillary action is actually REDUCED by adding detergent. The lower the tension the lower the capillary pressure. Plain water gets further into the seams.
People who use washing up liquid are dumb
im willing to wager if you did a trial with a good shampoo vs fairy liquid then did everything else the same over 2 years no one would notice anything. absolute bollocks. good luck with your Simonz folks! hahaha
Lots of hobbiest detailers do the same job for a fraction of the price all he does is a wash and polish. Even cheap shops know the basics of that and usually use clean products.
Why would you spend that much on something that will start gathering dirt the minute you drive it out of the lot? How long before you are required to spend that much again? Two days??
Richie Zed because the car has had paint correction and is now protected. So that means the next time the car is washed following these tips it’s much easier plus you get better results. If you’ve got an expensive car wouldn’t you want to take care of if?
More like a one year.. if you wash it like this even more. i polished my car every 4 months and put wax once a month.. cause I'm using much cheaper products..
Actually in just 15 minutes bird droppings magically appear on my car
u would understand if u were a car guy non car guys dont understand the point of this
If you spend 200k+ on a car it would be reasonable to spend 10-20k on maintainance every year. Plus if you just love cars it would justify even higher maintainance cost.
All this is basic stuff...5000?! Seriously?!
glovedcop69 this video I agree all basic stuff yes. But if u have a luxurious vehicle that needs a 3 stage paint recovery etc etc using the best products that can take up to two weeks to complete a car. Also I think they have said 5k to get views!
No car clean, however detailed takes 2 weeks. You can strip the entire car to bare metal and repaint in far less than 2 weeks and for less than £5000 as well. There are detailers near me that do a detail that is 7 days, and the only step different from their 24hr service is they use a stronger cutting compound first before the intermediate then high gloss. So they are basically saying it takes 6 days just to do one more pass with the DA with a stronger cutting compound. Even a novice can DA an entire car in a couple of hours. Its a con, the 7 days is literally there just to make it sound like you are getting alot more for your money than you actually are. The car will sit to one side in the workshop for 6 days then get done in one day.
Try wet sanding a whole car to perfection and then compounding and polishing all of it in one day.
Based on personal experience, resprays are usually far poorer than an OEM finish. The 5000 is literally a fully non existent exaggeration by with gear. The only service that should take anywhere north of 1250 would be a orange peel removal which is essentially full show car prep. and the results would be astounding and bar stone chips could easily surpass the majority of body shops in the UK at least lol
He says "up to £5k", which must include part restoration of interior and exterior.
Ok if you ignored my bike, for 5k I could just replace my car every time it got dirty, 5 times
Nice one. Heads up. As my Mazda 3 2018 has an ceramic coating applied to it. It does it no harm to wax it. Did not know about the STRAIGHT lines and just SUCKING up the moisture to dry it out. NICE ONE.
Are they realy cleaning it on gravel?
that was also a thing difficult to comprehend to me. If he says his standards are high, that is one major argument to contradict that. It's plain silly to wash any car in that environment, let alone one that is worth over 200k.
i hate fact, that car washes invest a lot of money to a sewage, and used water to run off. while these private washers just does this in their own backyard.
@@kerstas10 car washers usually dont use ph neutral shampoo, and that causes any protective layers like wax to strip off. so you should basically re-wax every time you wash at a carwash, wax costs money, takes time, ...at the end of the day handwashing leads to better results and its cheaper
Wait-did they not just say this was a fresh off the factory rolls? So why are there scratches in the paint and more importantly why are they using polish on a new vehicle? Is that really necessary
What's the use of cleaning in detail when it'll get dirty on the way back home?
@Farina Marcina wax attract dirt
@@hakman239 wtf, no it doesn't
M S if the wax is high in carrier oils it will be more prone to dust
Such an old episode!!, But it's nice to watch it again!!
Why do you guys keep uploading old videos ?
Because the series are discontinued, there are no new ones. The alternative would be to upload nothing, which is worse.
yeah, shut up Anusrag
ok sir whatever you say sir Hasry
Anurag Mehlla Anusrag
With that much I'll just repaint it again and it will be spotless
That is new paint dumbass
This was actually a good video...
How about a professional rip off?
Everybody has their living.
Mine is TV therapy, his being car washing, and yours is something too. We’re all prisoners to our budgets.
5000 Pounds ? WHAT ?
You do know that the 5000£ job, takes like 1-2 weeks?
GK Modelcar Universe that’s like a brand new car
No i did not. For me too expensive^^
yes but its a lot of money
GK Modelcar Universe Yes, a little glass vile of super high end car wax made with apricot souls and the tears of baby iguanas can easily cost multiple thousands of pounds! Honestly it's snake oil unless you're on pebble beach with a £10,000,000 concourse Bugatti and are expected to have no less.
This video was made in 2011-2012 as you can see by the number plate of the car and when he quoted “brand new car”and the quality of the video
@5:50 How i rub my dog belly in the middle of the night
His wearing a ring and watch that can scratch the car..... Wow🤦♂️
If he charges 5k to wash a car, chances are hes going to be careful with that
I like the mk10 jag in the background ☺️
OK, you roll your car in, it gets "detailed" for £5000, you roll it out and it gets just as dirty after ten minutes. What a bargain!
I mean, I would probably do something very similar to this, IF I had a Rolls Royce. But having a standard car like a Toyota Highlander, I just use a sponge and a bucket and that does the job just as well. But the biggest mistake people make when it comes to cleaning their car, is taking it to a car wash. Those machine are what truly destroy the paint on a car.
Did anyone noticed, the young guy is the one doing the FULL CHARGED program on CZcams, such along way😊
what about when paul used a sponge and one bucket on the maserati?
Also nowadays the paint protection films get yellow over time.. therefore washing correctly at the first place would really help us keep our car paint the best..
Just watching the last minute is enough, the rest just leaves us in envy
That yard on a windy day would be like a sandblaster ffs
I concur. For £5k a go (in 2017) I'd expect a clinical surgery for my car.
4.24 dragging cable across paintwork
Whenever I wash my car there is always a layer of dust/dirt covering the car the next day. (even though it's just been parked outside my house) It's so frustrating because I've spent most of my day cleaning the car thoroughly just for that to happen. What's going on?
Get a life mate.
Jesus his making it out it's rocket science I do my own car and it's no different to his finish.might give up the day job and start washing car's. 😁😁
Great job!
Some good basic tips here. You'll see the difference in a couple of years when your car still looks new because of the care taken to clean it. And that'll help resale value.
Bollocks. I've never done any of that stuff and the paint is just as good as it was when new.
OMG how young is Johnny
Nice job
But I love me £2 car wash
And a one pound fish
So let me get this straight, but every time you take your car in for a wash with this guy he polish is it at the end. Correct me if I’m wrong but does that not wear down the clearcoat rather quickly?
those scratches are made from the dealers regularly cleaning the car
People are thick. It was up to £5k. Not actually £5k for that. Listen closer
In Denmark a full detail with a 2-step polish and protectant costs £350-500. I don't understand why it costs so much. £5000?!?
MY NAN KNOWS HOW TO WASH A CAR
What is he using in the beginning?
The 2 bucket system definitely pays off along with the grid in the bucket. Once you have used a claybar you will notice the difference.
I don’t clay unless I’m machine polishing clay will cause marring ignore this now😂
This video barely even scratched the surface. I'll see myself out.
When you run out of video ideas
Paul dalton is the man , not this knock off detailer. ...look him up , I been doing this for a longggg time and Paul Dalton is top of the line professional in every way , his technique, his products etc... 100%
So how do you wash a black car if you dont have that sprayer thing and car wash brushes scratches the paint?
Get some showroom shine on it from QVC.....
that first coat of foam, wasn't thick enough and not sure, didn't say if he left a dwell time, on that note thank you and goodnight
my car goes through the car wash once a year after winter to (underneath spray)clean off the salt, it is now 19 years old and the paintwork looks like it just came out of the showroom last week, the secret to keeping your cars paintwork looking good is don't wash it,I am not BSing ,the more you wash the more scratches you make,a nice drive in the rain does the trick
that's worth like 1000 quid at best
there are more important things in life to worry about! the salesman will get his glasses guide out and give you next to nothing trade in, however you have cleaned your car.
I wouldn't use a power wash for starters but that is me.
Washes car outside were d
The wind can blow dirt on it again
Quick question: is it ok to hose down the engine bay in the car wash ?
Yes its perfectly safe, all components are waterproof anyway
Check out ChrisFix's "How to super clean your engine bay" video, it's good stuff.
No
Sakta ChrisFix is great but he often fails. He's a young guy simply without experience. His "expertise" is that he's great at videos. Classic example is his advice to clear-coat headlights. When you have actual experience you know this is just making it worse in the long run. Great video on how to do it tho ;-/
Adam Woodford Yes, "Waterproof" is a stretch but what do you think happens to an engine when you drive in the rain! Where do you think the water goes when it's forced through the radiator and other gaps at 60+ miles per hour? Nothing wrong with hosing your engine down under mild pressure. Just let it dry out adequately.
What's is the £5000 for? Because I do it for £300!
Marz 101 My 1964 Silver Cloud III is cleaned when it goes in for its service twice a year.
My car is worth less than the amount he charges...
Wish I'd seen this before I cleaned my new car the first time.
***Drives car out and hits a truck***
Looks like a bargain hunt fleece that! 🤔😆
A brand new Rolls Royce, with scratches ...WHAT
1:06 Metro!
Wash then dry? What happened to rinse?
My car is here for me and not the other way around. I hate people putting their cars on a fucking throne and just sitting around it. The car is made to give me an experience not to be perfect for the rest of its life.
Why you guys upload old videos
1 mud pudle, some rain ,and a pidgeon flybye later... XD ,i just cleaned my car.. wasched it ,cleaned the inside with a vacuum en used my box of car goodies too make it fresh and clean again.. cost me like a few euro,s and a afternoon.
Two days on a new clean motor would like to know how long he takes with a farmers range rover full of dirt and real scratches caused by bushes and not sponges
Washed bird crap off the hoot today, it's damaged the paint and it was protected with wax! Not happy!
A professional detailer, but the outside of his shop isn't nicely paved? Whaaaaa?
I wouldn’t even take my Ram 1500 to this back alleyway chop shop.
I pay £7 for a hand car wash, seems to look like new after
And...what about the interior?
The second it is dry, it will pick up dirt again!!!!!
Royle family car cleaning........wait for rain clouds on the way.......rush out and cover the car with washing up liquid......go back inside and have cup of tea.....job done
Noah
Isn’t Swissvax a rebrand of ColourLock ??? Massively marked up ...
I'd rather have it ceramic coated, even easier maintenance washes and you wouldn't have to wax it every 6 months, unless you just enjoy that process..
it's 2017 and they still use 480p or 720p camera's
MauriceNL I'm guessing this is a 5 year old video as he said the Rolls is brand new but it is a 12 plate 🤔
It’s an old video, they posted it before though re-uploaded it. The video is from late 2012
Gazza Clarkson Well played sir.
Probably the only person that watches car tips but don’t actually have a car
ITT: Plebians
Defeats the purpose if you have to drive in gravel road to get in and out of there
No water means swirls in the paint end of
There's one born every minute......
5000? He better be washing my car in gold feeding my kids paying my debt and giving me some extra cash
Just thought I’d leave a tip 🧐water and fairy liquid
That's one method to con wealthy people.
bobmamipoko Anyone who buys a new Rolls Royce is already used to being ripped off.
5k?? No car cleaner is worth that, by any standard.
henry horse If you owned a vehicle that was worth in excess of £200,000 or if you own a classic that can easily run into the millions then you would happily pay £5,000 to have the very best detailer work on it, if it’s value gets damaged by improper care then you would be daft not to use someone who knows the best way to care for it. These guys measure paint depth, they strip sections of bodywork off the cars to clean and protect sections that are impossible to reach with a normal clean. You are paying for a lot of skill, a lot of knowledge and the security of knowing that your car is in the very best hands.
After a washing like this, my '99 Civic better look like a Royce.
How to needlessly split your infinitives
