True Grit Gravel Race Highlights 2021

Race Recap:
Harshest, Coldest, snowiest, muddiest, grittiest conditions I’ve ever raced in!I started well and was in the lead group till flatting on the first climb. My co2 froze the valve and didn’t add much air, but filled up again at the top from a nice gentlemen with a floor pump. Thank You!
Conditions were nasty with snow and gnarly roads, and the hardest part was snow build and smudges on the glasses, I couldn’t see 💩. I gained a couple positions on the way down the mountain, but lost too much air and had to fill it up again at aid station 3.
From here we worked onto the rollers of doom, I saw 5 tire tracks in front of me, sweet, I’m in 5th. Pass another rider, now in 4th. 3rd suffers a mechanical, now up to 3rd, podium position!
At this point, I’m in a full on blizzard in the middle of the dessert, on my own. This is nuts!Mile 60ish, time to go back down, starting with sloppy snow, then sloppy mud making it thought to go 12mph, downhill!
Eventually the road got better, speed went up, and with 10 miles to go, the sun came out, and all pavement slightly downhill to the finish. I rolled up in 3rd place, podium, hell yeah! 🤘
