    Dave I decided to order one after seeing your video and Wow, after a setup it's absolutely incredible! Excellent tuners, big neck, big fretwire and perfectly level frets, which allows for super low action! I've owned high end teles like fender cs and Nash and I've owned inexpensive teles like Harley Benton and Squiers. This gear4music relic is the most enjoyable playing tele that I've ever owned and so I just bought a 2nd one! What a incredible bargain! A big Thanks to your video Dave!

    OMG you've got my favourite guitar, it's bloody brilliant! I've not seen anyone on YT review it. I've got nine or ten guitars and this is THE one I always go to and love. I'm going to get another in case anything happens to my first one. Thanks Dave you've made my day :-)

    I always say a guitar is a keeper when I feel comfortable around it, like it's an old friend. This guitar truly made you feel welcome right away. You play it like you've had it for 20 years. Great playing, as always, and a wonderful "Old Soul" guitar!

    I bought mine for the looks first and foremost and had plans to mod it. But after I got it and gave it a much needed setup it was just good as is. 170 well spent. And I love both the width and feel of the neck
    It's now my favorite guitar and a beater because it's reliced anyway. I don't feel like I have to baby it because I could damage the pretty glossy finish. It's got a real punk rock vibe to it in my opinion. Pair it with that Behringer amp and you're done for under £300. I'm getting one for the holidays

I hear why you don't want to put it down.Your playing always makes me wan't to pick mine up and then I don't wan't it down, Oh buy the way I got my first Les Paul Special and it's in TV-Yellow. I'm a lefty so it took a few months to get from Sweetwater to Tulsa. I's such a great guitar. And the fat neck is to die for! I just wanted to say hello it's been a while. Keep up the good work my Brother. Till next time...

    I see what you mean about the pickups - they are amazing ! None of the scratchy wooliness you usually get at that price range. As a died in the wool Tele fan any Tele is a good Tele if it can be bought at the right price. Like you I prefer skinny necks but as I am looking for my next Tele I will take whatever comes (apart from Harley B's which are just an odd shape). I like it when you play without a whammy bar - it changes your playing style and adds another dimension to what is always excellent.

    As a "late beginner" i tried a few guitars. I do have a 2010 squier bullet strat, thin neck but i did try one of the HB TE-40 with a "fatter neck" and i like it. I think i may try this one, i like slightly thicker-/wider necks.

    Nice one! Your video about the G4M Strat got my interest; so, just for kicks, I got the DIY SG Kit. There are issues with it (neckpocket too small, wonky routing here and there), but it's promising. Wish me luck (and skill). I am also interested in the Seattle Bass. Thanks for sharing, lovely playing and great sound! By the way, any gigs in Germany, preferably Hamburg, possible?

    I like the crazy transition from the driving surf chords to the quasi Spaghetti Western interlude 🤠. The guitar looks deformed on the upper right side. I’m not crazy about new guitars 🎸 that are ‘reliced’. It’s ok if an old 😮 guitar has been knocked around. The headstock on that guitar would improve the ugly one on the Fender Telecaster. It sounds 🎵 fabulous! 👍☮️🌞🎸❤️

  • @psyched0ut

    Got the guitar, Sharp fret edges, fretboard had some patches of what looked like mould. The black tape around the bridge pickup was loose and sticking out. In there also laid half a steel bracket and a steel twirl (rest from drilling in metal) I had to remove bridge to get rid of these items. Eager as I was I scraped and sanded the neck and removed the logo. Since then Ive tried the guitar on a Yamaha THRii and a Boss Katana and there is no sound whatsoever when I plug it in. Sent it back, 7 weeks later still no money or guitar.

    This is my message that I sent you on Instagram 😀
    Hi Dave. I'm a big admirer of your playing and have watched a lot....a lot of your videos on youtube.
    I thought I'd message you with a question as I feel it may get lost on the CZcams platform.
    You did a review a couple of years ago on the Harley Benton tube 15.
    I was wondering how you rate it now after the 2 years that you've had it?
    Do you still ever use it?
    I'd also like to know how the clean tones are?
    Do you consider it to be a good 'base' for pedals?
    There's quite a few reviews about the amp online, but I very much rate your knowledge and thus I'd appreciate your opinion.
    I would also like to know if you have changed anything on this amp, like maybe other valves or speaker?
    Thanks in advance, Roger.

    • @thedavesimpson
      @thedavesimpson  Před rokem +1

      @Dave Simpson okay, thanks for your reply. The Boss katana isn't really comparable is it though being a transistor amp?

    • @jsnowdendavies
      @jsnowdendavies Před rokem +1

      @@junglist1 what's to compare?

    • @junglist1
      @junglist1 Před rokem +1

      @jsnowdendavies not a lot, that was my point.
      But still, I did some homework about the Boss Katana. Nice amp with a huge following and some nice sounds/good amp modeling.
      But I was wanting a 'simple' tube amp.
      I had a Line 6 modeling amp before and I've got a Vox vt30+. I couldn't and can't get the sound I like.
      So I figured buy a tube amp and invest in a couple of pedals. I guess the 'mojo' of a tube amp speaks to me also.

    • @jsnowdendavies
      @jsnowdendavies Před rokem +1

      @@junglist1 aha, I understand now. Have you considered the Laney LC15 (or the LC15R which has reverb)? I have one - really simple valve combo (I'm a Brit :)) with impeccabile heritage. Looks nice and sounds GREAT and can be found second-hand for reasonable costs and often in good nick. Loud and bright. Also has a speaker out for feeding a bigger cab. I've not tried any of the cheaper valve/tube combos out there but the Laney has a nice balance between pedigree/reliability/mojo vs the silly prices that F*nd*r or M*rsh*lls go for and I've not felt the need for any upgrades like speaker or tubes or anything. It just sounds so nice in the first place, clean or dirty with any of my guitars.
