Not you Kabir but what I find a funny juxtaposition is that most European and UK reactors are really bothered by guns and rifles then say shoot the tires or some type miraculous shot. That would be so incredibly dangerous. Not to mention the helicopter pilot that is narrating the chase is a local news station pilot. In Los Angeles, the news stations have helicopters out there in case a chase happens. KCBS, KABC and KNBC. I don’t know the fox station. They air those live, I’ve seen many a great chases. I joke with love, I frequently watch your channel.

I could be wrong, but I think typically the police don't want to use the spikes or shoot out a tire and they try for the PIT maneuver (precision immobilization technique) the idea being one officer will ram the suspect on the back end of the car which will cause them to do a donut. The other cops will then come in with their cars and trap the suspect on all sides.

Once they stole the car that is grand theft auto, and a felony. When you run from the police, that is felony evasion, and a 2nd felony count. This is all tacked onto their original felony, so that is at least 3 separate felony counts.

After multiple failed attempts to intercept him, he finally grazed a patrol car just enough that the car slowed down and he ran like a madman on foot into an apartment complex. They found him after about ten minutes. It’s a miracle he didn’t crash into anybody.

I find it fascinating that locales are known by what they show. California, especially LA, loves to cut into programming to show car chases. Sometimes, it'll even be pre-empted nationally, not just in California - the whole country can watch these people. I want to say it's similar to "Florida Man." Yeah, there are some nuts in Florida, but as a state, they decided to post every arrest online. So it's pretty easy to scan the arrest records for some oddball doing oddball things and add "Florida Man" to it. Maybe there's a similar number of chases and odd arrests in other states and cities, but those are known for their chases or oddballs because the media is easy to find for it.
I live in a suburb of a fairly large city. The county jail, where they keep the police helicopters, is not too far from our neighborhood. It can be terrifying to see search lights and hear a low-flying helicopter, because you know they're looking for someone. One thing I learned in a Citizen Police Academy is that at night especially, they'll put the spotlight somewhere but have the heat radar on the real location, so the baddie thinks they're looking elsewhere. Maybe that's just my area, but clever, nonetheless.

A SNIPER???? in heavy populated areas? that has horrible idea written all over it, letting loose of a copper jacked piece of lead at 2,000 MPH at a moving target made of STEEL, at a wheel, that is spinning and moving, once it contacts the vehicle, NO MATTER WHERE, ALL control of that little piece of lead is gone from that instant on, letting a bullet loose BEFORE the vehicle is stopped is ALWAYS a very bad idea, and should only be done if no other choice is given. I can not tell you WHY they had just stolen that vehicle, but that is called Grand Theft Auto, and is in fact a CRIME, a felony that in the state of California punishable by as little as 3 years (FIRST OFFENSE) to 15 years (5th OFFENSE) adding onto that IF they did have a firearm on them, It would turn into ARMED Grand Theft Auto, and adding evading police officers, wreckless endangerment, fleeing the scene of a crime, then add every red light they ran through, if this was in fact their first offense, and they were armed, they MIGHT be able to breathe free air in about 25 years or so. without a firearm, they might be able to breathe that free air in 12 to 15 years.

The i always recall was an i famous one they were covering on CNN. They went on a 5 second delay in case something "unfortunate" happened and they could cut it off, after several minutes, the suspect ran out of the car into a field, pulled out a gun and shot himself. Unfortunately the control room failed to cut off the footage in time and it aired on live TV. They cut to a commerical and came back to host Sheppard Smith apologizing for that airing and insisted it wouldnt happen again on his watch. The family of the suspect sued for that. Apparently his kids were watching and were traumatized by it.
