  • On this episode I discuss my thoughts on the second book of the Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, The Last Command! "The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor's secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack against the empire, while Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins. Overwhelmed by the ships and clones at Thrawn's command, the Republic has one last hope--sending a small force, led by Luke Skywalker, into the very stronghold that houses Thrawn's terrible cloning machines. There a final danger awaits, as the Dark Jedi C'baoth directs the battle against the Rebels and builds his strength to finish what he had already started: the destruction of Luke Skywalker."

I've never read the star wars books. I don't know if I will but your reviews have certainly increased the chances. A couple quick recommends of good book series that I haven't seen get much coverage on booktube would be; The Red Knight series by Miles Cameron, Garrett P.I. series by Glen Cook, The Miles books from the Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold. And I'd love to see some litrpg, He who fights with monsters and Dungeon Crawler Carl are both awesome with great Audiobooks.

Just like most books, they aren't for everyone, but if you enjoy Star Wars (especially the original trilogy) I definitely think you will get some enjoyment from this trilogy.
The Red Knight Series seems really interesting! Garrett P.I. I do have on my TBR. I haven't even heard of the Vorkosigan Saga, so that is automatically a great recommendation! I am craving some litrpg myself, I just need to track some down. Thanks for the comment Aaron!

@@DiggerdanReads Vorkosigan Saga is really unique and a lot of fun. Hard to compare to anything. A little like a teenage Ender Wiggin meets Locke Lamora. Bujold is a great writer, she's very creative and funny too, a great palate cleanser. If you do get around to it, I would recommend starting with the Young Miles omnibus ("The Warrior's Apprentice" specifically) . Its not the first in publication or internal chronological order but Miles is her muse and I can't imagine not starting with him as the main character.
