- 'Gentleman Jack Nation' is a celebration of the community that was inspired by the show created by BAFTA winning writer Sally Wainwright - Gentleman Jack. The show tells the story of Anne Lister - business woman, entrepreneur, diarist, lesbian, and now Halifax's most celebrated figure.
So many lives have been transformed because of the show, not least those of the people who have forged lifelong friendships across the globe with people who are in their lives because of a shared love of Gentleman Jack and Anne Lister.
This film is a testament to the power that Gentleman Jack had - and continues to have, on the people who watched it.Please like, share, and comment to show your support for Gentleman Jack and the wonderful team responsible for bringing it to our screens, as well as the work done by Helena Whitbread, Jill Liddington, Anne Choma and many others that brought Anne Lister back into our world.

I am a straight woman and I absolutely LOVED Gentleman Jack!. It was so well written, the costumes were stunning, the acting amazing on everyone's part. I couldn't get enough of this amazing woman's story I learned about after seeing the show and reading about her. Why on earth would such an an well done program be cancelled!! I am from the US and read some things saying the audience from the US was not happy about the second season. I don't know if that was right, but I totally disagree with that thought. I would love to see the show put back on air and continue with this intriguing, funny, and facinating true story!! I was shocked and saddened by it's ending this way. They have to put it back on!!!!
God bless Anne Lister and Ann Walker, I so hope they can feel the love ❤️ and can see the wonderful community that they have inspired. May they be resting in eternal peace together 🎩👒

I stumbled onto the GJ series by accident. I couldn't believe that my life's story was on screen. Gemma, this documentary beautifully recaps the tip of the iceberg of the GJ effect. Well done Gemma! May your efforts be heard by someone with enough money and connections to bring on GJ series 3+. With the present political climate, the series GJ is sorely needed now. Keep up the great work.
