What a lifesaver. They did a HORRIBLE job with the instruction manual. This was my first instant pot and I had no idea what I was doing. Your video did such a great job explaining this to me.
You are a great teacher. You took the viewer through every step and explained it so a person starting out for the first time could really understand the process.
Lol! Thats why I’m here! I got this model this past Christmas and had no idea what the red ring was for other than maybe a extra one. Well I guess was right! Just wanted to use caution when using anything to do with a pressure cooker!
The red ring is actually an added ring for cooking red sauces like chili and pasta sauces so the flavors don't transfer to other dishes . Silicone will hold onto flavors and smells especially red sauces ! Use the clear for chicken dishes and dishes that you won't use allot of spices like chili and tomato based sauces . And use the red ring for your red based sauces. . that's what my instructions told me .

Wow! Just wow! I am a 58 y/o intelligent woman. I have used pressure cookers for 30 years. I'm detail oriented and am a firm believer in READING the instructions! My b'day was in mid November and my mom and sister went in together to get me an Instant Pot, this model in fact. They even bought me a chicken to cook in it! I spent 3 HOURS coming through their booklets. It might as well have been in a foreign language! And yet... in just 13 MINUTES and 15 seconds... made it all fall into place! The "instruction book" was just about the worst that I've EVER seen! THANK YOU SO MUCH! They were beginning to think that I didn't want it! You REALLY did an AWESOME job! And I agree the the comment on down, I could have ABSOLUTELY used you in high school as my Geometry teacher! You my dear are a gem! Thank you!

I researched and found that this model was great for beginners, or for those who are afraid of pressure cooking (me!!!!) lol. So this is the one I'm getting, only in the 8 qt!! I looked at the Duo Nova in Macys and I fell in love with the Duo Evo Plus due to its 48 programs and induction capable inner pot. I also fell in love with the Max. I do so much cooking in IP because it’s a one pot meal and you can make pretty much all your mains and dessert in it.

Probably 60+ years ago my mom had a pressure cooker and to this day I remember her running the pot to our small bathroom where it literally exploded! The bathroom was destroyed like a bomb went off. She’s 96+ and I asked her today about it and she said 63 years later she remembers it all. Why I’m so happy I found you, I really wanted an Instant Pot but it’s still on my counter for over a week because of fear. I’m not afraid anymore and I’ll keep you posted! I’m definitely going to use it by Sunday. We can laugh about it now, I was 4. My dad did not see any humor in it whatsoever.
I took the silicon cap off and I cooked, which made a disaster and I spent several days trying to figure it out, and I was close to returning the pot, so thank you for adding that detail.

Probably 60+ years ago my mom had a pressure cooker and to this day I remember her running the pot to our small bathroom where it literally exploded! The bathroom was destroyed like a bomb went off. She’s 96+ and I asked her today about it and she said 63 years later she remembers it all. Why I’m so happy I found you, I really wanted an Instant Pot but it’s still on my counter for over a week because of fear. I’m not afraid anymore and I’ll keep you posted! I’m definitely going to use it by Sunday. We can laugh about it now, I was 4. My dad did not see any humor in it whatsoever.

You are an excellent teacher with outstanding communication skills!!! I'm so enjoying my Duo Nova Pot, but forgot something so simple...how to add correct time (hours and minutes vs minutes and seconds) and yet I do need a timer for the suggested cool down time. SO grateful!!!
