Just a hint on thickening stock for gravy. Don't add flour to hot liquid. Mix the flour with cold water then add to the hot stock while stirring. You'll avoid those flour balls and get smooth thick gravy.
Corn starch works really well for that too.
corn starch and cold water to make a slurry, equal parts of flour and fat to make a roux, flour needs to be cooked or it has a "raw taste"
Thanks for the tip.
Yes hot roux, cold liquid or cold roux, hot liquid = no lumps.
More please!
One thing I've discovered, when cooking meat, let it sit for about 15 min after it's done before releasing the steam. When you do a quick release it tends to suck the moisture out the meat even when there is a lot of liquid.
The Kat I agree. it’s the same principle in allowing the steak to rest after grilling before slicing.
Yes❣More experienced cooks know the value of "resting" meat before slicing. Newbies like myself are leery deviating from recipe instructions, but allowing the IP to sit 10 or so minutes before releasing vent makes a major difference in meat & fowl moistness.
⚠️You just need to factor that in the overall cook time 🕰. When you're cooking other dishes, you want final times to all complement each other.
🦉word to the wise🦉 in addition to resting & actual cook time, IP users need to factor in the time it takes for this brilliant appliance to reach pressure (before it starts cooking). That can vary depending on IP size & contents - taking from 10-20 minutes too.
⭐TIP: to cut down that time, zap your water, broth or stock in microwave for 1 minute before adding to IP. (Or, if I steam veggies, I will instantly reuse the hot water. After removing that steamer basket, I will immediately lower frozen chicken breasts on their rack into this same water.)
Either of those easy steps will greatly reduce the time needed for the initial pressure stage.😉
You are right Kat. I apply the same concept when using my instant pot. Cheers
Thank you, Kat!
To avoid the "gym sock" effect, allow human meat to rest 5 minutes after natural release and then quick release pressure for optimal tenderness
My grandma would say, mix that flour with some cold water and shake it first to make a smooth slurry. Add that slurry to your broth to make the gravy... then no lumps. Thanks for putting this up! I'll definitely make three of these for the girls. Much appreciated.
Thank you for the memory I remember when my grandma would shaking flour and water in a jar 🥰
These look fabulous. I learned a trick recently that has made me very happy. I hate hand pulling chicken with forks and someone showed me that if I just use my hand mixer, it will shred it perfectly in 20 seconds and they were absolutely right!
Love all these! One thing my husband does it makes Bone Broth in the Instant Pot. We store them in mason jars in our fridge and use that as our base for soups or to add them to recipes. Look into it. SOOOO worth it!
My son loves bone broth, what is the cooking time your husband uses? Thx
@@lauriefunke9895 I cook bones for 2 1/2 hrs on the soup/broth button. This button deliberately brings the broth up to a low temp, not boiling, until the end of the cook. You can use it to cook dairy without it curdling.
How long does the bone broth last in the fridge? Also do you store it when hot or worm in a mason jar?
@@lesliea.7174 If properly sealed (it will pop when you open it if sealed correctly) it usually lasts us 3-4 months if we don't use it as fast. We usually have it 3 months the longest
I like your style of doing the video. Very simple and clear instructions. I like it that your voice isn't high-pitched and fast. I would like to try the recipes. Thank you.
We LOVE our Instant Pot! Yay more recipes to try! 😊
Love the risotto! I got my first pressure cookr at 62 and haven’t looked back!
Someone may have told you this by now but there is no need to slice the onion horizontally. It is already sectioned naturally and it is an easy way to cut yourself. Try just slicing it downward onto your cutting board and you will never go back to slicing horizontally (toward yourself or the air). It works fine, is safer and teaches others to do it safely too! 😃
Also it's 100 times easier if you don't cut the root end off. Let the root hold the thing together. :) #onioncuttingtips
These are great meal ideas....quick and easy!! I am here for it. Keep em coming. 👍🏾💕💕💕
These are the best Instant Pot recipes I have found! Thanks! I can’t wait to try them and see more of what you will be cooking!
I just got an Instant pot for Christmas, so I really appreciated the recipes, thank you.

These were wonderful, I'm subscribing! Keep bringing us more Instapot recipes. They look fantastic! Can't wait to try them.

We've started using a 4 qt. instant pot the last 6 months or so, been enjoying it, thanks for your recipes we printed a couple of them to try!
So good when you have something that makes cooking life easier!
Thanks for sharing! I like adding my flour to some cold water and whisking that together first before adding it to the hot beef broth, that way it doesn't clump up on you, just a tip!
Thanks for all the recipes! They all look soooo good and I want to try them all!! Please make more of these videos
I just got one for Mother’s Day and I am a little unsure of using it. Thank you for these recipes!
I loved this video. You do an awesome job having the camera in the right place at the right time. Talking after filming works great too. Awesome Editing Job! A pleasure to watch.
Comprehend her instructions very well
One of the best instant pot recipe videos I’ve seen! Thank you:)
Tishanna Lenoir I know I’m currently trying to decide if I want an instant pot or just a slow cooker but the instant recipes I’ve seen haven’t looked nearly as good as the slow cooker recipes until I watched this video. Everything looks delicious and cooked well.
Chicken tortilla soup has always been a favorite and has a special place in my heart, my mom used to make it and now I make it for my children. We love to add a little frozen red chiles, they're already ground up and peeled so they go perfectly! Adds a deeper flavor if youd like to try it sometime. Thanks for these recipes! Cant wait to try it out!
Thanks for this. I'm European and there are so many instant pot recipes using products that are hard to find here. But these recipes used just stuff I can easily find and looked really good.
Omg Everything looks so good and delicious lol I don’t have a instant pot but definitely need to get one and try these great recipes. Thanks for sharing 😉😍
I love my instant pot, it was one of my favorite gifts I have received. These look super yummy 😋
OMG! Seriously thank u so much for sharing. These look so ez and delicious. I cant wait to try them!
i've been playing around with sous vide cooking, but i've noticed quite a few instant pot channels and it seems the pot has a hard core loyal following. so... maybe i'll have to get one and try it. thank you so much for this video! i really enjoyed it!!
These sound so delicious!!! I might have to invest in one of these. Thanks for the simple recipes!!
I made your chicken tortilla soup for dinner tonight. It was the most incredible soup I’ve ever had 👏
Yes. More recipes like this one. Yummy looking! 💕

Everything looks so yummy can’t wait to try these recipes thank you 😊
the fun house you’re so welcome! Hope you love them! 🥰
They all look yummy, particularly the pot roast. OMG! I'm salivating.
Love your videos. Quick tip that I learned somewhat recently. The top of the pot actually can sit inside the handles of the Instant Pot if that makes sense. 😊
I was not on the instant pot train but I think I am now! Please do another video like this ☺️
I've lived over 50 years without a pressure cooker. Now I want one. Great recipes thank you!
Im on "over" 50 (👍 lol )and I love mine. I was intimidated with it at first but now I love using it.
Buy one one, you will not regret it! I am a senior and can say it is so much easier than a regular pressure cooker.
Annee I’m 72, bought one yesterday and nervous to use it. Been watching a lot of videos. Thought I would try rice pudding first.
I bought mine right before Christmas last year. I am so used to cooking the regular way that getting used to cooking in the instant pot it’s being more difficult than I thought it would be but I keep trying because cooking 3 or more meals at day it’s tiring and time consuming for sure.
SO excited to try the risotto. We are obsessed with the instant pot but are always looking for more sides to do in there. My toddler is going to love this and get so many different veggies in one dish!
All the meals look so good, but you had me at that delicious looking pot roast. WOW!!!! Definitely trying this. Thanks for posting.
I was so intimidated by the instant pot until your video! Thanks for sharing! Everything came out amazing! 💜
Nutmegs Nest I was too til I just gave it a go. Now I’m obsessed! It’s actually really easy and most recipes tell you which settings to use
First video I watched from you and wow! Impressed! Lol can’t wait to make these
totally want to see more Instant Pot videos, I've had one for awhile but hadn't really used it yet. Totally trying some of these recipes.
I just got a insta- pot and your recipes are so very helpful to me. I’m 71 and trying to learn so you are a great blessing to me. Thank you so much.
To avoid clumping when making the gravy for your pot roast put the pot on saute, mix 2 tbsp of flour and 2 tbsp of butter in the pot then add the sauce back in.
Love your recipes and cant wait to try them all.
That or mix flour with some cold water before adding it to the broth.
Yours works even better, but the cold-water-stirr is quicker.
Love this! I use my instant pot all the time.
Hannah Bentson isn’t it the best thing ever? 😍
Wow! Every dish looked so good!!! 😋 I need one of these!!! Thanks for sharing!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Ooh! I can’t wait to try all of these! Thank you!
Great videos and recipes, just a note that when you take the lid of the IP instead of putting it down on a counter top it has been made to fit into the handles (either side), then the juices will run back into the pot and saves up on cleaning the countertops too. Thanks for sharing.
L
Love! You just convinced me I need an instant pot 😍 Thank you
LuxeStyleDecor Jessy seriously, game changing!
Your video is so easy to follow. I live alone, so I bought the smaller 3QT size. Most IP recipes I use only half the ingredients and cut the time by a quarter. I love my IP! I usually have enough for 2 meals.
This is the most realistic and best video of recipes I actually can go out and buy everything to make. Thank you!
I recently learned to use a hand mixer to shred chicken in the instant pot.....life changing!!
Same here. What a difference!
This is cool, I will try every single one of these on my instapot, thanks for sharing. Just a little tip, I know it is a matter of preference, but try to add little butter. It's healthier.
I loved your recipes; cannot wait for your next videos.
Thanks, Lou
So far I have made the risotto and the chicken tortilla soup and they were delish! Thank you for the recipes!!
I'm considering purchasing an Instant Pot and these simple recipes have persuaded me. Thank you!
i got mine yesterday! Walmart has got them for $59 (retail price $ 124)
@@j.j.5731 that's an awesome deal!
Some of the best instapot recipes on youtube. Well done.
Thanks for the wonderful recipes. I am new to the Insta-Pot. I've used it once for cooking frozen chicken and it worked great! Now I can't wait to try out some more recipes!
OMG these recipes are making my mouth water!!! So good!
I see many new weekend dinners in my horizon! loll Thank you for these recipes!
Thank you. Mine has been sitting for I don’t know how long.
Your video was great!, thanks for sharing. I have a pot, but afraid to use it, you convinced me to try it. I like how you show the pressure release, i was always scared i was doing it wrong. thanks again for your time
Thanks for these recipes! I just got an Instant Pot and I'm already obsessed!!
Ashley McClain isnt it the best thing? 😍
Thank you for these recipes!! I cant wait to try :)
Tavares Takeover have fun! 💕
I just found your channel and love your vibe!!! Instant pot video was incredible! Thanks for helping me plan next weeks meals!!! :))
Thank you for sharing your recipes, I will definitely make your tortilla soup! Things I must have in my kitchen, Instant pot, Breville smart oven, food processor and most importantly my Shun Hiro chef's knife.
thank you..so quick and easy to follow!! Just got mine for Christmas and can't wait to try!
OMG...I just did the risotto and this is almost unbelievable. I am hooked.
I had leftovers and ate the risotto for lunch. :)
Yes please make more videos like this!!!
Made the chicken alfredo tonight, it was really good! I added a couple cups of frozen peas before I stirred in the parmesan, made it even better. I also let it slow release for 10minutes instead of a quick release. Gave the chicken time to rest & didn't make a mess 😃
I just made the risotto and it is so delicious!! Thank you for a home run recepie!
Love these simple recipes!
Love these recipes, and love my Instant Pot! If you have a stand mixer, it will make your life easier shredding chicken with the flat attachment. And you probably know this, but the slots on the IP handles are meant to hold the lid ☺️ I would probably naturally release the pressure for the chicken Alfredo, unless it would overcook it.
Yes make more of these videos! I will make all five of your recipes for my family!
Everything looked so yummy. Yes, more recipes please!
I had seriously given up on my instant pot. This video makes me want to cook all of those things now.
🛂 Proceed w/caution. It's easy to become addicted to your IP once you get used to it. 😁
⏳Our electric stovetop takes forever to heat up. Between our 3 qt IP & brilliant induction cook-pad, we hadn't used it to cook for well over a year.
🍚 The range came w/a double oven too. In 7 yrs, we never needed to use the large oven. The lower oven stows heavy cast iron pots that we use mostly for baking.
🔥The stovetop has become a staging area for hot dishes as well as workspace for using small appliances like IP, sous vide, slow cooker, rice cooker, waffle maker, etc. It even works well for standing mixer, esp. when making pasta. (BONUS: It's a totally flat surface that can take high heat. Plus, the dial controls are safely in the back, so there has been no danger of turning a burner on by accident.)
🍲We make multiple courses w/1 IP for a single meal, but it can be a logistical nightmare having to plan who got to use it first. Plus, a pain to wash between recipes. We thought about getting a replacement insert pot to make that easier, but in the end elected to go for a 6 qt IP. Although only two ppl, we love big batch cooking & leftovers.
With the slow cooker feature on the new Smart model, we finally decided to donate our beloved vintage 70s hand-me-down. It was a workhorse that seemed to cook better than many newer appliances we had bought, but it was not sad to see the brown crock & ugly mushroom design go. We kept our rice cooker bcos it's still in regular rotation.
Looks delicious! I love my instapot!
I just bought the instapot duo crisp and am addicted, ty for sharing these recipes. Would love to see more!
Wow, I can’t wait to try these recipes! I just ordered my instant pot and was searching for recipes that are actually edible and with flavor. You’re probably one of the few people with recipes that look flavorful and super simple to do for a busy working mom, like myself. Thank You!!
Chasity Navarro I just got myself one for black friday in hopes of cooking at home more cause we are sick of eating out 😂 im out here looking at recipes cause i don’t know how to cook im hoping this saves me
Chasity There are a ton of great instant pot recipes out there. If you aren't finding them, change up the way you are searching.
That all looks so good! I have an instant pot and have never used it. Now I am!
robin p yes! Try it at least once. I’m pretty sure you’ll be hooked!
Mine sat in the box for months before I got the nerve to use it. Love it.
Im awful at cooking but I got an instant pot. So far I've made chilli and turkey burrito bowl. I will try that soup and would LOVE to try the pot roast but a bit complicated for me lol
It's really much easier than it seems! You don't have to sear the meat first, you can just dump everything, set it to 60 min and go :)
Wanna make all of them. They look easy and yummy! More of these please!
Girl! those recipes where awesome! Thanks!
Allie, Use a dish towel to cover the release. This will keep the steam from coming up on you or your cabinets. Thank you so much for your great recipes.
Is da ver to cover, the steam
You shouldn’t do this it voids the warranty
her reaction to the Alfredo spewing out was hilarious lol it went from concern to laughter
Yes❣ Great that she uses a spoon to vent too. I use a pair of ✂️ (that rest on a magnet rack next to IP) to shift vent to open. I also double up a paper towel to safely redirect the steam a bit. (Not a smart idea for steam stream to be directed toward spice jars that can become moldy w/close exposure.👎) 🦉word to the wise🦉 Dishes like pasta can produce a frothy steam. Let a bit of it escape before turning on full vent or a starchy wet stream can leak out. If that happens, be ready to soak it up w/a bunch of paper towels (or tea towel) before it goes all over the place. It is🌡hot, so maybe use tongs to hold towel to dab moisture as it erupts to limit the mess. It's a pain to clean up, but a mixture of white vinegar & water will remove any starchy residue from exterior of machine or counter.😁
One of the best insta pot videos I've seen so far... can't wait to try these recipes!
Wow! Everything looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!
