I'm a GT player. But I quite like the look of Forza Motorsport 7 in this. When the rain has stopped falling in the latter part of the video (without rain drops on the UI), it looks pretty good.
My issue with the FM and Horizon games now is that they really ditched what made the 360 games fun for just looking better, not realizing that it's more than just "looking" better, but how realistic it feels. It's one thing to look good, but it's another to be believeable
I find it funny how when it's raining, fm7 looks like there's variation in the "wetness" on the track. On fm8 it just looks like they went and just made the entire track a singular wetness level that's equal in intensity everywhere lmfao
FM7 had to drop rain tracks and replace them with just foggy tracks because people complained too much about racing in the rain because of the variable puddling. I think T10 tried striking a middle ground this time around by keeping rain but making the track be consistent all around. They compromised for the casuals.
Forza needs to stop using the fucking reverbed sounding engine notes. It just sounds so fake. Were they seriously not able to record the sound of these cars in real life? Sure, they showed us them doing that in a dedicated video, but it proved nothing. It only showed that THOSE cars had the authentic sounds.

I’m an Xbox player and after I downloaded this built from ground up game via gamepass i deleted it after one race. I now play Crew Motorfest and Forza 7. I really would like to try GT7 especially on VR.
I just recently got vr amd have been playing GT7. It is absolutely insane and pretty much indescribable just how immersive it is. That said if you are vulnerable to vr sickness it can make you feel ill. It has taken me a few weeks to get use to it. Playing 1 hour a day at the max seems to be the key to getting past vr sickness. I wish xb could have done vr as well. I would have loved flightsim in vr.
Watching wet races on REAL TRACKS you notice immediately they arent a giant mirror. Black tarmac sucks up water and it pools on low areas. FM7 nailed it, GT7 nailed it. FM8 just tossed out what worked great in lue of two giant fire hoses behind your wheels and a lazy mirror track with uniform grip. The other games have it dry where the cars drive in real time. Once again, lacking in FM8. In FM7 and GT7 the wet spots seriously cause major hydroplaning. The new one is just a visual vomit, that isnt even based on reality. Not just a bad change, its a gimmick. Much like half of the game. Its a lazy reskin with a better tire model at the sacrifice of half of what worked GREAT.
The argument about GT being out longer as the reason for it having a leg up on FM23 is asinine. GT7 at release looked better still. GT7 on PS4 looks better still. GT SPORT looked better still. AND PD hasn't released any graphics patches since release. The biggest changes (and most valid critiques) to GT7 have only involved content and the monetization structure. Oh and actual next gen changes such as Sophy AI and VR support.
You are right! The overall mood is much more realistic in FM7, new FM does some things better like foggy weather and sunrays going through the trees but that's all. By the way are you irish? :)
Even before your videos, I stopped playing Forza Motorsport. For me, it was a massive disappointment from day one. I agree that graphics are important, and even Forza Motorsport 7 looks better. I'm now considering buying a PS5, even though I have no idea how to use that controller. As a car person, I appreciate every detail put into making each car. When a game claims to be the most accurate and advanced representation of a real car but falls short, like the latest Forza title, I don't enjoy it anymore. With every new Forza title in the past, I spent hours in Forzavista, examining every car inside, outside, and in the engine bay. Looking at the latest Forza, it's disappointing for a next-gen title in 2023. When you compared it to GT7, that blew my mind. The most amazing thing I see there is how realistic the materials and lights look, the shaders, the paint, the track details, and the intricate details you only see if you look in every gap. They've done that so well and added VR. I had VR in the past, making me a bit ill, so I sold it. Now, looking at it, you can see all the details in one-to-one scale. According to reviews and feedback, the quality is good enough. I'm not only considering buying a PS5 but also the VR2, just so I can sit in the garage or any amazing location and look at cars on days I don't want to drive. Your language could be a bit less rough; when you keep swearing, I tend to turn off the sound and enjoy the footage. But that doesn't mean I don't agree with what you're saying. I would give Forza back and get my 90 quid back in a heartbeat, and that money would go towards something worth it. Keep your videos coming. Don't get too angry about Forza fans; it's never an obvious win, there are always two sides. I bet at least 10-15% of people watching your videos change their minds about Forza, consider GT7, and maybe, like me, stop playing and look to buy a PS5 instead. It's a dream at the moment; I used to simrace in leagues on iRacing and Assetto Corsa but eventually sold all my gear. First of all, thank you for the feedback regarding the swearing. I kind of add it in for a less, let's say, CZcams scripted style of video, I just rant for banter, as most enjoy it. But, I also know it's not enjoyable for people like yourself. So, I will pipe down a bit more, mate. Sorry about that. Yes, the new FM was a kick to the balls in my opinion, and it was disgusting how they tricked us into buying it! Hence the extra swearing to add to my frustration, but it's just kind of acting out my gamer rage instead of my professional approach, haha. ACC or iRacing in VR if you have played on the PC VR are poorly optimized and have this strange hologrammy look. PC3 did not do a bad job, nor did AM2, but I promise you this, you will not regret buying a PS5 if you have a passion and love for cars like me. It's literally a dream game, I 100% swear. I'm a PC guy too, and nothing on PC comes close to GT7 with the graphics and car details. Not just that, the way the game is built around history, everything is just built with the love of cars and motorsport. It will blow your mind. The VR experience is the best in class also. I have over 400+ VR games and not one of them has blown my mind like GT7 has. PSVR2 is a must if you are in a position you can treat yourself. I can sit in the garage for hours just checking out cars, or even mod the cars then go back in to check them out again. I have never seen anything like it. Not only that, you have a whole social media community inside GT7, sharing photos non-stop, sharing vinyls, replays, decals, everything, and it's very active. It's like having your own Twitter inside the game. So, when you can't be bothered to drive, you will 100% sit in the garage viewing the cars. You will then browse some designs and photos, and the photos will make you want that car. Then you have to work for the car. The game makes you work for the cars, so you have to choose them with your heart because you know you can only afford one. This adds the collector's effect to the game, it's a digital dream for car enthusiasts, mate. I bet my life on it! As for the racing wheels, I have the TG-T 2, not the DD Pro. I did not like the DD Pro and wanted the same wheel as the pros used at the time, that was the TG-T 2, so that made my choice easy. But now, I think they are using the DD Pro, so either wheel is good. The TG-T2 feels better for me, but I think the DD Pro is more future-proof and advanced with it having DD. But the TG-T2 is so well built into GT, it feels so good. So the only two wheels you want to consider are the TG-T 2 or the DD Pro. I may be biased when it comes to picking the TG-T2 over the DD Pro as I had the first TG-T and I loved it and got so used to it, so I couldn't give you the correct answer. Sadly, you will not find it online too as these wheels carry the same fanboy crap with them so it's hard. You won't regret getting a ps5 & GT7. Ps5 has better exclusives in general but gt7 is wonderful if you're into cars. I gave up on the new Forza after about a month, GT7 I keep going back to and I had ps4 version since launch, then moved to ps5 about a year ago. I spend hours just painting cars, putting parts on them, then taking pics in scapes or race replays, you can lose yourself for hours. New Forza is completely lacking any personality or pull if you are into cars.

I check out used cars, check out the latest pics and vids in the showcase, go through my garage and grab some cars that need to have their rails lowered to the pavement, brakes and exhaust fitted, spend time painting and styling. What other game can make you load it up so often to not even actually play the main part of it, it's crazy but testament to PD's effort and passion. You're right, friend, there are many things that improved in Forza Motorsport 2023 compared to 7, especially in most of the details of the environment, the first-person driving animations and the behavior of the suspension, but there are many more things that were lost with regarding the previous installment, which is truly unacceptable, the theme of the puddles, the reflections on the wet surfaces, that orange color palette, the interaction of light with many of the paintings, the lack of details in most of the cars, it really has me disappointed too, and it's unfortunate because as a Forza fan, I had all my hopes pinned on this game, but you can't even expect decent matchmaking, so much so that what I do to enjoy the game is try to constantly ignore all these details in my head, and I focus on getting a car, improving it, tuning it and trying to be fast with it.
The graphics of the new Forza look very blurry, I don't know how to explain it but almost everything doesn't seem to have a good definition. Will the new Forza be more similar to the previous game during the updates? I honestly hope so
I never playing Forza before and before Forza Motorsport came out i buying Forza 7 to see what is all about Forza(because i always have Playstation). On a first I saw what graphics is that and i was bloowing minded how good is for old game is. When Forza Motorsport came out i can't belived they not delivered better graphics... Forza 7 on raining stage and some scenario is better looking game what is unbeliveable!
Forza Motorsport I realized looks like one of the older games at low settings with ReShade to compensate for the lack of proper shading. Adding SSR to a game with ReShade makes the whole road uniformly reflective or "wet" and many attempts to make an old game look modern with ReShade alone can look janky.
Okay but the weather is dynamic, one wet race can look totally different to another on the same track. The lighting changes with the weather and fog and all the other elements that factor in. So compairing these two videos doesn't make sense, its comparing the best example of one thing to the worst example of another. The track surface could be slightly better but i think thats something they can work on. Ive played plenty of FM7 and its just not as as good a game. GT7 looks good i like lots of things about it. But the car mechanics dont seem as dynamic, maybe thats just my preference.
Is it just me or does there also happen to be a visible framerate difference between the two titles as well? Also, to rub it in even more, maybe try running an older FM game (like 6 or 7) on the Xbox One and see how it fares against the new one.
On PC the framerate for Motorsport 7 was a lot better Motorsport 8’s. I don’t think the framerate difference is worth the graphics or gameplay updates.
FM is such a let down. I got my XBox just for Forza but a month after they stopped supporting FM7 so ive been waiting for years to play. I think im going to get a Playstation

Yeh it's hazy dust sun 90% of the time, only time it looks better is rain or night. GT7 looks primo 100% of the time, to the point that you sometimes blinking at the screen in disbelief that it's not actually real. It would look insane if they had a PC version but it's good enough as is.
3:50 there is no logic in this statement, both games had the same development time, as the predecessors of the games came out at almost the exact time. Polyphony was just faster in getting much better results and so they could release their new game sooner, so this argument of the forza boys is just stupid
I love when people say I would never own a console for just to play xyz game 🙄, like they love saying shit like that about Microsoft and Sony games but you never hear that about Nintendo games, isn't that crazy ? @anti-tryhard It's just recycled and poorly made car models that are 15+ years old for one. So the cars aren't exactly good looking or better than previous games. In some cases, FM5 cars look better than the new FM. As you can see here, rain on the road actually looks realistic. It even forms puddles in FM7 and has dryer areas to drive on. Hitting puddles affect your driving as well. For some reason, the new FM is just wet throughout the entire track. It's the same all over the track. There isn't much to affect your driving in the rain. It's just a filter filled with visual inaccurate flashyness. A gimmick really, just used for marketing reasons. At least in FM7 it catches the darker gloomy look. The new FM always has this warm look when it rains. It's wierd. Maybe it has to do with how washed out the new FM looks overall, and the washed out look has an effect on the screen in the rain. I don't know, but it looks off. The trail of water behind the tires looks ridiculous to me in the new FM. It's not exactly like that. The whole color pallete in the new FM is just washed out. You can read about it on the Forza forums. Nothing looks like it should. Wanna paint your car black? Well here's a dark gray instead. Enjoy. Paint your wheels black? Well how about some silver plastic instead. Only the true players will know of these mistakes in FM. MayhebI should add, people who know what they're looking at and aren't delusional or just riding the dick train yp T10's ass to defend it. But there are a LOT of us who stuck by this series since the first who think it looks bad. A LOT. Funny thing though. No one gets mad or complains about that person when it's mentioned on their forum. Lol. It's treated like a valid reason for feeling that way after false advertising. Lol. Forza Motorsports track looks so much clearer, and to me at that timestamp FM7 is the game that looks washed out if anything. You dont have to be on your toes as much trying to avoid the puddles, and you have to worry less about a less experienced player in front of you hitting one and spinning out and taking you out of the race. That's what I keep saying, I was a forza fan since forza 2. I didn't buy gt5 or 6 because forza was the better game. Forza motorsport sucks and gt7 is just better... For me, ray tracing is the most overrated feature. One of the best looking game (at least for me) don't have it: Red Dead Redemption 2. I can remember another example: Driveclub. The thing is, today, everything is about graphics. The game sucks? That's ok, but it have ray tracing and all of these "bling-bling" bullcrap. If ray tracing is so important, why Forza 7 looks better than Forza 2023? And beside this, is a better game overall? Ray tracing is a diamond that shines really bright to catch your attention so you'll not notice that around it, it's all empty. And people are always running to buy the newest GPU, more RAM, faster CPU's, only because of this feature that doesn't tell if the game is good or not...but looks great! 🤡🤡
I bought the 4090 but not for the raytracing. Better PC=Better quality graphics. For example I play ACC in 3x1440p monitors at 120fps using the best quality options in the graphics settings. In that conditions 4090 is the only one capable of that. So yes, it's important. About RT, as you say, means nothing when you don't make nice and detailed graphics arround it.

Ray tracing is overrated and honestly makes games look flat to me. Like you said, RD2 and Driveclub look amazing and no ray tracing. I can pop in FH2 or 3 and both look absolutely amazing without Ray tracing, and also look better than FH5. FH5...something feels downgraded about the graphics

FH5 imo is full blown regression in terms artistry, physics, vibe, etc. It has no soul. FH4 had a soul I guess, but nothing like 1-3. But FH5 is just laziness. I think there was a lot of hate on the topic of Forza 8 car models, it's true that they reused all the older models, but those models were made with a lot of details and still hold up well. You can try out a 2006 Ford Mustang King Cobra or Volkswagen Golf with interior view and nice modeling in all Forza games. Meanwhile, Gran Turismo imports 800 GT4 vehicles that look like box cars with no interiors and calls it the real driving simulator. All companies make mistakes and lie to us to sell more. I'm not defending Forza. but I think I prefer 1000 cars with modeling and interiors from Xbox 360 than 150 from GT7 (each car takes months to be manufactured in that game it is unnecessary)

Pretty much so. The author often complains about the marketing that was done for FM8 and concentrates more on visuals and graphics hence the reason why he keeps making these videos. The fact that he uses PSVR2 as part of the comparison between GT7 and FM8 which imo is 2 vs 1. Long ago, l learned that marketing doesn't always showcase the true potential of the product so it's best to try it out yourself. I have both FH5 and FM8 so l can choose either place arcade sim style or sim style. I also played Gran Turismo long ago and my personal favorite is the OG Grand Turismo and GT2. Something about the first 2 had the magic that still holds true today. The last GT l played was GT6 and that was really good. Skipped GT Sport due to numerous issues and overwhelmed backlash from the GT fan base. Now, to be fair, when GT 7 was released, it too had it's problems too. When GT7 was previewed it did not include microtransactions which in turn gave high review scores HOWEVER after the game was released microtransactions was then added. The pricing of the cars in the game actually matched the Real life versions causing the player to grind long hours to even attempt to purchase any of them. Even the rewards was changed at one time to cause even more grinding. And just to play single player, you still have to be online. The devs made changes to GT 7 but the reception was damaged because of the early changes was done. As you can see even GT7 had a rocky start as well. In the end, both GT7 and FM8 had rocky starts but eventually both games will get better in time. I still have a PS4 Slim and can play GT7 but that online play even with single player will be bothersome since l don't have PSN+. It's possible for the online mode is for updating car pricing for both new and used cars for GT7 which l can see becoming a pain. As for Forza, if you are more concerned about graphics then play FH5 however if you more into sim style then you can choose either FM7 or FM8. Just stop complaining and enjoy your racing. Nothing is always perfect out the gate these days.

I just recently got vr amd have been playing GT7. It is absolutely insane and pretty much indescribable just how immersive it is. That said if you are vulnerable to vr sickness it can make you feel ill. It has taken me a few weeks to get use to it. Playing 1 hour a day at the max seems to be the key to getting past vr sickness. I wish xb could have done vr as well. I would have loved flightsim in vr.
Motorfest is great compared to Crew 2. FM23 is worst than FM7. Crazy times lol

Watching wet races on REAL TRACKS you notice immediately they arent a giant mirror. Black tarmac sucks up water and it pools on low areas. FM7 nailed it, GT7 nailed it. FM8 just tossed out what worked great in lue of two giant fire hoses behind your wheels and a lazy mirror track with uniform grip. The other games have it dry where the cars drive in real time. Once again, lacking in FM8.
In FM7 and GT7 the wet spots seriously cause major hydroplaning. The new one is just a visual vomit, that isnt even based on reality. Not just a bad change, its a gimmick. Much like half of the game. Its a lazy reskin with a better tire model at the sacrifice of half of what worked GREAT.
The argument about GT being out longer as the reason for it having a leg up on FM23 is asinine. GT7 at release looked better still. GT7 on PS4 looks better still. GT SPORT looked better still. AND PD hasn't released any graphics patches since release. The biggest changes (and most valid critiques) to GT7 have only involved content and the monetization structure. Oh and actual next gen changes such as Sophy AI and VR support.
I also remember the days when a game "being out longer" was the argument for why it looked worse not better...🤡

Even before your videos, I stopped playing Forza Motorsport. For me, it was a massive disappointment from day one. I agree that graphics are important, and even Forza Motorsport 7 looks better. I'm now considering buying a PS5, even though I have no idea how to use that controller. As a car person, I appreciate every detail put into making each car. When a game claims to be the most accurate and advanced representation of a real car but falls short, like the latest Forza title, I don't enjoy it anymore.
With every new Forza title in the past, I spent hours in Forzavista, examining every car inside, outside, and in the engine bay. Looking at the latest Forza, it's disappointing for a next-gen title in 2023. When you compared it to GT7, that blew my mind. The most amazing thing I see there is how realistic the materials and lights look, the shaders, the paint, the track details, and the intricate details you only see if you look in every gap. They've done that so well and added VR. I had VR in the past, making me a bit ill, so I sold it. Now, looking at it, you can see all the details in one-to-one scale. According to reviews and feedback, the quality is good enough. I'm not only considering buying a PS5 but also the VR2, just so I can sit in the garage or any amazing location and look at cars on days I don't want to drive.
Your language could be a bit less rough; when you keep swearing, I tend to turn off the sound and enjoy the footage. But that doesn't mean I don't agree with what you're saying. I would give Forza back and get my 90 quid back in a heartbeat, and that money would go towards something worth it. Keep your videos coming. Don't get too angry about Forza fans; it's never an obvious win, there are always two sides. I bet at least 10-15% of people watching your videos change their minds about Forza, consider GT7, and maybe, like me, stop playing and look to buy a PS5 instead. It's a dream at the moment; I used to simrace in leagues on iRacing and Assetto Corsa but eventually sold all my gear. First of all, thank you for the feedback regarding the swearing. I kind of add it in for a less, let's say, CZcams scripted style of video, I just rant for banter, as most enjoy it. But, I also know it's not enjoyable for people like yourself. So, I will pipe down a bit more, mate. Sorry about that. Yes, the new FM was a kick to the balls in my opinion, and it was disgusting how they tricked us into buying it! Hence the extra swearing to add to my frustration, but it's just kind of acting out my gamer rage instead of my professional approach, haha.
ACC or iRacing in VR if you have played on the PC VR are poorly optimized and have this strange hologrammy look. PC3 did not do a bad job, nor did AM2, but I promise you this, you will not regret buying a PS5 if you have a passion and love for cars like me. It's literally a dream game, I 100% swear. I'm a PC guy too, and nothing on PC comes close to GT7 with the graphics and car details. Not just that, the way the game is built around history, everything is just built with the love of cars and motorsport. It will blow your mind. The VR experience is the best in class also. I have over 400+ VR games and not one of them has blown my mind like GT7 has. PSVR2 is a must if you are in a position you can treat yourself. I can sit in the garage for hours just checking out cars, or even mod the cars then go back in to check them out again. I have never seen anything like it.
Not only that, you have a whole social media community inside GT7, sharing photos non-stop, sharing vinyls, replays, decals, everything, and it's very active. It's like having your own Twitter inside the game. So, when you can't be bothered to drive, you will 100% sit in the garage viewing the cars. You will then browse some designs and photos, and the photos will make you want that car. Then you have to work for the car. The game makes you work for the cars, so you have to choose them with your heart because you know you can only afford one. This adds the collector's effect to the game, it's a digital dream for car enthusiasts, mate. I bet my life on it!
As for the racing wheels, I have the TG-T 2, not the DD Pro. I did not like the DD Pro and wanted the same wheel as the pros used at the time, that was the TG-T 2, so that made my choice easy. But now, I think they are using the DD Pro, so either wheel is good. The TG-T2 feels better for me, but I think the DD Pro is more future-proof and advanced with it having DD. But the TG-T2 is so well built into GT, it feels so good. So the only two wheels you want to consider are the TG-T 2 or the DD Pro. I may be biased when it comes to picking the TG-T2 over the DD Pro as I had the first TG-T and I loved it and got so used to it, so I couldn't give you the correct answer. Sadly, you will not find it online too as these wheels carry the same fanboy crap with them so it's hard.

You won't regret getting a ps5 & GT7. Ps5 has better exclusives in general but gt7 is wonderful if you're into cars.
I gave up on the new Forza after about a month, GT7 I keep going back to and I had ps4 version since launch, then moved to ps5 about a year ago.
I spend hours just painting cars, putting parts on them, then taking pics in scapes or race replays, you can lose yourself for hours. New Forza is completely lacking any personality or pull if you are into cars.

I check out used cars, check out the latest pics and vids in the showcase, go through my garage and grab some cars that need to have their rails lowered to the pavement, brakes and exhaust fitted, spend time painting and styling. What other game can make you load it up so often to not even actually play the main part of it, it's crazy but testament to PD's effort and passion. Such an enormous contrast to the con artist scum bags at Microsoft that couldn't give a shit about us or cars but just want money.

You're right, friend, there are many things that improved in Forza Motorsport 2023 compared to 7, especially in most of the details of the environment, the first-person driving animations and the behavior of the suspension, but there are many more things that were lost with regarding the previous installment, which is truly unacceptable, the theme of the puddles, the reflections on the wet surfaces, that orange color palette, the interaction of light with many of the paintings, the lack of details in most of the cars, it really has me disappointed too, and it's unfortunate because as a Forza fan, I had all my hopes pinned on this game, but you can't even expect decent matchmaking, so much so that what I do to enjoy the game is try to constantly ignore all these details in my head, and I focus on getting a car, improving it, tuning it and trying to be fast with it.

Forza Motorsport I realized looks like one of the older games at low settings with ReShade to compensate for the lack of proper shading. Adding SSR to a game with ReShade makes the whole road uniformly reflective or "wet" and many attempts to make an old game look modern with ReShade alone can look janky.

Okay but the weather is dynamic, one wet race can look totally different to another on the same track. The lighting changes with the weather and fog and all the other elements that factor in. So compairing these two videos doesn't make sense, its comparing the best example of one thing to the worst example of another. The track surface could be slightly better but i think thats something they can work on. Ive played plenty of FM7 and its just not as as good a game. GT7 looks good i like lots of things about it. But the car mechanics dont seem as dynamic, maybe thats just my preference.

On PC the framerate for Motorsport 7 was a lot better Motorsport 8’s. I don’t think the framerate difference is worth the graphics or gameplay updates.

Yeh it's hazy dust sun 90% of the time, only time it looks better is rain or night. GT7 looks primo 100% of the time, to the point that you sometimes blinking at the screen in disbelief that it's not actually real. It would look insane if they had a PC version but it's good enough as is.

@anti-tryhard It's just recycled and poorly made car models that are 15+ years old for one. So the cars aren't exactly good looking or better than previous games. In some cases, FM5 cars look better than the new FM.
As you can see here, rain on the road actually looks realistic. It even forms puddles in FM7 and has dryer areas to drive on. Hitting puddles affect your driving as well.
For some reason, the new FM is just wet throughout the entire track. It's the same all over the track. There isn't much to affect your driving in the rain. It's just a filter filled with visual inaccurate flashyness. A gimmick really, just used for marketing reasons.
At least in FM7 it catches the darker gloomy look. The new FM always has this warm look when it rains. It's wierd. Maybe it has to do with how washed out the new FM looks overall, and the washed out look has an effect on the screen in the rain. I don't know, but it looks off.
The trail of water behind the tires looks ridiculous to me in the new FM. It's not exactly like that.
The whole color pallete in the new FM is just washed out. You can read about it on the Forza forums. Nothing looks like it should. Wanna paint your car black? Well here's a dark gray instead. Enjoy. Paint your wheels black? Well how about some silver plastic instead.
Only the true players will know of these mistakes in FM. MayhebI should add, people who know what they're looking at and aren't delusional or just riding the dick train yp T10's ass to defend it. But there are a LOT of us who stuck by this series since the first who think it looks bad. A LOT.

You say the new Motorsport looks washed out, but look at the comparison at 2:05. Forza Motorsports track looks so much clearer, and to me at that timestamp FM7 is the game that looks washed out if anything.
Sure, there might be no puddles, but this could totally be meant for cleaner racing in the rain. You dont have to be on your toes as much trying to avoid the puddles, and you have to worry less about a less experienced player in front of you hitting one and spinning out and taking you out of the race. The most realistic option isn't always the best option.

That's what I keep saying, I was a forza fan since forza 2. I didn't buy gt5 or 6 because forza was the better game. Forza motorsport sucks and gt7 is just better... FACT. its not about being a fan boy it's about playing good games and the new forza is not good. GT7 is fantastic this time round and forza isn't. Even forza horizon 5 was a way better game than motorsport. The ms fan boys can project all they want about everyone being biased but the facts are the facts, forza sucked, starfield was mid at best, halo was garbage, there has been nothing good on xb since the 360 days. For me, ray tracing is the most overrated feature. One of the best looking game (at least for me) don't have it: Red Dead Redemption 2. I can remember another example: Driveclub.
The thing is, today, everything is about graphics. The game sucks? That's ok, but it have ray tracing and all of these "bling-bling" bullcrap. If ray tracing is so important, why Forza 7 looks better than Forza 2023? And beside this, is a better game overall?

I bought the 4090 but not for the raytracing. Better PC=Better quality graphics. For example I play ACC in 3x1440p monitors at 120fps using the best quality options in the graphics settings. In that conditions 4090 is the only one capable of that. So yes, it's important.
About RT, as you say, means nothing when you don't make nice and detailed graphics arround it.

I'm criticizing the industry that is creating a necessity, the need, with a resource that is ok, but it isin't a game changer or anything. Most of the people today judge a good game first by graphics. So, nice graphics is good? Yes. But graphics doesn't change a bad game into a good one and vice versa.
Ray tracing is overrated and honestly makes games look flat to me. Like you said, RD2 and Driveclub look amazing and no ray tracing. I can pop in FH2 or 3 and both look absolutely amazing without Ray tracing, and also look better than FH5. FH5...something feels downgraded about the graphics

And I honestly was amazed how good those were. FH4 will always hold a special place in my heart because it was my first, but FH2 and FH3 are the GOATs.

I think there was a lot of hate on the topic of Forza 8 car models, it's true that they reused all the older models, but those models were made with a lot of details and still hold up well. You can try out a 2006 Ford Mustang King Cobra or Volkswagen Golf with interior view and nice modeling in all Forza games. Meanwhile, Gran Turismo imports 800 GT4 vehicles that look like box cars with no interiors and calls it the real driving simulator. All companies make mistakes and lie to us to sell more. I'm not defending Forza. but I think I prefer 1000 cars with modeling and interiors from Xbox 360 than 150 from GT7 (each car takes months to be manufactured in that game it is unnecessary)

Pretty much so. The author often complains about the marketing that was done for FM8 and concentrates more on visuals and graphics hence the reason why he keeps making these videos. The fact that he uses PSVR2 as part of the comparison between GT7 and FM8 which imo is 2 vs 1. Long ago, l learned that marketing doesn't always showcase the true potential of the product so it's best to try it out yourself. I have both FH5 and FM8 so l can choose either place arcade sim style or sim style.
I also played Gran Turismo long ago and my personal favorite is the OG Grand Turismo and GT2. Something about the first 2 had the magic that still holds true today. The last GT l played was GT6 and that was really good. Skipped GT Sport due to numerous issues and overwhelmed backlash from the GT fan base. Now, to be fair, when GT 7 was released, it too had it's problems too. When GT7 was previewed it did not include microtransactions which in turn gave high review scores HOWEVER after the game was released microtransactions was then added. The pricing of the cars in the game actually matched the Real life versions causing the player to grind long hours to even attempt to purchase any of them. Even the rewards was changed at one time to cause even more grinding. And just to play single player, you still have to be online. The devs made changes to GT 7 but the reception was damaged because of the early changes was done. As you can see even GT7 had a rocky start as well.
In the end, both GT7 and FM8 had rocky starts but eventually both games will get better in time. I still have a PS4 Slim and can play GT7 but that online play even with single player will be bothersome since l don't have PSN+. It's possible for the online mode is for updating car pricing for both new and used cars for GT7 which l can see becoming a pain. As for Forza, if you are more concerned about graphics then play FH5 however if you more into sim style then you can choose either FM7 or FM8. Just stop complaining and enjoy your racing. Nothing is always perfect out the gate these days.
