It's been almost three months, so I figured I'd write this little update and pin it.
Long story short, I'm not getting my money back. The game still doesn't work (I've reinstalled it about seven times at this point, plus trying every other fix I can think of). None of the updates have changed anything.
I tried everything I could to get a refund, but no luck. There's something called a "notice of dispute" form you can fill out that's supposed to essentially force them to review your refund request manually, or it opens them up to legal action (to my understanding, anyway, which is very minimal). The 60-day window for them to respond to that passed half a month ago, and I just don't have the energy (or lawyer money) to do anything about it.
I did just get an email yesterday, thanking me for my "patience" while my refund request was processed - however, it links back to that same denied refund page I show in the video (with the same denial date and everything) so I think it's just an extremely delayed automated thing for my original refund request.
Forza itself, of course, is no help - I even tried submitting another support ticket (entitled something like "Read it this time") and got, nearly word-for-word, the same automatic response.
I think it's safe to say at this point that I'll never be able to play the game again, nor will I get my $100 back. It's not like I really need either at this point - I'm not very interested in the game after having been forced away from it for three months now, and I just got my second CZcams paycheck to make up for the sentimental loss of my first one - but it does really make me angry that I've essentially been cheated out of what I paid for with that much money.
So, nothing's changed - I still very strongly think nobody should buy this game. Don't risk your money.
Can game companies please stop calling their currency CP.....
Apparently I missed this comment earlier - is that actually a common thing? I think I've only seen Forza do it, although yes, it is... unfortunate.

My experience as a GT player, and life long Forza player.
- turn on game
-practice with wheel, wheel is bad... controller it is
-doesnt support PS controller like the last one
-buys Xbox controller
- grind through builders cup with a car
- drive interior cam, let down. Stiff and flat looking. Exterior cam it is then.
- eyes water as I "upgrade" it looking at the horrid paint and models
- go into photo mode to use the broken and weird camera
- dissapointingly save my best attempt
-sigh... one more race in builders cup
-turn off game

Yupp. Thats Forza Motorsport. Glad it was on game pass because holy shit is it a lazy mess (WHEN it works).
For shit sake, at least weather in GT7 is ran on algorithms based on season, location, barometric pressure and more. It gathers in pools, and dries where cars drive with a real time cloud tracking system. It can be raining on one side of a track, and sunny on the other (big ones like Nurburgring). Seeing the real time weather change and move, stars and night sky included is incredible.
Can't say the same for FM8, yet.
It's funny - I genuinely enjoyed the game (during the week and two days it actually worked for) but I fully agree, it's not a good game. There are so many problems that need addressing, but there just aren't a lot of particularly good alternatives.
Would love to play GT7, but of course, that's PS exclusive.

@@ChroniclesofKToyoda I wouldn't ever buy a PS5 anyway - it's just not worth spending the money when I'd only ever use it for one game. That said, this video has indeed been really successful, which is nice!
If you end up successful enough it might not matter if you only play just a few, I mean I own over a thousand games but barely make time for any

@@ChroniclesofKToyoda Yeah, fair. If I ever have the money (and the space - there's absolutely no way I could fit a PS5 right now, at least in the same room as my PC) I might end up getting one; it's just not that likely.
I got a refund. It's not even close to being built from the ground up and somehow looks worse and runs worse than Forza Horizon 5, at least on PC.
the handling and tires physics is were that tag line came from.. btw its a GAAS game so it not gonna be complete day 1
I actually would rather own this game than get a refund - if not, that was, for the game breaking immediately after I bought it. If it starts working again, I'll happily continue playing - but if it doesn't after the November update I, too, will be getting my money back.
It doesnt have Bathurst Circuit or VR.. So I will stick with the superior GT7 which allows me to sit inside the car instead of playing off of a 2D flatscreen.
Can’t agree more and as such have been steering my customers away from the title, it is a tragedy that as gamers we have got to the point where we accept this as the normal for a game release. Hopefully the sales will drop off fast enough for Microsoft to put pressure on turn 10 to actually fix the game, I’d also like to point out that it only has circuit racing, no drift, no drag despite there being the upgrades for both of these event types it is so blatantly an unfinished game.
Yeah, I did notice the drift suspension and drag tires. Horizon 4 (the last one I played) had those, and it made sense in a Horizon game, but I don't know why they're in Motorsport if there's no events to use them for. Or, the drag tires at least - drift suspension is at least useable for casual play.
Nothing wrong with forza if your using series x/s or high end pc so your post makes NO F SENSE
@@JubbatheHatt I'm using a fairly high end PC (RX 3060 TI, R9 5900X, 64GB RAM) and my game doesn't work, so... not sure that's quite right.

I have to admit that I almost pre-ordered the game at one point. Chris Esaki ( lead developer of Forza Motorsport) announced a completely new career mode months ago. As a pure single player, this immediately caught my attention. Then came the disappointment. During the showcase, you could see very clearly that there was little to nothing new in the career. (Except for the upgrade system which, strictly speaking, is not an exclusive feature of the career). In many respects, the career is actually a real step backwards compared to its predecessors, which were already not really good. The fact that you start from scratch with every championship means that you never have a feeling of progress, but rather of stagnation. Then there's the poor track selection. Even in my admittedly few hours of playing, I've already driven many tracks in my career several times. (Without repeating races, mind you). And then there's the fact that there are no events for racing cars in the career. And that in a game called Forza MOTORSPORT...
I almost preordered it too, actually, just so I could get a head start on filming this video. I decided against it (and also against buying at launch) because the price was just too much of a risk, which is why I didn't actually play the game until Ruben gifted me a week of Game Pass for it.
The fact that they touted adding more racecars than ever but don't give you any career races to use them with is wild.
@@JZStudiosonline Yeah, it's a pretty questionable design choice - that said, I don't have a ton of interest in the career anyway, other than unlocking cars, so it doesn't bother me too much.
@@noname2242 that's probably largely because the career mode sucks and so does the ai.

I like the title, too late for me I got "Scammed" but this is unacceptable and should be prevented as far as possible.
Good video, you describe well what's wrong in this game, despite of just being a fraction of the problems, really.
Oh, there are TONS of things wrong with FM8 (as I take it you know). It's funny - I don't think it's a good game, but I still really enjoyed it. I'm just, you know, not allowed to play it anymore, and I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone after it broke once I'd paid for it.
I love it when people say don't do this, don't buy that and won't give a hint of detail or reason in the comments.
Gran Turismo 7 (at launch) was not a perfect game, it updated and updated and updated until polyphony thought it fit well. Turn 10 will update Forza and chances are, if it has problems, they will be fixed.
@@Nitrousedstang I mean, the ending of this video gives the reason in pretty clear detail - my game stopped working, I can't fix it, Forza Support doesn't even try, and I can't get a refund. Losing $100 on a game that doesn't work is a pretty good reason to say "don't".
Forza Motorsport on series x and s is awesome and gamepass is amazing value
I get one multiplayer race before that message pops up until i have to restart the game, you ain't missing much i can say that, most of my time is spent driving in SP hoping that i don't get another infinite loading screen at some point
By far my biggest issue with the game is its brokenness (as you can imagine, given the conclusion to this video). I can forgive a bad game, in fact I enjoyed it anyway, but I can't forgive a broken one.
I used to be an absolute Forza superfan. The first four games are the best. My favorite is FM3 but many prefer the fourth one. All of those were good, solid racing games.
This new one is a live service, one of the main reasons I didn't buy it. (Additionally the time-gated content doesn't interest me.)
The people responsible for this franchise no longer care. That much is obvious. I have mentioned in comments on other videos that I will no longer be buying Forza games because of they're treatment of the players and their complete ineptitude in even making the games work.

Yeah, that's what made me decide not to buy another Forza after Horizon 4 (which was also my first Forza; I was late getting to the series).
It's not the game itself that is the problem, it is the approach the devs take (live service, not fixing bugs, and also not offering any proper support). I have never felt less cared about when contacting customer support - I messaged them again today when the new update didn't fix my game (this time including the words "please read it this time" in the title) and got the exact same response, word-for-word other than the bullet list being slightly different (and only one "thanks" this time). About to go to Xbox Support to get a manual refund if I can, so I'll put an update in a pinned comment soon with whatever the results of this are.
The game is weird inconsistent and just frustrating and awkward. They lied to us about certain things. That graphic that they showed during their presentation on Maple Valley with the grass blades and sunlight shining through the traffic cones is not even in the game. Also how they showed the reflections of that red car reflecting off the black Nissan GTR was very detailed and full, and yet the reflections look nothing like that in the game. Infact the raytraced reflections on cars only shows when another car is very close to another car and it only shows in an inch size window on the car. Very misleading.
Yeah, although I've kind of come to expect that for the most part - no game really looks that good. Forza's graphics don't actually bother me, possibly because I'm used to games with worse (BeamNG is my favorite game, and while its car exteriors look great, everything else is a lot less so), but I do get why a lot of people have an issue with stuff like this.

Oh, definitely. I genuinely like FM8 (even though I don't actually think it's a particularly good game), but I am not allowed to enjoy it. Hopefully the mid-November update fixes my game, because even now I'd rather the game start working than get my $100 back (which is why I haven't gone to pester Xbox support yet).
Did you got any extra support after the video or did it ended as it is?
From I've seen online, since I don't have the money to buy, fm2023 seems like a ok but flawed game with too many issues to make it worth it.

I agree with you. The game is in a sad state. As a long time Forza supporter, I've been disappointed in the last few Horizons and Motorsports..
As a very short time Forza supporter (as stated in the video, my only other Forza was Horizon 4) I agree. That said, I did enjoy this game - I just don't get to keep playing, apparently.
@@noname2242 I have enjoyed it as well but quickly lost its luster. There’s a few things FM8 doesn’t have that were in previous titles. The Car Point system really drove me away.

Wow.....this is insane. Ive been planning on buying an XBox series S this Christmas just to play this game and Forza 5 as well. Seeing your experience really makes me second guess that. Thanks for the praise! I hope Forza gets fixed sooner or later, because if not for that server error, I probably would recommend this game. I wouldn't say it's necessarily a GOOD game, but it's an enjoyable one.

Hours on tuning, get in a lobby only to find out the game adjusted my setup... again and again and again.
Beside all the countless bugs and crashes, i am done.

Forza 5-8 are honestly kind of weak. 5 has the least content, so as far as that goes, 7 would be the best title to get since it has pretty much everything from 5 and 6. Though at this point 8 is the only thing you can buy digitally, so that also includes DLC packs.

Sorry to hear about all the issues you had, both in the game and with that aweful support feedback. I’m just curious, did the several updates fix the game for you? Can you at least log back in now? Update 4 released just yesterday.
Nope. I even tried reinstalling it again before answering this comment, just in case the update fixed it and it didn't update automatically. This was the third or fourth time I've done that, if you're wondering. Still no help from Forza or Microsoft, and the deadline for the "notice of dispute" form I filled out in November has more than passed now with no response. I genuinely am still out $100 for a game that doesn't work, and there's nothing I can do short of legal action, which I frankly don't have the energy (or budget) for.

@@Breyzipp I have no idea if that would work or not (I'm not very familiar with any of them, so I'm just taking your word for it that they'd care at all) but I don't really want to do that. I don't want to bother some third party with my problem, but also, even if it *does* somehow work, it'd be... the wrong kind of publicity, I guess. This game has depression and it rubbed on me. Now I feel depressed after a couple hours of playing it
I noticed a big difference in AI corner brake-checking, cranking it up helps the AI drive a little more realistically. You don't win every race but it's far more immersive
Yes, the brake checking didn't feel quite as bad later in the recording sessions when I bumped the difficulty up slightly (still only to 6, as I recall) - I thought about mentioning this in the video, but there were a lot of things I cut for pacing. If my game ever starts working again I'll raise the difficulty more.
ai is dumb as rocks, as soo as you overtake them, they become flaccid, make sure your car has best acceleration in that class and if you can reach first position at the start they will fall behind immediately, reason why it's utter boring pos

Wait is this a always online single player? Only reason I never got GT7 was because I hate online required for single player games.
Yes, it is. I can't stand that concept either, but I was willing to look past it until the game decided I wasn't allowed to connect to the servers anymore, locking me out of the entire game.

I watched this video a month or so ago and took particular note of how the game stopped working on you. Just out of curiosity, did you ever get things working and if not, did Microsoft grant you a refund or are you still up the creek as far as being out your money?
No and no. After the update failed to fix it, and after a good bit of digging to find anything I could do, I filled out something called a "notice of dispute" form in early November. They're supposed to reply to it in 60 days or I can file for arbitration with some organization or another, though frankly I don't have the energy to do that. It's been over half the time and I've heard nothing back, not so much as an email confirmation that I submitted it, so I'm not holding out hope.

Only update I remember making my forza experience better was when drifting suspension was released.
Still missing good times from FM4 and our private hosted public servers...
But at the same time i dont miss all the ramming, broken voting system, forza racing aero, no new track etc.
I just wish they'd take the time to fix their game - after all, I can't enjoy a game I can't play.
I have bugs to,will not save ,apply, sometimes connection.issues ,ive turned in three tickets ,which the say they are working on the issues, also waiting on the November update.
It's honestly impressive just how many bugs they managed to launch the game with - not that I've experienced many of them, other than the one that stops me from playing at all anymore.

if you wait for the shaders to finish in the background then click on reconnect it will work, it wont connect while its doing the shaders .
Oh, believe me, I've tried waiting - I've tried everything. It just refuses to work (and at this point I've uninstalled the game for good).
I did have that same connection issue, but it went away after a PC restart. Aside from that, I've had a bunch of bizarre graphics problems. From what I can tell, issues can significantly vary according to different hardware.
It's really weird. There's something in the known issues list that sounds a lot like what I have, and I believe I remember it saying that if you clicked "play offline" it'd get stuck in an infinite loop - maybe you didn't click that and I did? I can't remember if I clicked that button before or after a PC restart.
@@noname2242 Yeah, I didn't click offline mode. I got the connection error after a race when going to a different menu. It didn't save the race, so I had to do it again.
@@brett22bt Yeah, there's a really brief mention of it in this video but I did briefly have the connection issue mid-filming as well, very briefly, and I believe it was exactly like that - got it after a race, restarted the game, lost some progress. I wish I could check the footage back to see for sure, but the clip you see in the video is just taken from the footage at the end - I wasn't actually recording when it happened the first time.
@@noname2242 My first thought, when you mentioned it was that the problem could deteriorate, and I get locked out of my game as well, considering some of my other issues have also worsened with time.
I'm sorry to hear what happened with your installation. I'm presuming you've already tried "verify integrity of game files" in Steam or backing up your player file (progress) and doing a fresh install. If that doesn't work, you could delete everything associated with the game in "regedit" and start over. It's a bit of a f*ck around but almost guaranteed to work (until it happens again😉). I hope you get it sorted. Anyway, very informative and entertaining video; keep up the great work.
@@brett22bt It's on MS Store, so verifying integrity isn't a thing. I'll give the rest of that a try tomorrow (or maybe the day after, when the update inevitably fails to fix my problem) - right now it's 11:28 PM and I am way too tired to troubleshoot.

The game has a lot of “glitching” on my end and one particular course with the Ferris wheel the pop in was terrible. I have the same issues using my g29 and have been using the controller when that’s not my preferred way to play. I purchased it physically, the one thing this game did for me, was it sold me on gamepass bc had I known I’d find cocoon and vampire survivors was worth it alone.
I refunded this unfinished game. Don’t support single player games that don’t work offline either.
I didn't mention it in the video, other than very briefly at the end, but I will say here that I agree - singleplayer should NEVER be online only. Given that I don't have a ton of use for multiplayer, I'd still get 95% of the enjoyment from the game even with this issue if I didn't have to connect to their servers from the start.
They gave you a refund? I WISH! I played this game for about 2 days during the pre-order period and asked for a refund. Was denied multiple times even though I said I didn't want to play this garbage anymore and 2 days was more than enough time to figure that out.
@@Delimon007 Yeah, I didn't get one either - that said, if the game isn't fixed by the update coming in a couple days, I'm going to Xbox Support to try to get them to manually refund it. Will that work? No idea.
It runs like complete garbage on my pc. I had rtx3080. I put all the settings on mid and turned everything down. Still horrible pop in. The track disappears. The back ground pops in and out. Wtf Microsoft.
I have no idea why, but while I'm aware of these problems for other people, it was fine for me. My GPU's a little worse than yours (RTX 3060 TI), and I was running high settings, but my game ran pretty smoothly. Might have something to do with CPU or RAM; mine are fairly high spec (R9 5900x and 64GB RAM).
I have a 3080 16gb ram. I play in 4k most settings maxed out except for maybe shadows. Ray tracing turned off. Rendering quality set at 120% and get 60fps. I get some background pop in on certain tracks but luckily not the track itself.
Did you not read the requirements? You must...install this game on an SSD HARD DRIVE ONLY. And,Not an external drive either. ( Use the C Drive only) solid state drive with good storage. Don't bloat your hard drive with other games either. I had same issues and then installed it properly. It changed everything about the gameplay and No more pop outs and missing tracks...Period. Please try it out. You can crank all settings to maximum again.

I'm still a sim racing noob and perhaps an outlier but I've really been enjoying the game. Bought it just before recently picking up my first wheel, a Simucube 2 Pro and VNM pedals. The cars feel excellent with a good DD wheel , though FFB is not as detailed as in AMS2 or iRacing. Still more than enough info to get really in tune with the car and keep it right on the edge.
I've been practicing with all assists turned off for the first time and noticed my track times improved drastically once I stopped relying on the visual line and brake zone recommendations - which are often far too conservative like in Horizon. And the skills I've developed in this simcade have carried over to more pure sims like AMS and AC.
I don't mind the car leveling system, since I'm only focusing on a handful of favorites and not trying to max out every car in the game. Still no crashes, performance issues or glitches in my 17 hours playtime.
Yeah, I wish my experience was that good. The auto-centering wheel is Logitech's fault, not Forza's, but it does mean I have to use a controller, which I don't feel nearly as confident with.
I can't remember what my assist settings were - I think whatever the default is? - but I was using the racing line to make up for not knowing the tracks. Were I actually allowed to play this game anymore, I'd probably eventually turn it off. And I agree, you can usually push the braking points way more than the line suggests.
The way I think of a Forza game has always been as a more... I dunno, car-collecting sort of thing compared to other racing games, so that's probably why the leveling system bothers me much more than you.
Currently, though, I still can't play the game (and am currently in the process of trying to get my refund manually reviewed, so... we'll see).
I really enjoy this game on my Xbox tbh, i've never had any game braking glitches before,only glitch i had was after rebooting the game with quick resume causing the game to constantly pause, just restarting the game fixed it so im gona keep playing fm8
I wonder if the PC version is more likely to have bugs. It'd be pretty difficult to test.
I’m playing on game pass on series x. I am not buying any dlc until I know what it all is. I fully agree with cad leveling taking too long. It should be cut in half at least. Maybe if the paint and tuning bugs are fixed and the game goes on a solid sale next year I might buy it
Yeah, as I said in the video, I don't necessarily mind the idea of progression (though I equally don't mind a complete sandbox), but it needs to be much faster, considering how many cars this game has. You can't have a massive car list AND a massive grind - just one or the other (and I prefer the former).
I'm really enjoying Forza Motorsport on my Series X and 4K LED TV. So, I glad I did get FM around Christmas time.

The credit system is silly for upgrading.
They haven't released any new tracks.
There is NO drag racing.
The new settings and physics upgrades are better for eliminating understeer.
For me, while I agree with all of these as problems, I can get past them - it's just the, you know, not working that stops me from recommending FM8.
Same stuff happened to me. Try logging out of your xbox account and logging back in. It fixed the initial logging in problem.
I tried that as well; unfortunately didn't work. Glad it got things working for you, though, and hopefully my game sorts itself out with the next update.
Forza killed itself, I have played it from V1 on Xboxes and used a wheel/pedals and that was seriously difficult to set up. And there's the f-ing problem, I hoped they would have learned and at least gave it a good try to make it playable for Wheels and Pedals. but they have failed miserably, it not even close to a sim. I have gone PC since 6 months and invested serious money to have a good time on AMS2, rF2, Iracing and well did give Forza a go but it was not anywhere near playable with wheels and pedals.

Forza sucks, they have murdered it completely it should be at least close to a sim, and fairly playable with wheels and pedals but it is not. Steam should remove it from their section of racing sims, and warn its is just a game to play with a controller and it is a waste of money for those who want to use it with wheel and pedals just for a little fun driving.
At least Steam knows to refund, and I have invested that money into AMS2, and thats fun and worth the money.

They have to fix the tire wear before they add the nordschlief. It’s a silly system bc the tires should last longer on this game
I believe tire wear is based on the length of the race. I don't like that system much either, but it shouldn't be any more of an issue at the Nordschleife than it is at other tracks.
Ive had inconsistent performance issues at first but I finally figured it out. For the connection thing, I have it too sometimes (PC) but, if I insist like 5-10 times, it ends up working🤷♂️
Unfortunately, brute force doesn't work for me. I suspect it's somehow a problem with my account - as in, somewhere on Forza's side some bit of data connected to my account has broken, so no matter what I do on my end (reinstalling the game, even) it won't allow my account to connect to the game. Just a theory, though.

The only suggestion I can give to maybe fix that log on error is open windows settings, go to gaming, then "Xbox Networking" and make sure you can connect to the servers there. NAT type should say "Open", Server Connectivity "Connected". You might have to run it twice to verify, mine always gives an error on the first attempt but reports open the second time. In the old Horizon games this would always keep you from connecting to "Horizon Life", which showed other players driving around the map with you.
I'm on Win11, so the Xbox Networking section in the settings doesn't exist. A quick google search tells me the only way to check this in Windows 11 is to use the Xbox Console Companion app, which doesn't exist anymore.
@@noname2242 Oof, thanks for the warning about that. Gives me another reason to stay on Win10. No clue why microsoft would remove that and disable the console companion at the same time. Xbox app is so barebones in comparison. Best I can find is just going through the troubleshooting steps but not being able to check if it's working, which really sucks.
If you want to try anyway, this is what the xbox support site says: Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset > Reset now
Also since it might help you find the answer, the usual thing people google is "Teredo is unable to qualify". I didn't find a lot of useful info for Win11 but some of the troubleshooting steps might help.
@@cjskater2006 That network reset thing is for Teredo, I believe - whatever Teredo is. I haven't done it yet because I'm not getting an error message about Teredo, but I suppose I might as well try at this point. Edit: It didn't work. Also, for some reason, CZcams has decided to hide your reply above this - no idea why. Love it.
@@noname2242 I came across a weird solution to a problem and was reminded of your video. I'm not 100% sure this will help, but apparently if you log out of the Xbox App and back in it can fix one variation of this log in issue at least. The situation in question being you play the game on gamepass first and then buy it afterwards, but you can't log in once gamepass expires. It's been awhile so I can't remember if that's the situation you had but it might help.

No and no. I think somehow something with my account has broken on Forza's side, meaning there's nothing I can do, and both Forza and Microsoft have refused to get back to me with an actual human response.
Boy you do have to love when you go to a support site and instead of letting you make a generic ticket for support you have to jump through selecting their predesignated issue categories and sub categories and sub sub sub sub sub categories until you get to a long explainer of what they think is wrong before youve told them. To then be given the option to go into more detail by opening up a new support ticket to be more specific on your issue. All to then respond a week later with an autogenerated generic support solution that covers nothing you selected in the categories and is the support equivalent of suggesting you turn your device off and on again, and to check your router service lights.
I've gotten better "support" from this video's comment section than I ever did from the official website (although it's still not fixed, 7 months later).
The proximity arrows are absolutely horrible.. I don’t understand why they didn’t give us a radar to see what’s around us. I find myself using the hood view for online races since there is at least a mirror so I can keep my racing clean. Although it doesn’t matter because everyone else, even the AI slams you off the track. I’ve only found a few races where other drivers were clean. Makes me wish I didn’t sell my PS5, because at least in GT you can find clean races. I guess I’ll just stick to ACC where you have to be a cautious driver to keep your safety rating
You act as if Forza only has dirty racing every race yet I watch a streamer play gt7 and acc and he gets slammed off track and deals with dirty racers EVERY single race just about. It's the same with every racing game tf? There are plenty of clean racers in Forza. Trash take 😂
Radar is a must-have for a racing game, for me - I even use it when doing BeamMP with friends, most of the time, since I play Beam in first person with a wheel. It just makes life easier.
As for the cleanliness of online racing, I can't speak to that, since I didn't (and now can't) do any.

Most forza racers are dirty AF. They don't know or follow basic cornering rights and will stick their nose in your corner when they have ZERO cornering rights to be there. GT7 mostly has clean racers with a few exceptions. I do not know about AC or ACC but if you are going to play those games you should be racing in a League where that trash is not tolerated.
I bought the game with xbox account, I hate subscription services too ! Not the premium though, I baought the 70€ version - My PC is far below the minimum required (I get a warning message at launch) and I knew that before I bought it, I was planning to upgrade anyway.... and... all settings to "LOW", it works.... I get 36-42 fps 🤣😁- I got some connection problems too, but didn't last long, and I kind of enjoy it !
But if I encountered the same problem as you, I'd email the support every day, opening a new ticket each time, until I get an answe which makes sense - Maybe there are not many people who have the same issue, but I'm pretty sure you're not alone, it would be interesting to know how many -

I don't think the response would really change, since I'm fairly sure the Forza Support messages I got were entirely automated (since they had nothing to do with what I actually wrote in the ticket).
I just sent back a G923 because I didn’t like it now I know why 😮 also CAR PG is a good idea but not across the entire game in career mode as the builders cup racing teams etc would be good 👍

I cannot refund mine either and the tutorial actually takes a good 5-6 hours to complete, meaning most people will have a lot of playtime before they even actually play the game. This game is honestly a scam.
To my understanding of the refund denied message I got, ANY playtime - as in, even if you just opened to the main menu and closed the game again - makes you ineligible for a refund. Which is, of course, insane - definitely going to use Steam when possible in the future because of this. I even considered buying this game on Steam, but didn't because my last Forza (FH4) had a bunch of issues on the Steam version.

LOL....why didn't you release this video a month ago. I too am out of $100 and regret it 100%. No race replay that's grossly broken along with the HORRIBLE crayon chewing rammers makes this a hard pass that I wish I had not purchased!
Btw....in reference to the G29 wheel, you would have better results with a DD wheel over a spring/belt based wheel.

Whats really messed up is the only reason i got my refund was because of Australia consumer law so if i lived in america (like most of their customers) id be shit out of luck. Its really scummy that theyre selling a game in this state and are not allowing refunds
Yeah, I tried filling out something called a "notice of dispute" form in early November, and still haven't heard back - I believe I can take legal action if they don't at least respond within 60 days, but frankly I don't have the energy to. If this doesn't work, I don't have anything left.
My game is also broken but in different ways I emailed support but after so try this email back they closed the ticket whit no fix . I can't believe I got a new Xbox series console just to play this broken mess

I dont get much time to play. I have been playing since FMS2. Intoducing regulations in 7 made me a better competitor. This new one is great for me. I dont like the ommision of ABC rooms for onnline. Also getting reset after 15-20 minutes of paractice/qualiifying. I do like the game, and will geind while they fix it.
Yeah, I agree - it's definitely a flawed game, but I do like it anyway. It'd be nice if I could, you know, actually play it.

That, and given the hate comments my last video got, I thought it would be a good idea to mention that I'm trying to be objective when I review games - I won't call it "not a good game" (as in the case of the last review) or tell people not to buy it just because it's not my personal preference; it has to be an objectively bad game (in my opinion) for me to label it as such.

I didn’t have any of the issues you experienced which doesn’t make the situation any better but that game still belongs in any racing sim collection.
If you don't play on PC you won't have the graphical errors, doesn't change the fact that the game is a dull husk of its former self

I waited unit MAY 2024, giving the game time to get updates, bug fixes, more content. I’ve played most of the Motorsports, Horizons, GT. The current Motorsport gets boring in about 6 hours….and that’s AFTER the update that fixed the disastrous car leveling issue. The game is just boring. Boring sounds, mostly boring tracks, VERY boring career mode. Motorsport 7 is still a favorite. The difference in graphics is MINIMAL. LOVE tracks like Prague & Rio. The PI system seems a bit off considering you can upgrade most cars to fully tunable race suspensions, drivetrains, etc for about the PI cost of an exhaust upgrade.
For once it was nice to have the gamepass…
Yeah, if you already have Game Pass it makes much more sense than buying FM8 - I don't, though, and buying the game outright is probably financially better for me since I try out so few games anyway that I don't think Game Pass would be worth it.

I have all kinds of issues. The mouse disappears have to hit the arrow keys to get it to come back, the pit exit and start of practice the car seems out of control and when I get control I'm usually wiping out it ridiculous, I've had not load and frozen.... oh and some of the parts for the aero on some cars don't appear when you select the part...
You need to upgrade Suspension to RACE ASAP.
And look up some good settings.

It's true, I've got a dd1 with v2 and this is the most unnatural driving game I've ever played.
Guarantee that 99% of the people throwing shade about driving standards also can't drive for toffee.
Doesn't bother me much anyway - I fully accept I'm not the greatest at driving games (despite playing them almost exclusively).
I love Kyalami as well.

Ive seen the videos reviewing the graphics vs GT7 but for anyone that has played both...which game has the overall more fun driving experience? GT7 is in my personal doghouse for that microtransaction crap they pulled last year and ive tried playing Assetto Corsa but its too rigid and difficult for me to see myself having fun with. What do you guys suggest if not for Forza or GT7?
Taking into account what you just mentioned....NOTHING
ACC is a TRUE sim so its supposed to be rigid. GT7 is more of a simcade which is great as you get the best of both worlds. If you don't like FM which I understand nor GT7 nor a true sim experience in AC/ACC/iRacing/RF2 ect... then there would be no racing game you would like.
I would play grand trismo 7 if I were you. And I thought Forza motorsport 6 was the best one Give that one a try.
I don't have a Playstation (and most definitely would not buy one for one game), and FM6 isn't for sale anymore.

CSL DD Wheel works great. But infinite loading screen is a game breaker.
I am very jealous of your wheel. I actually took my G29 apart to try to make it a little quieter, like a DD or belt driven wheel, but it didn't work (and it was a huge pain to put the steering rack back together). One of these days, if I really make it big on CZcams, I'll invest in a nicer wheel (and, if direct drive, maybe a desk or rig that can actually handle it).

CSL DD is Great? Maybe try a Different Racing Game like AC, ACC or something likes this. Forza Steering Support is the Worst Trash at all Racing Games
This has been an issue with forza for years. Most the time you have to change your nat type n flush your dns using command prompt. N some other bs. You'll have no trouble finding walk throughs online.
I might make a whole video about Forza 8 now because of this video, just because my comment would be too long, the one thing I will put in comment form is, I believe the issue you're experiencing is not having Xbox Live Gold, which I think is utterly scummy to force people into buying to play the game they spent $100 on.
I don't think that would be it, since it worked for a week on game pass as well as two days after I bought the game outright.
If this is really the reason, you would think a company as big and successful as Microsoft would be able to figure out the connection reason is because of a lack of game pass and be able to convey that to the player trying to log in.

I’m glad I have game pass. If I’d bought this outright I’d feel gutted. It just doesn’t work for me. I had the original Forza and Forza 2 back in the day and loved those games. I then went to PS and got into GT. Last GT I played was 6 but that felt so good. There’s just something about the car handing that doesn’t gell. Also online racing in GT was good, you’re paired with people of a similar skill level / safety rating - in Forza? Yeah right. If you’re not rammed off in first corner you’re lucky (and then odds on you get a penalty for it too). The graphics too are hit and miss, on occasion it looks stunning but most of the time dull and flat. Don’t know how they messed up so badly. Horizon looks brilliant all the time and whilst being Arcady (I prefer sim) is a way better game. It definitely needs a huge over haul.

Oh, no, I agree - the AI are terrible. I just don't care - it's something I can race with, and I don't normally get that due to being bad at Assetto etc.
Heard alot about the game crashing or freezing. But not being able to connect entirely is kinda odd. Still, your experience doesn't warrant telling people not to buy the game. Others are enjoying the game and not having game breaking issues.
I disagree, I think my experience means I cannot in good conscience tell them anything else - after all, if it happened to me (immediately after wasting $100 on it, too) it can happen to someone I would be recommending it to, too.

This not the case, people are playing the game and other channels are putting out content. If a bad experience warrants a dont buy, then might as well don't buy anything at all.

Oh, it definitely felt wrong, but I had heard that this game's force feedback was really bad out of the box, so I assumed it was just very stiff and vague FFB that I could change in the settings.

You bought a product, you bought it online, I assumed you used a credit card, the product is not what was advertised, it was advertised as a car racing game, you got menu navigator with a car racing intro, do a charge back on your CC, 100%. That is what credit cards are for. You paid GOOD money, i would be fucking pissed if i spent 50 bucks on a game and it wouldn't work, can't imagine how you feel spending your whole first youtube pay check on a menu navigator experience. Do a charge back on your CC. It hurts microsoft and shows them this type of behavior isn't okay.
I'm waiting for the mid-November update to see if that fixes it - despite all of this I still would rather be able to play the game than get my money back. If it doesn't fix it, then yes, I'll either get a refund through Xbox support or do this.
