    Ha our Sunday morning coffee and automotive tutorial from Steve. Do like the test lead mate. Bet I'm not the only one who says this and then they will probably ask for a schematic on how it was made. And if you need an idea for another video can you do one on a wideband o2 sensor using Forscan. (assuming ford use them) They always confuse people when they go faulty.

      All I did was cut the sensor part off an old like for like sensor, I soldered a small bulb to the 12v supply and heater control wires (pins 1&2) and then tapped a bna plug into each of these to use on a scope to view signal and supply. Ill look into doing a wideband but they are difficult to measure as they are measure in Milliamps. There are data values we can use when using forscan on the 1.0 wideband sensor

    Another excellent video. Had to do the same job on the wife's mk 7 Fiesta when it was 8 years old. Very disappointing that this new Fiesta needed a new sensor with just over 1000 miles on the speedometer. I have had 4 Mondeos and the wife 3 Fiestas, but next car will probably be a Skoda, the best of the VW group. Keep the videos coming, it always a pleasure to see a true professional at work.

    Nice video bud. I've done the same with the light. It makes it so much easier to test with how buried the wiring connectors are doesn't it. I like the extra connector to scope the signal. Good job 👌

    • @SYDiagnostics
      @SYDiagnostics  Před 2 lety

      If you can confirm the wiring is ok and there is still no control to the heater, then often a software update can fix it. But it's likely that the ecu could have failed

      @@SYDiagnostics Thank you for your reply. I have cleared the fault code and the engine management light comes on after driving for 20/ 25 minutes when engine is up to normal temperature. The obd reader shows fault in permanent codes . I have driven car for almost 400 miles. Thank you.

    Hello greetings very interesting channel. I was watching one of your video about coding injectors. My question is about ford transit connect 1.8 TDCi 2006. I SWAP just engine from 2007 connect. Engine is running good but it's having exhaust emissions above the norm. Should I do injectors coding or I should swap injection pump. Kindly regards Lukas

    • @SYDiagnostics
      @SYDiagnostics  Před 2 lety

      If the injector codes do not match what the ecu thinks they are, then yes I'd code them in as a first start. But doubt it would effect your emmisions to much extent

    Good morning, I have this fault come up on my Ford fiesta eco boost 1 litre. I was wondering whether this would be covered under my warranty? Thanks in advance

    • @SYDiagnostics
      @SYDiagnostics  Před rokem +1

      In the UK the warranty is 60k/3yrs so if its proven to be at fault then I can't see why it wouldn't be covered. But I'd check with your local dealer to clarify, If I was you.

    I’ve got fault code P0420 and changed this sensor in your video as euro car parts only had that sensor.. so would it be the other sensor and where would I get it from, my mk8 1.0 only has 25k on clock and it get driven a lot and long mileage…

    • @SYDiagnostics
      @SYDiagnostics  Před rokem

      p0420 is catalyst efficiency so is a different concern, basically the rar 02 sensor is reporting that the catalytic converter isn't efficient and you'd need to assess why. It could be a running condition (rich/lean) and failed cat, a mis reporting o2 sensor. It's not as easy as plugging in a code reader and replacing parts baed on a code. The cataytic converters do fail on these, but they do also run rich due to leaking injectors, leaking fuel pumps (oil dillution) and stuck tank vent valves. They also have lean issues with split pipes. Any other codes stored?

      yes,the light bulb acts as a load for the ecu to control ,so can see what is happening ,very simple and very clever test,scope test point too,have made them myself on volvo and vauxhall,bmw ,long as you know the res,ohms of a good device,then can swop out with a bulb of simular res,ohms ,then can test the ecu control as he showed ,switched earth,as other side of load is ign live ,fused ,control is switched earth ,works well ,then if ecu pass test ,you know the heater or device is faulty,not a guess but proven ,i always strip dead carparts on the bench to see why it died,drives the boss nuts ,but its how i learn ,and got test bench set up for test stuff,power up parts and see how they work ,how to control,switch ,helps alot on dianostics too
