- In this video, I am out for a winter overnight camp in my new hot tent with a wood stove to keep me toasty and warm. It is nearly Christmas, so I have my silly hat on, some tasty Christmas food to cook on the stove and some red wine to wash it down with.
I love winter camping when you can make yourself cozy in a heated tent, using a wood stove to heat up the space, cook and provide light. A chair, my slippers, some fairy lights and some nice grub and it’s as comfortable as being at home - a home from home. Of course, I don’t always camp with this much luxury, I like to mix things up and camp very simply too, but a bit of ‘glamping’ is nice too.
I will be taking a little break in the new year - time to catch up with some home jobs, spend time with family and just have a little break from the filming and re-charge. I hope you understand, but in the meantime I would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and festive season and a very happy new year! Thank you for all the support and love during 2023 - I’ll see you soon for more adventures in the spring.

Simon, I've really as of late have noticed your absence. As a Sub of Andy's channel I was hoping to see the two of you together. Without your constant feed of videos then I feel like my mind is lacking a vital nutrient, so to speak. If or when you can return to creating content then I will be the happier for it. Thank you for all the good trips you have taken us on. You have shown us how how to set a good camp fix good food and enjoy a good beer. The one thing I have gotten from you is it doesn’t matter where you are from a local wood lot to the wild country. It’s all about the attitude to enjoy where you are. So now it’s time for us to get off our duffs and get out in nature and enjoy it like you do. So enjoy your break and time with the family and the one thing I can tell you is I’m 71 years old and you will never run out of a list of things to do😄. Looking forward to your return in the spring.
I think I am going to try that fry up x-mas dinner! since living alone my usual x-mas dinner ends but just what I normally eat every other day, since making a x-mas dinner for one is just a pain. Now I am looking forward to the 25th now!
