Very nicely done. She looks classy, not pimped. I too have a mint 2000 and just enjoy looking at her from time to time. By the time I'm 70 she'll be 25 years and eligible for a collector plate... not sure I'll still be able to lift my leg over tho'! ;-)

Hey, love the bike! I have the same one and want to put on the same slip on. Was wondering how your exhaust system is set up and what you did to it? How did you remove the catalytic converter and did you put the slip on directly or weld/clamp a pipe first?

I just got a 2000 R1 I love it but it seem like it didn't have the power it should for the year.when I get on the throttle it seems like it takes a second to response any suggestions???
Dustin Daniel really hard to say without having to bike to look at and test ride hope you figure it out by now. could be something to do with the Jets being clogged
I perchased them off ebay from bk-rider and yes they are VORTEX, but i changed the foot pegs out and used M-FACTORY pegs, also found on ebay. I paid $350.00 for the rearsets.
Thanks bro. Make sure if you go with carbon wrap. Buy only 3M product and use the 3 M primer on your edges. Don't make the mistake I did the first time by going cheep with a different brand of wrap. Good luck and take care.

01 was the last year they used carbs

Bike looks great but needs a stock exhaust. The Coffman only sounds good on 600s

you could probably get away with out jetting the carbs. If anything it would probably loose power at the top end if any.
