A lock closure isn't that bad, particularly for 5 days or so. Time to kick back and relax, or do some Josh jobs that need doing.
Sue is making the most of her time by knitting a fancy scarfe.

Frustrating that the canal was closed - good of Jimmy to try so hard in that horrible looking water! At least it’s an attractive place to be marooned for a while.

It was great if Jimmy to try and get the lock open. He didn’t need to get in there and see what he could do but he clearly wanted to help if he could.

I've seen tie-bars here in the U.S., St. Louis, Missouri actually, going through old brick buildings. They're usually tied with iron stars though on the ends.

No but we did trial some new editing programme which does appear to deal with sound differently. Thanks for the heads up 👍🤣
What do you do when there's a surprise canal closure? Do you wait? Or do you turn round and go back?. It must give you time to take a look at your travel plans oh and have a brew and some biscuits ❤😊
In some cases you get a choice but in this case the nearest winding hole was right back where we started the day (bridge 13) and we are at bridge 27 so theres no way you can reverse that far so that takes away anything other than waiting, and waiting…oh and a bit more waiting 🤣
A good excuse to have an early lunch/tea/drink/whatever depending on the time of day and what the weather is doing.

They couldn’t find the rake head in the end but the min issue was a super heavy thick metal plate which had dislodged from the lock gate and couldn’t be lifted out. 😬😬
